It's true, stage names aren't as common today. However, it seems that the more "popular" an actor or actress may be, the more likely they are to choose a stage name.
Jodie Foster, Will Smith, Kirstie Alley, Jamie Foxx, Toby McGuire, Geena Davis, Taye Diggs, Vin Diesel, Jennifer Anniston, Alan Alda, Morgan Fairchild, Tony Danzaa, Nicholas Cage, and Alec Baldwin are just a few that come to mind who have changed their names.
Not necessarily:
Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts (real name is Julie--which doesn't count as staged since there was a Julie already registered with SAG and otther unions before she came on the scene)), Hugh Grant, Judi Dench, Nia long, Lindsay Lohan, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Madonna, Nicole Kidman, Colin Farrell, Glenn Close, George Clooney, Michael Douglas, Katherine Hepburn, Tom Cruise, Salma Hayek, Raven Simone, and Jude Law to name just a few who have NOT changed their names:)
You really can't put to much into that because Mercedes may not have
actually gone last just because that is the way they edited the
show. Many of them were aired in a different sequence than the
actual sequence.

You know, the first show they had a class on how to cry. I didn't record that show, but I remember it was a scene from Smallville. All the girls were doing a scene where they needed to turn on the tears. Mercedes went up last in that particular event and by the time they got to her, Mercedes said that she couldn't bring out anymore tears. So the judges liked her best because they felt she brought more dept to the charactor and all the other girls did was cry.
Sometimes it pays to go last.

Yeah, i definitely wanna see the new one, if any. I never saw the first episode, but started only on the second.
I don't know about skills, although, on thing I noticed was the fact that she gave the girls advice (when she was still talking to them) that got the girls eliminated. Example: in the lesbian scene. She was the one that told Donna to play it like it was two girls playing around. And you noticed when she worked with Cecile during the comedy routine, she kept telling Cecile she was doing fine when Cecile wasn't quite sure what to do.
So, she either was a ringer, or, she just didn't know what she was talking about when it came to acting.
One of the things I thought was that since she did have a movie to her credit, she might have thought she knew more than she did. It happens. Sometimes in life we have one experience that boosts our comfidence and we forget and start thinking we know more than we do.
Anyway, I noticed that they're having auditions for another show of the Starlet. I hope it's as exciting as this one.
Wow! I never would have thought of that. Now that you mention it, maybe Katie was a ringer! Because as far as her skills go, my opinion is that she should have won the competition. Though, there were some screen tests that Mercedes did better. For me, I would have had to flip a coin between Mercedes and Katie.

I wondering if we'll see her in the future, becasue she looked really
honest when she got cut. I' m sure she got publicity from the show,
,they all did. Watt about UNSCRIPTED, the HBO show?
I agree with you Nivrad, Cecile was the best.
After seeing the show I know now why they had to go through whatever
scenes they had too and ,Wow, I don't know the name of the charactor
that is a lesbian on the show but coult you imagine her and Cecile in a
love scene. Cecile is so hot. And mydisposableprofile is right.
If they picked Courtney, they would have an audience that was more
uncomfortable than turned on. Sorry Courtney.
I honestly can't remember Katie from the Lesbian scene epy. All I can remember is how perverted Courtney was. She scared me. I really felt bad for Michelynn on that epy! I think Katie has some good skills as an actress. She might seem a little shady, and maybe she really is, but you have to remember that it is a reality show, so the editors and producers and all will edit the shows to whatever they think will get people to watch.
I watch too many reality shows and have come to find out, some things are not always what they seem.

I found out that Lauren's last name was Alonzo. So i looked her up on
the web. She's not the basketball player but I think I found a website
with a picture of her.
The website is:
http://www.ballboy.net/b-fiveminutes.shtml
The movie is called "five minutes to live" and her picture is at the
very bottom right. I don't really know if it's her but it sure looks
like her.
Tell me what you think.

Just my opininon.
I forgot to mention, Katie was in the movie "What Women Want", she was the girl in the part that said, " kissing a girl once doesn't mean I'm a lesbian, does it?"
Isn't it funny how the two ( to me anyway) have this weird connection? Anyway, I wanted Mercedes to win and quite frankly, I am suprized that Katie lasted til the final 3.

I contacted you privately about not having conversations with a certain

Fabufit,
I don't care about your personal vendetta against Stacy. It has
nothing to do with the Starlet or why everyone else has joined this
list. I don't care what Stacy may have said to you in a private
email; she is not bothering everyone on the list by constantly
parading around personal feelings. I know that you can be helpful
sometimes, but I think you have been wasting a lot of people's time as
well. I would like to urge the moderators and anyone else who feels
that Fabufit should keep personal feelings and insults out of group
posts to let Fabufit know about it. I am disappointed that we can't
all just be civil and focused. Thank you for your time,

p.s. I am also going to forward your abusive private emails to yahoo.

First and foremost, I am female. Secondly, you have now proven
yourself to be a liar and ruined your own character. To my knowledge
it is impossible to ADD text to an ORIGINAL forwarded email. You
seemed like someone who would lie, which is exactly why I forwarded
the message below and and didn't reply to your private email address:
http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/The_Starlet/message/89
If the moderator wants temporary access to my mailbox you can see the
original email she sent me. I have nothing to hide. It's a free email
account and there is nothing personal in my mailbox. I can always
change the password later.
Third, I think any member who is on a public board bragging about
having someone's home address and full name hoping others will
request the details to start mischief, should be removed from the
group. I'd personally like to chat with the indivdual who knows this
woman. She is obviously mentally disturbed. Email me.

Look I dont know what his (fabs) facination is with me but Id
appreciate it if he would just forget me. I dont know what his deal
is with me anyway.
I posted something about Katie
Fab had a cow that I liked her and was rude about it
I addressed it and tried to end it
he continued to have a cow and be rude
I was rude back
I sent him a letter requesting him to get over, blocked him and left
the group.
He added some very nasty things to the original letter I sent him in
an effort to defame my character and then sent it to the group.
and now continues to talk about me?
Is anyone going to do anything? BOB? Sir Links?
I obviousally have not been removed even though i requested to leave
the group and I continue to get posts. I have tried to mind my own
business and ignore him.
This other thing is a private situation between Jen and I and does
not concern him right?
This is so stupid and immature that I have to deal with this
stupidity and harassment.
If you can not calm your boy down PLEASE for christs sake.... let me
leave this group and quit getting these rediculous posts.
I have a life.
Stacy
BTW, read my last few messages to catch up to speed on this woman's

Isn't this ironic. You've posted more than one message claiming to
know the last name of Mercedes, where she lives, and even commented
on her family page, but have the audactity to get leary when someone
knows the same about you?
Isn't this Rich! It's ok for you to imply that you have private
details about someone else, but it's dangerous for you. Ridiculous.
I'm curious to hear what this woman is like in person. Do tell Sunday.
