My guess is they're just packaging it on its own for the first time - previously
only available when you bought the GAH - Season 1 DVD set, etc.

But interesting...

The only things I can see are (some far fetched, some we can think about):

1. The Stay Tuned TV series actually came to an agreement with Cannell.com to
sell the web series, and they have been doing more to the pilot episode to turn
it into a movie. I found it odd they stopped the series.

2. They are re-releasing this episode with some additional features, such as
photos they would've used for PR had the show been picked up. I noticed with the
"Doctor Who" TV movie they did promo photos for the movie, and from the looks of
things Daphne Ashbrook (Grace) probably would've returned to the show, but not
Yee Jee Tso (Lee).

3. This is a release for the Japanese versions, given they did the pilot itself
as separate release from the seasons.

These are the only things I know of right now. I personally wouldn't be
surprised/disappointed with any of these options.

Well, noticing the cover here, it looks like indeed that the first one I made
here is fake.

That said, given that they're doing movies, and that the other three listed are
at least 90 minute TV movies, we may seriously have a full-length GAHeroine
episode here.

On a personal note, I'm mixed on them doing a full-length release now - I've
read a summary of the script from Mona on the main board, and will say that we
may not want to see the full-length here.

I might get this one if the price is right simply because the other three movies
in the collection look good. That said, I don't know what we're going to get
here.

This seems like a possibility. Could be cool.

Not sure what you mean by this. The Japanese release of the pilot episode
comes with a bonus disc that has the US (Anchor Bay) Season 1 bonus content
on it, including "Heroine". Do you mean repackaging this disc for the US
market?

I've read this script, called "Take Two". I've always wondered how much of
it they shot to show to NBC before turning it into a syndicated episode. It
seems like there must have been changes to the episode, because I doubt they
would shop a pilot that had the original series' opening credits on it.

Anyway, the script had extended scenes in the first half with Ralph as well
as in the second half with Holly, so even if you're (understandably) not a
great fan of Holly, you'd get more Ralph. I think it would be fun just to
have new material in the GAH-verse.

The original "GAH" pilot - Ralph getting the suit - was put on a separate

I think the biggest changes were Holly doesn't wear the suit in the bar scene in
the script and I think she doesn't actually have the day care at the high school
(even though it is still implied that it is in the HS given Ralph spies in on
her feeding the rabbit).

I have wondered if it'd been better to say that it was an After school program
and had Holly do more age-appropriate arts and crafts. Even Four year olds don't
do much handpainting, even when I was a child of the '80s.

Still - I do not fault Katt for turning it down - "Mason" did very well, and it
wouldn't have been the same still unless Connie was in it. We can thank ABC not
letting her do a second show on a rival network, and I don't know of many who
could play Christine in her place on "Hotel." I think had Connie been able to do
both, it'd been more tempting for Katt to return on top of the already good
monetary incentives to put on the suit again. (Though I'd been just as upset if
I had to wear a SHINY red suit. Seriously... that looked horrid on him. The red
duller fabric is better on a male).

I have checked 4 Target stores and not found it yet. I looked on the shelves
and also asked an employee at each store. At all of the stores I was told
that they couldn't find the item in their database. I did ask one of them
that question about Sunday, because most movies release on Tuesdays, and
they confirmed that Tuesday would be a more likely day. So I will check
later in the week.

I will say that none of my nearby Targets are particularly big stores and
might not be "select" enough for a limited distribution like this.

I can't find the item on the Target Web site either, for what that's worth.
But I don't know if everything is on their Web site.

I haven't been able to get to a Target, but I will try in mine. They usually
order these because they sell well.

There *is* a chance here though the more I think about it that "GAheroine" was
not supposed to be released like this and they're pulling it afterall.

I do not think though it was a joke release.

No luck from my side here in the Chicago area.

I was also hoping it might pop up on eBay at some point, but a search on

I never found it either, but there's a thread over on the forums about it, and
it looks like "Heroine" is the same episode we all know and love. ;-)

Well, I'm a Robert Culp fan through and through but enjoyed this little pearl
from the past. This website shows William Katt's audition to get the role of
Luke Skywalker, and he's acting with Kurt Russell, who is Han Solo.

Also, there is a radio interview link with him for a comic convention he's
attending this weekend.

Downloaded the torrent of the complete 3 seasons as originally broadcast
episodes (with original music etc) but the audio is only on one channel. Any
advice? I was actually only looking for a few episodes that I don't have but
decided to download the whole torrent. I have 40 of the 45 episodes on DVD-R
from my own VHS collection back in the day. Great quality and WITH actual
commercials from the day. So fun to watch. Commercials for Star Wars figures

Wow! Thanks for posting that here (ltns everyone!).

Yeah, I wouldn't be too surprised if this was a direct influence, what with SJC
being very good at capturing the zeitgeist of the moment in all his concepts you
know he was taking a lot in.

So sad we can't ask him about this stuff anymore.

Hello New to the group. Thot I'd pop in and say howdy.

So anyway,. I've been watching the GAH dvd set. I have to say there is a lot
of really good music in this show. Sometimes the singers of the songs will be
listed at the end credits. But in one case I'm wondering about........ I think
it's at the end of the "biker" episode, but I'd have to watch them all over
again to see....... but anyhoo. The song played at the end of the show....
(It's a Lonesome feelin' when you're travlein, down a lonesome
road............and so on...... Does anyone know who is singing that? Is it
Joey Scarbury? It's an old blue-grassy song, but the version on the dvd is
fantastic!

Just wondered if anyone knows who is signing the song.

Kinda sad tho, that they had to cut some songs.

guess that's it.......
thanks for any help,..........

Hey, welcome to a mostly dormant Yahoo! group, New Guy.

Lonesome Feeling is the title track of this Herb Pedersen album, with vocals by
Billy Henson. Not absolutely sure that's the version used in GAH, but since
there are Scarbury tracks on there as well, it seems likely.

Cheers!
