Does anyone know where I can find the YSS soundtrack? I'm looking in particular
for the sea battle song where there are male vocals and drums (equivalent to a
cannon shot). It's very uplifting! Thanks.

My husband and I attended the Philadelphia Craft Show today.
Some of you may remember that there was to be a group of visiting artists from
S. Korea exhibiting. The Koreans' works were among the very best in the show!
It's worth seeing if you are interested, and continues through tomorrow.

While surfing on the net in this early morning, I came across
this old song which was performed so many times at the time,
and which still sends goose bumps to me.
I don't know how many of you, half way around world, know or
remember this song, but if you remember it, you would have no
choice but to be reminded of your younger days, together
with me.
21 years ago - now every things, including some of my bad
memories, at the time feels purer and beautiful.

Crissy:
According to their web site (koreanahong.or.kr) koreana's last performance was
delivered in 2003 when ex-president Roh visited US. Though they have not been
active, they does not seem to have been disbanded.

YEs - a great song - I remember watching on TV the Seoul Olympics and there was
a music and dance performance where the dancers wore gorgeous hanbok.  At the
time I knew little about Korea and thought how exquisite the music and dance
was.

Yes. At first there was a kingdom called Chosun (or Joseon) in today's Manchuria
or North Korea - but, arguments about the location is still going on - in B.C.
years. And then more than 2,000 years later (1392) a new kingdom was established
with the same name - Chosun - the kingdom that remids you of King Sejong, Dae
Jang Geum, and Immortal Yi Soon-Shin. Obviously it must have been so confusing
that historians began to call the former "Old Chosun" to tell it from the
latter; "Yi Chosun" means a kingdom ruled by Yi family, but "Go Chosun" means
"Old Chosun" - "go" is "old" in Korean.

LOL - when I first read the subject line, I thought Seung was asking 'What is a
"dive bar"?' At least I could have explained that term!!

Injecting technical jargon and
leaving it unexplained is also
common in science fiction --
the reader is expected to
assume that such terms refer
to technology yet to be
developed.

hi dill

fellow group, koreandramas.net, is the host of this particular get together.
luckily, most
of us belong to so many of the same groups that we always try to support each
others
events. i'm sure fellow ewg mem, theresa, the owner of kd.net, would be happy
to take ur rsvp. i've cc her incase u have any questions for her directly.
theresa, please see the attached email.
it's good to hear from such a longtime member such as urself dill. enjoy the
wonderful history books supplied by the korean spirit/cultural promotion
project. these were the most popular favor at the korean cultural banquet betsy
and i threw in '06. korean spirit was very kind to donate the same since, unlike
kd.net, we were just two people asking for help. we're not a group so it did
look kind of suspicious when we approached them.lol....thank goodness they (and
several other korean companies) trusted us. :-)

mian hamnida, i digress! :-D have fun dill! u will have a total blast! between
the great games and prizes, there's wonderful people who share ur passion for
korea!  u'll make some
great connections.

take care and stay well.
afn (an-nyoung for now)

I didn't really like the first few episodes of Iron Empress, and came pretty
close to giving up on it.  It just seemed too much like a contemporary show with
old-fashioned costumes.  It was also very choppy with lots of plot threads that
led nowhere.

Thank goodness for mysoju.com.  I got on that site and just started watching
back-to-back episodes.  This gave the series more continuity.  I just watched
the final episode last night.  Yes, it did get better in the last 10-15
episodes.

donna, it's not going to be worth any viewing time until around eppy58. this
show will never bee geon or sejong but the last 12eppys (58-70) have been
better than the series as a whole.

Actually, like Mickey D's, I'm still lovin' it - but I think something is amiss.
I think it's been shortened for our market, because threads usually develop with
sometimes
frustrating slowness.  The thread where Sir Gang Gamchan located the young
prince in the
potters' village culminated with uncharacteristic speed, and actually could have
been a great side drama.  Plus, we only see the bratty Khitan king and not the
rest of the court.
Anyone sense this, or have you given up?? (say it ain't so)

I think this one is awful.

I don't get it...this one seems much more interesting and
understandable...I think it's a little better than Dae Jo Young...but not as
good as "Age
of Warriors"..But I see it as much more cohesive than Sejong..

Was that GKS edited a lot..?
