Saturday, April 7th, Buffy & Angel: The Authors will hold a special
100-question LIVE Buffy trivia contest in the Save Angel chatroom. The
winner will receive a brand-new copy of Nancy Holder's Carnival of
Souls. There may never be a BtVS event this big ever again, so make
sure you keep your schedule clear!
Maybe you already own the book. DO NOT let that stop you from
participating. If you win, give the book to someone you know who
watches the show, and maybe introduce them to the Slayer in print, if
they haven't read any of the books previously.
Maybe you haven't ever read any of the books, but you've watched the
show. If you win, you will be stunned to realize what you've been
missing once you read Carnival of Souls. So whether you're a newby to
the books or not, you shouldn't miss this live Buffy contest!
Not all questions will be in the format of an interrogative sentence.
For example, there is a section of questions where you are told
something about or given a short description of a vampire/ demon and
you name the villain.

Tim,
I have a suggestion. Since the Buffy and Angel novel publishing programs are effectively over now, with little likelihood of being revived, none of us authors are making any more money from those books. There might be a couple still paying royalties, like the first Watcher's Guide, but most of the stuff is out of print and any books we donate are just leftover stock that we have.
How about if the winners of your contests get a Buffy or Angel novel, PLUS a new novel by the same author? That way we can help fans of B & A discover what we're up to now. It's always hard to drag fans of one property over to other stuff, especially original stuff, even--as with my Witch Season series, it's written with those exact fans in mind.
By June 9 I should have copies of my new original novel MISSING WHITE GIRL, and I'd be glad to send an Angel novel and a copy of MWG out to the winner or winners. I suspect other authors would feel the same way about the chance to promote what they're doing now.

The contest for June was planned out as being a " "50 Question LIVE Buffy Trivia Contest: Jeff Mariotte Special" with prizes donated by Jeff, and autographed. Noone showed up for the contest, but lucky for us, Jeff Mariotte agreed to move his donations up to the next contest in July.-July 14th, 2007The first 50 Question LiVE ANGEL Trivia Contest was a brief one between Shiai and BuffyverseForever. BuffyverseForever (Scott) received two AtS novels signed by Jeff Mariotte, along with a signed copy of his new book, MISSING WHITE GIRL. This was our first contest to offer a runner-up prize. Shiai would have been mailed one AtS novel and a copy of MWG, both signed, but generously insisted that the prizes be kept by me for use in a later contest.-August 11th, 2007 - Aug 24th, 2007
Here's where the contests make a positive turn! In between this 50 Question LiVE Buffy Trivia Contest and the AtS contest in July, a Myspace page was created for the contests ( http://www.myspace.com/btvs_ats_live_trivia ). At the last minute, Shiai posted a link to SaveAngel about the contest at Whedonesque.com. It was then posted at Whedon.info. With only hours before the contest, views of the article on the front page of SaveAngel sky-rocketted! From August 5th to August 24th, there have been 788 views of the article! And the Myspace page has gained 110 friends by August 24th. 11 new members joined SaveAngel on August 11th.
The contest brought in at least 14* players.

She had agreed to donate one copy of ONE book, either Night Terrors or Portal Through Time, to the runner-up, and ONE copy of the other book to the winner. I believed she meant a copy of each book would go to both the runner-up and winner, meaning both contestants would receive two books.

The people at Buffy & Angel: The Authors and Save Angel work hard to successfully organize and host the one BtVS/AtS event that will leave you feeling eager to join the next contest. INTRODUCING SOMETHING NEW
BtVS Contests NOW INCLUDING SEASON EIGHT!WHAT ARE WE AT SAVEANGEL.ORG AND BTVS-ANGEL-AUTHORS.NET.TC USING TO CELEBRATE THE ADDITION OF SEASON EIGHT?
Scott Allie has sent us one SIGNED copy each of the first 5 issues of SEASON EIGHT! And the winner's going to be sent them next!
Since March of this year, two great websites (em-hmm, if I may say so myself) have been working to create a fun, well-organized online competitive game for Buffy and Angel fans. The contests, which kicked off in April, have only included actual television episodes. However, Season Eight, which is delivered to readers monthly through a comic book published by DARK HORSE COMICS, is now into its 7th issue. And Angel's mini-series continuation of the show called AtS: After the Fall (published by IDW) has its first issue out in November, which happens to be the same month as the next AtS trivia contest. So, as previously stated, the comics will now be included in the contests, but ONLY the show continuations. We will not be quizzing over the comics that have not been approved by Joss Whedon to be thought of as more episodes in the series.
The questions regarding the comics will not differ in format from the questions regarding the television series. In other words, questions you may expect to read as "In the third issue of Season Eight, The Long Way Home part 3…" will be read as "In the episode The Long Way Home Part Three…"
October's prize has partially already been stated at the top of this announcement. I am very, very, very (!!!) excited about the prizes. I'd been talking to Scott online the night before he was leaving Indy from his trip for GenCon and when I asked him about prizes, he, obviously, accepted the invite to donate. I am very grateful, and I want to thank Scott for donating. I read some Buffy TPBs once I learned that Joss would be continuing Buffy to Season Eight, and I've loved every TPB I've read… except for a certain one which I won't mention by name unless someone asks me. And I know that a part of each comic that makes it so cool is always because of Scott Allie, so thank you Scott.
BUT, there's more! Along with the prizes donated by Scott, SlayAlive.com is donating some THE LONG WAY HOME posters! The poster is made with the wonderful art that is displayed on the cover of the first arc's TPB, coming out in November. The poster was available at the San Diego ComicCon.

When you first enter these contests, you'll probably be thinking "I know I'm going to suck at this today." The funny thing is, everyone else is bad too! The contests are designed to be fun for everyone involved, trivia-buff or not. And if it makes you feel better, while you are having fun, I'm shaking in front of the computer monitor worried about messing up. And my aunt is bringing me another glass of Coca-Cola (this is not an endorsement! Pepsi rocks too!), asking me if I'm hungry. And I tell her no. Then the contest ends and mostly everyone is happy, especially the winner and sometimes the runner-up, and I realize I am extremely hungry.
