JUST HOW DEAD IS THIS HORSE THAT WE ARE ACCUSED OF BEATING?
Everytime we start up a new campaign, it never fails. Someone tells us that we are beating a dead horse and that we 'should let it go' give up, already. I am sorry but I must decline.
You can't read a news article on feminism without seeing a Buffy The Vampire Slayer mention. Come up with a new show that stars teenagers, guess what they quote? Evil Lawyers? You guessed it, people think of Wolfram and Hart and Angel.
Around 6 million fans have bought heavily into the Jossverse. We love his ironic humor and witty banter between characters. He has told us that there is more story to tell. We want to hear it. We want to support his innovative style of writing. We want to help him get where he wants to go and achieve what is meaningful to him.
Our desire to see more of the people that he brought into our lives is neither futile or foolish. We are sick of being told that we "need to get over it" or that our energies could be put to more useful causes. It always suprises me that the ones who suggest this, are often fans of the psuedo-reality show craze that has driven good writers away from the TV world.
We are really sorry to disapoint you folks who feel that way. Nothing meaningful was ever accomplished by quitters. If staying the course means that there will be a little ridicule in my future, so be it. We believe in fighting for good TV viewing. We believe in following through on our hopes with our labor. We'll send postcards and letters til the day that we hear that there will be a show spun off of those which we love.
We'll save ANGEL in our hearts until the day we can see him on the screen again. Right now, we are pooling our efforts into a campaign to advance Faith as a lead character in a new show. Join us.
And as for that business about the dead horse? Let me mix my metaphors, here. You have heard the quote " It ain't over til the fat lady sings"? Well, she's not even humming yet.

To Do
Download a postcard and mail it off to ABC this week. Tell them your wish for Eliza Dushku, as Faith, to become the lead character in a new show on their network.

Reviews of the Proposed ANGEL 5th Season release are coming out.
The menu sounds like it is ripe for a fan feeding frenzy. There are rumored to be commentaries on Not Fade Away, Smiletime and Soul Purpose plus gag reels , stunt reels, widescreen options and a spot on recurring villians. Due out on February 21, I predict the fans will be lined up for this dvd conclusion of the ground-breaking series.
Lorne's Lounge
Reports on past stars and other Jossverse notables
Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. saw the premiere broadcast of Fox's new Supernatural genre show, " Point Pleasant"
Set to actually run on Thursday nights at 8:00p.m.,hereafter, the show is set on the Jersey Shore. Marti Noxon, another breakout success form BTVS and Angel, produces this little show about a teen-age girl whose mother sings in the Church choir and whose dad is the Jersey Devil. ( And if any of you have seen that travesty called the 13th Child, go wash your mind out with soap. Endorill assures you it is a tissue of lies. Since she is a Jersey Girl ,herself, she ought to know.) There are bound to be BTVS and Angel Comparisons, but give it a look. After all, we wish her every success.
I, myself watched it and found it to be interesting. There are some twists and turns and very interesting curves ahead ( for Endorill's male readers). Endorill's Little Girl was born in point Pleasant N.J. and HER demonic tendencies are WELL known. Marti Noxon is doing a good job, but we hope for more of the wry, black humor that often characterised our favorite Jossverse shows.
We can only hope it does as well as "Lost"
Fox also has plans to release "The Inside" day and time to be announced. Tim Minear and Jane Espenson are slated to tell us all about the inner workings of the FBI's Violent Crime Unit.
