Save Angel Celebrates One Year Anniversary!
If you were on the site at all on last weekend, on Sunday, February 13, there was a change in our screen head. It read: "In Memoriam, Angel: Killed Feb. 13, 2004." On February 14, it was changed to read: "One Year Anniversary Save Angel.org."
We owe Simon (and Shaun) a lot. They gave us a place to bring our complaints and our constructive ideas. They gave us a forum to discuss episodes and play games. Here, on site, we have people to talk to, whose eyes don't glaze over when we start to talk about our favorite show.
So we members of the site want to thank Simon. You've been a generous host. Thank you very much.
Editorial: TV Vast Lack Of Taste Land?
It has not been a secret. There has been a vast shift from the more expensive character driven shows to the so-called reality genre. It seems to me, that these reality shows mostly have the
fascination of a train wreck. You can't seem to pull your eyes away from the twisted metal and blood. I have seen the glazed open- mouthed stares of people at a train wreck. One occurred on the railroad tracks, outside my house in Davidson, NC in the winter of 1973.
At the time, I worked in a chronic disease hospital in Huntersville, NC. I grabbed my dish towels and fled out the door to render the first aid that my minimal experience as a nurse's aid could provide.
While I worked on the young man, who was pinned in the Volkswagon, many citizens came to gawk. Their expressions were of horrified astonishment, and sometimes sadly, open glee. I mention this, because I've seen that same expression on the faces of friends and family as they watch some of the more extreme reality shows.
It hardly shows us in our best light as human beings. So, I exercise my right not to watch. Still, I am glad for those who do like that sort of thing. They, at least, have it to
watch.
Not so with Angel, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Enterprise and other fine, cancelled fantasy shows. Farscape, thankfully, won a reprieve due to the hard work of it's fans.
I don't know about your cable/dish system, but I have 220 channels. It seems to me that there should be a place for Joss Whedon and his wonderful universe to dwell. Those of us who want vampires with souls should be able to get new and exciting adventures with our favorite characters. After all, we are a demographic too. Our love of occult or sci fi based shows is no more reprehensible than someone who watches a reality show....or sexy soap opera. It's a matter of taste.
Which brings me to my point, we are fighting for the television viewing of OUR choice. We want fine writers, the cream of the crop, to entertain us. I say there is room on 220 channels for my viewing preferences...... and yours. If you love the Joss Whedon Universe, join us in our efforts. Because we know there is room for
us on 220 channels and we won't stop until the network executives know it too.

Joss Whedon Honored With Library Donation
The Whedonverse Multimedia Project honors its namesake, Joss Whedon, with a donation to his hometown library.
February 9, 2005 – Last year the WB Network gave fans of Joss Whedon"s "Angel" a unique Valentines Day present: it cancelled the show. Knowing not to expect flowers and candy this year either, fans decided to try to repair the damage to their broken hearts by sharing what they love with those in need.
The Whedonverse Multimedia Project is an organization of fans who wish to bring the shows created by Joss Whedon to public libraries, hospitals, shelters and other organizations in need of DVDs or books.
As a tribute to the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly; the Multimedia Project is kicking off its campaign by donating a complete set of each of these shows on DVD to a library in Joss Whedon's hometown: Popular Library at the Mid-Manhattan Branch of the New York Public Library.

David Boreanaz has appeared in Public Service ads for People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA). In the ad spots, he entreats us to be "an angel" to our dogs. David's dogs Bertha Blue and Fritz appear in the ads with him. He reminds us to play with and go for walks with our animal companions and never, never leave them chained up.

James Marsters will be starring in "Cool Money" on the USA Network, March 18 at 8:00 pm Eastern/9:00 pm Central, according to the latest press release. Former announcements had the show airing on March 25. The latest change seems to be the name. Previously, it was to be called "The Pierre Heist."
The plot centers around a reformed jewel thief and family man returning to his former trade. Sounds good to me.
Point Pleasant featured a nice suprise in its February 10th broadcast. Adam Busch (Warren on BUFFY) made an appearance as an "associate of the devil." Not quite an "advocate" but certainly at least a "partner in crime."
It isn't coincidence that so many actors and actresses from the show are being seen here, there and everywhere. Joss has an eye for talent. This quality is apparent in every aspect of his projects.
It was nice to see Adam. I am assuming that his band appearances account for his current "look." I almost didn't recognize him. I am sure his die hard fans were thrilled.
