Hey everybody,

Just spoke to Yahoo support in California. There is an email going
around that warns that you won't get email unless you download an
attachment from yahoo. This is not from Yahoo!!!!!!! They told me
they already are working on this. Very nice folks! So just delete
the emails w/out opening them.

There are TWO SCAMS. One is to get your credit card #. The other
gives you a virus. Some appear to come from staff@... and some
appear to come from administration@.... Both are bogus addys.

What some people will do with too much intelligence & not enough
morals...

hey guys here's an fyi:
sometimes wiz puts the full  charcter name on the list & in parenthesis a description
of who they r in relation to main characters.ex., jung young-sook who plays escort
choi is listed as jeonjong's mother on DAWN but on the "miss mermaid" listing she
is by her character name, han kyung-hye(eun ari-young's mom).so if the name isn't
familiar, look for (description) of who they r.then u can go to actors page to get bio.

Donna Thomas <drtwmt@...> wrote:
Linda - Thank you for the tips! Believe it or not, I
have NEVER looked at anything but the alphabetical
listing of the actors.  So now I have a new place to
look!  When I was scrolling around the pix of the AOW
cast, I saw someone who looked like the guy that
played Wang Guhn. Since the captions are Korean, I
can't really tell - but - it looks like there are many
interesting characters to come.  Thanks! - Donna

I just got an email from support@... stating something to the
effect of my account will be cancelled unless I follow the
instructions written in the file sent with the email. I'm pretty sure
that is the virus you are talking about. I didn't open it, nor do I
plan to.

A word of advice is to never open an email attachment unless you know
without a doubt that it is from a friend or someone that you know and
trust. Even if it appears to be from your credit card company, your
ISP, Yahoo, etc, don't open it.

This is a great drama. I can't wait to see how the "Deposed Emperor" situation resolves itself. I know the narrator alluded to tragedy but I can't remember if he actually said the old emperor would die.
Even though Muby is a made-up figure, it's sooo much fun to watch her coniving.

Exhaustion must be going around! But I do agree - it is still addicting! I always liked Yi Ui-Min and actually feel bad for him. Never did like his shrewish wife but I feel bad for their situation. I missed the part where Muby went to the Empress Dowager's chambers - can somebody bring me up on that scene? Must have been a doozy! As for the deposed emperor I think the narrator said something about his 'murder' but an adjective was also used - only I can't remember if it was 'horrible' or 'grisly' or whatever. And I can't figure out who Brue is - a cousin? How did he become mute? Did I miss more than I thought?

Thanks!

Hi, all,
Here in La/orange county we just saw episode 99 - this has been a very exciting series - more turns and twists than a rollercoaster. Does anybody know how many episodes in this series?  and is there another series after this one? We have been watching these programs religiously for about four years now.

I'm also in L.A., and I thought that AOW had fallen into a bit of a rut around
episode 50 and quit taping the series (though I kept watching). By episode, 75,
I was kicking myself in the butt for losing faith and I had to start taping
again.

If it seems to fall into the duldrums in the weeks ahead, STICK WITH IT. It
gets REALLY good as time wears on! Trust me!

As for Brue, I recall that he's Ui-min's "sworn brother" but I don't think
there's any blood relation. Brue used to speak, but he does not now. It never
really was explained exactly why he went mute.

Hi, Donna. No, I too thought they were 'real' brothers. Remember
their father in the flashback? He was really broken up about his sons.
BTW, I usually watch tapes of the week's episodes on Saturday
afternoon, which is my husband's favorite time to watch cooking
programs! He's always teasing me, "Don't tell me you want to watch
those violent shows where people are always chopping off each others'
arms and heads! Why don't you and those other women find a 'Korean
sports bar' where you can hang out and leave us guys to more peaceful
pursuits!" ;-) LOL Linda

>Yes, Brue is a sworn brother (not by blood) - he took an oath to not speak
>- but I'm not sure why.

He's a true brother. A while back they showed a segment about Yi Min's early
life, growing up in Surabul- he and his brothers hunted together, their
father taught them... then a crooked local lord attacked them. I think there
were four two brothers originally, two were killed, Yi Min made sure Brue
could escape; he ran and told the father. Yi Min was imprisoned, tortured
(actually, I don't recall if the brothers who died had died in the attack or
under torture).

Yi Min's wife was a concubine to the lord, but she became pregnant by the
lord, which made him mad. She pleaded for Yi Min's life, so the lord said,
fine, I'll spare him, but only if you marry him and both of you leave
Surabul.

Years later Dudeul commented about the great future of Yi Min's first born
son, while looking at the second son; with veiled comments indicating he
knew what even Yi Min didn't know, that the "eldest" wasn't Yi Min's, and
the one who really was Yi Min's first born son was the second son...

Note in episodes 96/97 now showing in Chicago how the oldest son is an
arrogant trouble maker, like the surabul lord, and another son is the
thoughtful good son...

I personally felt as if the show was going through a bit of a slow
period prior to tonights episode (36 is it?). The last few shows
mainly made me feel as though I needed a nap, but tonight- wow.
Tonight's show was definitely enthralling. The more turmoil the more
interest I have in the show. I am looking forward to see what happens
tomorrow night.

Hopefully Ui-min and Ui-bang bring some chaos back to the show. It
sure looks like it's heading that way.

Is AOW going to cover the time period all the way up to the Mongol Invasion in the 1300's???

Age of Warriors is playing on Channel 28 on Mon. and Tue. evenings at 8
p.m., rerun Tue and Wed. midday. It is a direct descendant of Wang Guhn, a
couple hundred years later.

Dae Jang Guem runs Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m, rerun Sat. and Sun. at 9
a.m. (they have about 5 more minutes of the show on the morning reruns, they
chop the evening show to allow for more commercials). It takes place in the
early 1500's, wonderful show.

You can learn more about both in the forums at

Dear Me! I loved the last two eppys but can't shake
the feeling that if ONLY Yi Ui-Bang didn't get mixed
up with Muby, Madam Yim, and Dowager Empress Yim, he
wouldn't go around bashing in the heads of all those
monks! And if ONLY Kyun weren't so besotted he
wouldn't have become a drunk and a stalker! And poor
Yi Ui-Min! If he just had
a different wife! (which Duduel never lets us

It's impressive to see Kyun raging over his lost love, Madame Yim.
Romantic love wasn't as prized in earlier times as it is today,
though there were many love poems composed in Korea and China in the
time of AOW. As in Ancient Greece, friendship between men in the time
of the Korean chronicles appears to have been valued more highly than
relationships between men and women, which were viewed as either lust
or family necessities. Note how dismissive Kyun's father is about the
whole affair. But Kyun's passion is deeper than lust or
possessiveness; it rises out of his very soul. Bravo, lovers, doomed
though you may be! Linda

I was a little suprised how Kyun acted. I personally thought Kyun
didn't really have feelings for her, definitely not to that degree of
breaking out into a fit of rage. I thought he was just trying to use
her to get into the royal family, guess I was wrong.

And on an unrelated note, I just recently saw this video. It doesn't
have anything to do with AOE, but definitely worth a look if you like
dogs. It had me laughing for quite awhile. Too bad my dog can't do
that. :P
