Raising The Bar Launched:

A new phase in our campaign is beginning! A big thanks to everyone who has participated in the Faith Spinoff Campaign! We couldn’t have done it without you! (If you haven’t sent out any postcards for Faith and the Media yet – it’s never too late! Do it now!) We’ll revisit Faith, as well as campaign for a Spike tele-pic, in the coming months. But right now … It’s Movie Time!
Summer 2005 is one of the best summers in years for Sci-Fi and Fantasy movies. So this is the perfect time to kick off our Angel Movie Campaign! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be targeting several major motion picture studios declaring how much we want an Angel Feature Film. David Boreanaz has said more than once he would love to do an Angel movie, as have the rest of the cast. Since Joss has turned his attention – for the time being – to movies, our efforts to encourage an Angel Feature Film should be well received.

Take A Letter, Cordelia:

The limited release of Serenity has sparked some positive reviews. This is a golden opportunity for fans to strike a blow for Angel: The Movie. Joss believes that an outpouring of support would show producer types (both tv and movie) that we ARE a significant demographic.

Talk to your friends who love sci-fi and tell them that they have a wonderful chance to obtain a bright, shinny new sci-fi addiction. You might mention with the Star Wars saga ending and the Lord Of The Rings movies all on dvd, they will be needing one. Make plans to attend with friends and if you can afford it, go more than once. It may seem that going to see Serenity is an oblique way to support Angel, but it's Joss Whedon's contention that good attendence will give him bargaining power with film executives.

The current release date is September 30, 2005.
