I hope someone out there who isn't as electronically-challenged as I am can
explain this:
Last nite we had guests and went out for dinner, so I dutifully programmed my
VCR and the set-top box
(Comcast digital cable service - extended but not Premium) for IE Normally when
I want to record, I always
leave the cable box (but not the TV) on - like when I'm, recording the daily
drama after midnite.
After saying goodbye to our guests and turning in, I noticed the cable box
hadn't been left on,and I was
really p*** at my husband because he was the last person in the room - he
sometimes just clicks everything
off with the remote, even though I have a sign - "leave cable on" up above the
set!
This AM I rewound the tape - which ran on time - expecting it to be blank. Lo
and behold, "Iron Empress"
was recorded, even though the set-top box was off when we left and off when we
returned around midnight.
Needless to say I was happy - but still don't understand. I have lost many a
show in the past by not having the
cable set-top box on. Can it now turn itself on and off when a recording is
scheduled?? It never turns itself off
after 1 AM when the daily drama is over. Has anyone else experienced this?
