I agree with you that it set up for something A movie possibly, but I would like to see a spin off where you actually get to see what Vic is doing with ICE.
I thought it was a really good ending as well, but I saw that comming that Vic would be alone. Cause last season when they said it would be the last they kept playing the song hurt, and if you listen to it it says "what have I become..", " I will make you hurt.." and then something about you are all gone, but I am still here. So, as always I think the songs they pick are for a reason and really coralate to the program. I would also have to say that whoever it is that picks the songs for this show does an awsome job, because they are always the best.
I also had a feeling that Shane would commit suicide however I was somewhat surprised that he took Jackson with him.
I will definately miss the show, but it had a hell of a run and I would rather see it go out with a bang rather than fade away because people lost interest, and they did just that, so I think we can all be happy for that.

I am one of those who is happy Vic was able to walk free. But man what a hell he will be in. Ronnie, well I am disappointed that he was busted. I think Vic should have given him a better warning that the shoe was gonna drop then to yell at him while they were already in the Barn. Shane's exit was a surprise. Very shocking to me. But he was at the end of his rope. Vic teasing him aabout visiting his kids probably pushed that last button.
Kimmy, I agree, Vic lost everything. What about that warm reception he got at the barn? Oh well, Vic will walk free. Continue to bend (break) the rules. Challenge his superiors. He is truly the anti-hero. Notice at the end of show, he is NOT gonna sit at a desk the next 3 yrs. I also think that it sets up a possible future 2 hr movie on FX for The Shield. Or perhaps a big screen movie like "Sex and the City". It was a bittersweet ending that is for sure.

It will take me a little bit to gather all of my thoughts.
Vic got away with it all. All the Vic fans should be happy.
He lost all his friends. He lost all his respect. He lost his kids. He lost the action of his job.
He got off paying for his sins working a 9-5 job, for three years. He will not get an extension.
But enough of Vic. As a character ending, I was a little upset. But Michael Chiklas did not disappoint. I believed every moment. He is an awesome actor, and no one could have matched his intensity. I look forward to watching him with other endevors.
The scenes with Shane were the episode for me. And although Mara & Shane annoyed me 1000%, I actually cried. The roles were acted so well. The filming, and the photography should win an emmy.
I was disappointed a little about Dutch, and the kid. I wanted closure, or something on the edge of my seat.
Ronnie,
Corrine, the kids, Aceveda.. seemed a little short sided.
And why bring in the guy from OutKast?
As a series finale, I might appreciate this later.
