Maybe Jerris really isn't that bad after all. IT's good that she can take
things lightly and poke fun at herself. That was one of the funniest quotes
I've read about Jerri, and she said it!

Only prob was - she went on the tour and people just realized that it WAS

Q: At the town-hall discussion after the final
episode, how did you feel when Kel said he didn't like
you and that he'd never give you a Christmas card?
J: I really don't care. If I spent my life worrying
about people who didn't like me, I'd go insane. When
you put yourself in front of the public, you're
setting yourself up to be scrutinized. Out of 16
people, if there's only one walking away saying he
doesn't like me, I think that's pretty good odds. And
as far as Christmas cards go, they just sit on the
refrigerator and gather dust.
Q: Do you still stand by your jerky story?
J: Yes! Kel had beef jerky. I'm telling you, I saw it.
There isn't a shadow of doubt in my mind.
Q: And what about the nasty things Colby has said? Do
those still sting?
J: I made a truce with Colby. I thought it was better
if I approached him, since he obviously wouldn't have
approached me. It felt good just to shake hands, give
each other a hug and move on.
It's a very strange situation. In the context of this
game, you have people saying horrible things about
each other, but when you get outside of that
environment, it's easier to be human and be nicer to
each other. Even Keith and I said our piece, which
felt really good. He ended up giving me a signed
cookbook after all.
Q: Sounds therapeutic.
J: It was a great night. There was lots of closure,
which was very important to a lot of us. Especially
Debb. Debb made a poignant comment; she broke down and
shared a very personal feeling she had. It was a very
real moment. I don't think any of us knew she was
going through such a traumatic experience. To admit
that on national television was quite moving.
Q: Do you relate to that feeling? You've had more than
a few ugly comments tossed your way.
J: I'm not going to lie. When I got back, and the show
started running and I saw the way everything was
going, I was a little blown away and hurt by what
people had to say. But they were basing that opinion
on what they saw on the show, and that's it. I felt
peace knowing that after I was voted off, I got to go
on this huge press tour and just be myself. And then
people could get to know me--all the other sides of
Jerri. I have a great sense of humor, and I'm a very
kind person. That didn't come out in the show at all.
Q: There are rumors that you went through some
posttraumatic stress because of it all. Is that true?
J: Absolutely. We all did. It was a very traumat

Q: Waiting so long to find out who won must have been
torturous.
Jerri: There was a lot of anticipation. I'm sure for
Colby and Tina it was tenfold, but for us, too. That
night, I was still kind of in awe about Colby choosing
Tina over Keith. It still blows me away. Not a good
move if you want to win a million dollars. We all knew
that if he had chosen Keith, Colby would have walked
away with the check--period. He claims he hasn't lost
any sleep over it, but I don't believe that.

arketing potential, Dorfman,
the executive creative director at Pickett
Advertising, puts Tina in the high- bucks stratum with
Colby Donaldson and Elisabeth Filarski.
She's the "million-dollar mom" with the "endearing
Tennessee drawl," he says, and perfect for an array of
"soccer mom" endorsements -- for Cheer detergent,
McDonald's and Dodge Caravan.
Dorfman figures that Colby will make up in
endorsements what he lost by his strategic error that
allowed Tina to win the show.
"Clearly the commercial stud of the bunch, Colby's the
sexiest Survivor so far," Dorfman says. "And he knows
how to sell. When he won that Pontiac Aztek in a
challenge, he actually made this clunker of a vehicle
seem cool."
Look for him in Jockey briefs or in Levi's jeans,
Dorfman says. I'll watch for him on a Harley, too. If
Harley-Davidson hasn't already sent Colby the
motorcycle he said he wanted, they're missing a sure
bet.
Dorfman classifies Elisabeth as the "perky,
fresh-face" type, like Colleen of the original
"Survivor." Great for Pert shampoo or Clairol
products. Or for an AT&T long-distance spot with her
pal Rodger Bingham.
Rodger, Jerri Manthey and Maralyn Hershey are in
Dorfman's next group. Jerri might turn up in Playboy,
or in a "bitch" role on TV. Maralyn seemed to be
auditioning for endorsements during the "Survivor"
reunion special on Thursday. Dorfman's thinking
"products made for the over-50 woman -- Metamucil,
Depends, Polident or menopause drugs."
A VIAGRA PITCHMAN?
My own hope is that Rodger stays aloof from the
commercial pit. Dorfman sees him noting that "nothing
rides like a (John) Deere." Or worse, pitching Viagra.
Say it ain't so, Kentucky Joe.
Alicia Calaway, Jeff Varner, Amber Brkich and Nick
Brown occupy Dorfman's next rung. Nick, he says, is
"smart, handsome and well-chiseled, but seriously
lacking in charisma." Still, maybe a modeling gig.
Lower still are Michael Skupin, Kimmi Kappenberg and
the third-place Survivor, Keith Famie. On Keith:
"There's just something about him that rubs you the
wrong way. A Detroit chef (isn't that an oxymoron?)
who can't even cook rice, he'll probably wind up with
his own cooking show."
Dorfman's advice to Skupin, the bloodstained slayer of
wild pigs and the show's eventual burn victim: Think
Ginsu knives and Hormel bacon. Not bad, but I'm

Half a day after she won the $1 million grand prize

She was in a full-page ad in USA Today, neck deep in
bathwater and with a "got milk?" mustache splayed
across her upper lip.
For reasons well known to "Survivor" viewers, it was
perversely fitting that Tina would turn up first in a

She can go right on milking her "Survivor" celebrity

Well...since you posted to the public list, I guess I'll respond to
you on the public list.
Susan, you misconstrued my post. I would ask that you re-read
it a little more carefully. Any "dig" was directed at Tina opening
her big mouth in public...I made NO DISPARAGING REMARKS
ABOUT HER SON. Okay?
Let me make my point a little clearer: her son may be
tender-hearted -- and I personally find nothing wrong with being
tender-hearted -- but if Tina shares that kind of information about
him in public on national TV, his schoolmates & the
neighborhood kids are going to hear about it and tease him.
Contrary to your post, I never advocated that anyone *should*
tease him....I said that it *would* happen as a result of her
insensitivity to the position she was placing him in. Those are
two different things. If I say that something will happen, that does
not mean that I agree with the people responsible for carrying it
out.
In summary: I'm not criticizing Tina's son. I AM criticizing Tina.
Okay?

"SURVIVOR 2" runner-up Colby Donaldson, criticized for
allegedly taking a dive to allow Tina Wesson to win,
yesterday said he chose to go into the final round
against her because he feared becoming like Richard
Hatch - the conniving champion of the original

Still, Donalson conceded to Howard Stern that he might
have been more devious - more Hatch-like - if
it's because he already has money.

I finally got around to taking that quiz. Given the not-so-nice things I
have said about him, you will all be as surprised as I am that the S2
Survivor I am most like is -- Colby! Of course, that quiz did base its
conclusions on rather superficial factors.
Still -- is there anyone else on this list who would have been unsurprised
