Take a Letter, Cordelia:

For fans of great fantasy and sci-fi programming it’s been a difficult couple of years. Entertaining shows about memorable characters have been replaced by formulaic dramas and reality shows about people we all would be better off forgetting about (see Paris and Nicole – on second thought, don’t). We could simply choose not to watch them. Television critics still have to have to write about them.

Let’s give them a something to write about. TV critics have universally praised BUFFY and ANGEL. Why wouldn’t they? They choose to go into that field because they love television. Joss Whedon’s shows were great television programs. Let’s let them know that their readers want see the return of our favorite characters in an ANGEL/BUFFY spin-off and Angel in a feature film.

Remember, it’s only a story if we make a lot of noise. So as Angel would say, “Let’s get to work.”

Let’s write to the following, nationally-read critics:

Mr. Robert Bianco
Critic’s Corner
USA Today
7950 Jones Branch Drive
McLean, VA 22108-0605

Ms. Gillian Flynn
Ask The Critic
Entertainment Weekly
1675 Broadway
New York, NY 10019

It’s never too late to write to our previous media targets if you haven’t already. All of our media targets are receiving packages this week that include our campaign literature, postcard art, chocolate angels, and action figures.

Here are links to phases 8 & 9:

Here are links to some great postcard artwork:

Faith Spin-off: http://www.saveangel.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=3336

These people aren’t American network executives, so if you are not located in the U.S. that shouldn’t stop you.

As with our past targets, you could send tourist postcards from your area or letters if you do not wish to print postcards from here. If you have friends or family that do not go on the Internet or visit this site, be proactive and either print or buy them postcards and stamps. If your whole family would watch a spin-off, each member should send a separate postcard. Do the same if your significant other is interested in it.

The worst thing to do is nothing.

A Guest Save Angel Editorial From MaidenGreen:

This campaign started off as an endeavor to save the TV series Angel. Well, we all know how that one turned out! Despite solid ratings, being the #2 series on The WB in the desired demographic, and the ONLY WB drama during the '03-'04 season to show a ratings increase, Angel was canceled.

So why are we all still here? A year later, why are we still here?

We're here because the Whedon legacy made an impact on our lives. The saga of Buffy & the Scoobies and Angel & The Fang Gang changed us, moved us, gave us immense pleasure, sleepless nights, tense moments of pacing the floor wondering how the current crisis would play out, and many hours of laughter and tears. In short, these shows changed our lives.

That's why every one of you is important. We want to do something that has been done very few times in television history. We want to bring Whedon back to the small screen, we want to influence an Angel feature film.

So, is this campaign for you?

* If you're completely happy with the current network offerings, then no, maybe this campaign isn't for you.
* If you said a fond farewell to BTVS and ATS, and have moved on to other programming, then, no, maybe this campaign isn't for you.
* If you're dismayed with the current programming and lack of diversity on the tube, then YES, this campaign is for you.
* If you're tired of networks giving excellent genre shows the blow-off, then YES, this campaign is for you.
* If saying goodbye to BTVS and ATS was the hardest thing you've ever done, the YES, this campaign is for you.
* If you're still mad at The WB for canceling ATS and shorting the fans 1 or 2 more years of wonderful stories, then YES, this campaign is for you!
* If you're here, then YES!, this campaign is for you!

So how important are you? Individual you?
Very Important!

Each and every person who visits this site is very important to making this campaign a success. Each and every person, taking 1/2 hour every week to send postcards to the studios, to the networks, to the stations, to the media, all this is very important to the success of this campaign. That's less time than you spent watching a BTVS/ATS episode. Put in a DVD and watch while you write! Do NOT underestimate the power you have as a single voice added to the chorus of many on this site! Don't be the one who says, I'm not that important ... everyone else will write and mine won't be missed. If everyone reads the weekly target, and only a handful send in postcards, how does that impact the campaign? Very little. But if everyone sends in 1 or 2 postcards to every target, that makes hundreds of voices blended together, saying one thing - WE WANT MORE WHEDON!

And how powerful is that?
VERY!
So what can you, who are Whedon-lovers, do? You can add your powerful, individual voice to the others here, and join us in making a statement:
We WILL NOT be dismissed.
We WILL NOT go away.
We WILL NOT be silent.
We WANT MORE WHEDON!

Angel in Internet News and Print Media

The Boston Herald released a list of the top ten all time greatest cliffhangers. As you probably know, a cliffhanger is the deliciously ambiguous ending of a tv season that keeps you grinding your teeth with worry all through the summer while you wonder how your favorite character gets out of this one.

BVTS made it! While some us can only wonder why the dilemma of our favorite vampire with a soul didn't score a place on the list, we are happy for its sister show. (Come on, vampire in a steel box with a mesh screen so little fishys can't even get in, stranded, starving to death on the bottom of the ocean wishing to die while all the time cursed with eternal life!!!!!!! How dramatic is that? Desperate Housewives have NO idea of desperation.)

If I haven't lost your attention during this rant the ten winners are as follows:

10. Dynasty
9. Star Trek: The Next Generation
8. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
7. South Park
6. The Practice
5. 24
4. The Sopranos
3. Alias
2. Friends
1. Dallas
