Who else here thinks that 'STACEY'(SI Model Search) looks soooo much like 'Brooke Burns' ie: nicole out of "north shore"; & jesse(jessica) out of "baywatch hawaii" you know she was Jason's GF for awhile? Or is it just me cos i think they could be twins, like, for real???

I don't know how to help you there, but if you do get to be one of the
models, I hope you don't do such suggestive poses they have those
young women in.

I did watch the last one to see who won. I don't think any model
should be asked to pose topless if she does not want to. I suppose on
a reality show anyone will see some thing they find offensive or
stupid.

Someone said that had interviewed the one model what's the URL.

BTW I voted for alicia.

Yes, I believe you can show pride in your body by sitting in a lawn
chair in a tasteful, ladylike pose. That is much better than being
on all fours with your butt up in the air, especially on national
television!

As for questions for the Christian lady, let me think...I suppose
you could ask her how SHE feels about the young ladies who were on
all fours with their butt up in the air? And how she feels about
fellow women judging and being in charge of this show, making it
appear that posing like this is acceptible behavior?

I know that guys want to look at ladies. But if these ladies didn't
pose the way they did--especially in pornographic magazines, or in
porn movies or in strip clubs and such--there wouldn't be any porn
industry. Men would have better respect for the ladies. Women who do
these things just keep it all going.

Btw, I am a writer, too--actually more of an ex-writer; I did
freelance reporting for the local newspaper for years, writing
features and profiles probably similar to what you do. It was fun
but I got kinda burnt out on it and am glad to be away from it for
awhile.

So you can show pride in your body by sitting in a lawn chair in a
skimpy swimsuit, as long as your legs are crossed? OK, got it.

You and her father would get along well. His response when he found
out was, "I hope you wore a lot of leis!"

> So you interview these young ladies, right?

Yes, I do. I'll be interviewing the Christian model tomorrow. And
I'll be sure to ask her a question just for you. If you have
anything else you'd like me to ask her let me know, and I'll see
what I can do.

> I suppose you compliment them about their appearance and photos,

If you mean do I say, "I love the way you posed on all fours with
your butt in the air," no, I don't say that. If you mean, do I
say "You looked great on the runway" or "Your photos from the recent
photo shoot looked really good," then yes, sometimes I do.

> Young guys watching this will think women are just
> supposed to natural "strut their stuff" and show off their body by

First, I'd question your use of the term "gyrating." Gyrating means
to "move around on an axis" or to "move in a spiral motion". It is
also a synonym for "turn". While the models do turn to change
positions, they are not rotating or revolving, which is the kind of
turning to which "gyrating" refers.

> What kind of message does that send?

It sends the message that we live in a commercial society. Where
there is a demand, you can be sure that someone will come up with a
way to supply that demand. If guys want to look at young women of
legal age (a human behavior that is not only completely normal, it's
a rite of passage), someone will find a way to take pictures of
young women to view. In this case, that "way" is called modeling.

As for posing in "gyrating unladylike, suggestive positions", that's
a subjective interpretation, to which you are welcome. I, on the
other hand, feel differently.

It is definitely more the positions. The part I caught a glimpse of
was when some of them were on all fours with their butt up in the
air. That is totally uncalled for. While I don't really approve of
the skimpy bikinis these days, it is the style, so I try to accept
it. And I probably would not say anything to a young lady wearing a
very revealing swimsuit. For instance, I frequently post on the
Yahoo headline boards, and one young woman has a profile photo of
herself in a string bikini. But she is sitting in a lawn chair in a
very ladylike position, legs together and crossed at the ankles, her
arms on the armrest of the chair, and just smiling nicely into the
camera. I even complimented her on the photo. I mean, she was not in
some extremely provocative position, or holding her boobs or
anything. Just sitting there tastefully posed.

As for a Christian posing topless, it sounds like she was fairly
covered up...but even so, you really have to be careful and don't
overstep the limits of good taste.

You also don't have to do those things you mentioned in order to
show pride in your body. Being proud of your body does not mean
posing or being in contests. You can be proud of your body and just
do everyday things!

So you interview these young ladies, right? I suppose you compliment
them about their appearance and photos, further instilling the
notion in them that what they are doing is okay?

Again, it is one thing to pose in a swimsuit--even if it is skimpy--
but what I object to is the way these models are posing--the
positions they often are in. It definitely projects the wrong image,
and then young people watching these shows think it is okay to do
things like this. Young guys watching this will think women are just
supposed to natural "strut their stuff" and show off their body by
gyrating in unladylike, suggestive positions. What kind of message
does that send?

OK, NOW we are getting somewhere! So is it the positions or the
bikinis or both of which you do not approve? I got the feeling it
was just the bikinis.

Perhaps I should have described it better. Yes, she was topless, but
she was wearing several Hawaiian-style floral leis that covered a
good 90% of her breasts. So she was topless, but her breasts were
(mostly) covered.

