The time has finally come. The apocalypse is upon us. It's the end
of an era. For the better part of the last decade Buffy and then
Angel have been a huge part of my life. I didn't mourn so completely
when Buffy ended as i'm mourning now because i knew that my Dark
Prince (Angel) would be there to comfort me. I knew i'd still have
my Joss induced joy for an hour every week but now it's over.
Joss Whedon did more for tv that 90% of writers out there put
together. He dared to step outside of the mold and make something
new, and meaningful, and real. Something you could care about.
Characters you identified with and loved. He made me laugh, and
curse (him, myself, and the whole world in general), and cry, and
cry, and cry. He shared this dark forbidden world with us, made us
want it, crave it. So to Joss, thanks for that. Thank you for making
something that wasn't mindless drivel. You'll never know what it did
for me, how much it meant.
And Angel(us)....the characters that had thousands of females
swooning, panting, fantasizing, begging...uh, sorry, got off track.
Angel and his band of friends gave me something to believe in. The
writers and actors gave it their all for almost 5 years, 8 if you
count the people who moved over from BTVS, and created this whole
world you could escape to for a little while, that was a little more
exciting, a little more dangerous, a little darker, and a little
sexier than Real Life all at the same time.
So thanks, to everyone. The writers, actors, Joss: The All-Knowing
Creator, my fellow fans, the make-up, costume, and f/x people,
everyone. Thanks for making this big consuming wonderful thing that
was Angel.
Don't ever forget. Keep it alive with fanfic, by buying merchandise,
any way you can.
Let Angel, Spike, Wes, Lorne, Gunn, Fred, Cordelia, Harmony, Dru,
Darla, Connor, Doyle, Buffy, Willow, Xander, Dawn, Principals Snyder
and Flutie, Joyce, Giles, Faith, Glory, Kendra, Tara...and all the
other beloved and/or hated characters, live forever.
