My name is Kirby Jonas. In 1998 I gave a copy of my novel, Death of an Eagle, to James Drury at a Western celebrity festival in Laughlin, Nevada. Since the age of three I had loved watching The Virginian on television, and when James enjoyed my book there was an almost instant bond between us that has only grown stronger.

In deciding to approach James Drury about creating this Yahoo discussion group I thought long and hard. I know I cannot please everyone who is a fan of the 1960's television Western, The Virginian. There is no human being alive, or who has ever lived, who can please everyone. But the goal of this group is to discuss James Drury, Doug McClure, Roberta Shore and all the rest of the cast of The Virginian, along with the show itself and any other Western related topic that is of interest to the group.

The added bonus for this group is that James has said he would come in now and then and leave a newsletter, and also would make a letter of introduction.