> Really, a Christian would not pose topless.

So are you calling her a liar?

> As I said, there is nothing wrong with being proud of your body.

Isn't posing nude just another way of showing pride in your body? It
seems posing in bikinis is also totally inappropriate.

There are only a few ways I can think of to show pride in one's
body, aside from posing nude

1) Bt modeling (whether with clothes or without) - Something of
which you don't seem to approve because of the positions in which
the models pose

2) By wearing a skimpy bikini -- Something of which you do not seem
to approve

3) Entering a body building contest (where the women also wear
bikinis) -- To me (notice the qualifier), this kind of showing off
of a woman's body is not attractive. Since these women wear bikinis
as well and show bulging muscles, which are certainly unladylike, I
doubt you would approve of this either.

So just how would you suggest a woman show pride in her body?

I know that these young ladies are wearing swimsuits.
But what I saw on the TV show was them gyrating around
in extremely suggestive positions, like being on all
fours with their butts up in the air. That is sooo
unladylike and gives a completely wrong impression.

I don't understand what you mean about the Christian
model--you said she did a topless photo shoot but her
breasts were covered. Was she topless or not? Really,
a Christian would not pose topless. Of course you can
be a "sexy Christian", but we need to have a sense of
modesty, and that does not mean topless. That is just
going too far.

I'm sure Denise Richards is proud of her body,
otherwise she wouldn't do it. As I said, there is
nothing wrong with being proud of your body. But
posing nude is totally inappropriate. It's obvious she
doesn't feel she is lowering herself. But she really
is. She is just misguided, that's all. She thinks it's
okay because Hollywood, or the media says it's okay,
it's like it is expected of these women for their
career. But it's not how women should behave.

But getting back to models, they are far from being nude. They are
showing off their bodies while keeping all their strategic parts
covered, and you don't approve of that either.

One of the models describes herself as a Christian with morals and
principles, yet she had no problem doing a topless bikini shoot
because her breasts were covered. According to her, "There's nothing
in the Bible that says you can't be a sexy Christian." Is she also
not intelligent enough to know better? Was she also raised badly?

>It's a shame she has lowered herself to do these things.

What if Denise Richards is proud of her body and doesn't consider
such a photo shoot as "lowering herself"?

> But even an adult woman shouldn't be doing this. It's just not
> right.

Who is to say that it's not right? Morality is a very subjective
thing. You say it's not right; I say there's nothing wrong with it.
There is no law against wearing a bikini and having your photo
taken. There's also no law against NOT wearing a bikini and having
your photo taken (as long as it's not done in public where people
have no choice BUT to see you naked).

> That's not what we teach our daughters. I don't know why you can't
> see this.

Perhaps because I am more open-minded when it comes to sexiness. The
male body is utilitarian; The female body is a thing of beauty. If
you had a Heaven-sent gift, wouldn't it be almost criminal to let it
go to waste?

These women were born with Heaven-sent attractive looks. All the
human-made makeup and other products just enhances one's natural
beauty; it can't make someone ugly instantly beautiful. So these
women are just making sure that their Heaven-sent gifts don't go to
waste. Is that so bad? If people want to pay them for use of those
gifts, so much the better for these women. They decide for whom to
work.

> Are you affiliated with this show somehow?

The only way I am "affiliated" with this show is that I recap it for
a reality TV website and interview eliminated contestants. I am more
a part of the media, than a part of the show.

The thing is, people like Denise Richards are ACTRESSES. They are in
the type of business where doing things like posing in the nude
seems okay, but it's really not. They may be intelligent, but they
are caught up in this lifestyle. I have seen Denise Richards on talk
shows, and she seems so sweet. It's a shame she has lowered herself
to do these things. She really wouldn't have to. She could keep her
clothes on and maintain her dignity and respect. But it's like these
actresses think they HAVE to do these things to be accepted.

I don't think you would want your daughter posing for Playboy, even
if she were 18. That is still such a young age to make a decision
like that. You are still a teenager! But even an adult woman
shouldn't be doing this. It's just not right. And yes, there is a
huge difference between being proud of your body and going too far
by doing something like displaying it for the world to see. You
don't just go "showing it off" for strangers. That's not what we
teach our daughters. I don't know why you can't see this.

Are you affiliated with this show somehow? If so, in what way? Do
you know of a mailing address I could send a letter to?

Thanks for a good chuckle.

People like Denise Richards and Teri Polo, who have millions of
dollars and could never want for money in their lifetimes are
intelligent women. They didn't get that way by being ignorant to the
ways of the world. Are you telling me that they aren't intelligent
enought to know that appearing nude is "wrong"?

And just what exactly are your credentials for being the arbiter of
what is appropriate and what is inappropriate for people to do with
their own bodies?

> Would you raise your daughter to pose in suggestive movements like
> that on TV? Would you raise your daughter to pose nude in Playboy?

I'd raise my daughter to make her own decisions. After all, you can
only pose in Playboy if you are at least 18. And whether I like it
or not, 18-year-olds are adults. I'd caution my daughter that in
this age of the Internet, those pictures -- should she choose to go
ahead with them -- would never die and could pop up later in life
when she least expects them to, but that it would be her choice to
make.

> It's sad that these ladies must not have been taught these very

I'd be interested to know how you define modesty and respect for the
body. It seems to me, that modesty and respect to you means covering
up your body, but you said it's OK for people to be proud of their
bodies. If you're proud of something, isn't it only natural to want
to show it off? Therein lies the paradox.

Pride and modesty seem to be complementary to you; but to me they
seem like polar opposites.

The reason these ladies actively approach magazines to appear nude
in them is because they honestly don't know any better. They just
don't realize what they are doing is not right. Again, this is not
about being ashamed of your body or anything; we all should be proud
of our bodies. But there is a difference between being proud of your
body, and doing something inappropriate, which is displaying it for
all to see, or gyrating around in extremely suggestive poses on
national TV, as these swimsuit models do. Would you raise your
daughter to pose in suggestive movements like that on TV? Would you
raise your daughter to pose nude in Playboy? I don't think any of us
do that. We try to teach our daughters a sense of modesty, respect
for their bodies. That's not being ashamed of them, but it's know
what is appropriate and what is not. It's sad that these ladies must
not have been taught these very basic principles.

Ummm, no. YOU think it's terrible; I don't.

> I think most people would agree with me on this.

And I think most people would agree with me, so I guess we're going
to have to agree to disagree.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue is the biggest selling issue
of any magazine on the newsstand today for a reason, and I'm fairly
certain it's not because of the articles.

Let's take this issue one step further. What do you think of
Victoria Secret catalogues? And what about stores like Fredericks of
Hollywood?

An even better question: What does it say that sensible,
respectable, intelligent women *choose* to pose nude in Playboy? I'm
going to go out on a limb here and say you probably think of it
as "filth" and "degrading to women", but answer me this: If that's
true, why do women actively try to appear in the magazine? And why
do celebrities, who have enough money to start their own magazines,
approach the magazine *of their own free will* with an interest in
appearing nude in its pages? We live in a commercial society: if
such a magazine really did degrade women, word would get around and
the magazine in question wouldn't last one year, let alone 50, like
Playboy has!

Newsflash: this isn't the 1950s anymore. In the 21st century, sex
sells, lingerie is big business, and women posing in sexy bikinis is
not as scandalous in this day and age as you're making it out to be.

Oh for heaven's sake, it does NOT say I'm a "prude". Just because
you think it's terrible for young women to gyrate their bodies in
these obscene positions in skimpy swimsuits on national television
does not mean you are a prude. I think most people would agree with
me on this. I don't know anybody who would pose like this. It's
kinda sad; makes you wonder how these young ladies were raised, if
they think nothing of doing things like this. And then somebody like
you, to say such an insulting thing to a grown woman. Geez!

Thanks for the compliment. To date I have done interviews with
Sabrina, Stella, Betti and Jenna for the same site and just finished
an interview with Stacy earlier today for my next interview. (Use
the site's search feature to find the links to the interviews. Look
for the Stacy Interview on Monday at http://www.realitynewsonline.com

And if you go to that site and click on the Episode Five recap,
there's a link in the article to an exit poll where you can vote for
Alicia or Shannon (It's not an official poll, just for fun).

Glad you liked the article.

It says you're a prude.

hi, does anyone know how i could find the turquoise and yellow
halter bikini that Shannon wore on last night's episode? it had
shimmery half circles in yellow and white on the top and the bottoms
were both turquoise and yellow.

I caught a few minutes of this show when it first ran, and was
shocked! I couldn't believe the positions these young women were
posing in; on their hands and knees with their butts sticking up in
the air, gyrating around in skimpy swimsuits, etc. And then there
were actually women along with men in charge of this thing, making
it seem like it's okay. I mean, if a fellow woman would approve of
these women in such poses, what does that say? And then guys,
especially young guys--watching this show will think that it's okay
for women to be gyrating around in such suggestive moves. It's just
not right. I can't believe these young women would do this on
national TV. Does anyone know where I can write to the people in
charge of this show? I found the official website but there is no
mailing address.

I just read your interview. It was really great!

I can't believe they made her put that wig on!!! Just to show you
that they wanted her out of there. It seems she was too much
competition for the rest...too bad....she was one of my favorites to
win. Her look is just wow!! classic yet exotic. I love her!!

I saw her site and was amazed on all the different kinds of work she
has done. She is definitely a professional model. Good for
her....she doesn't need Joel!!!!

What was the semi torture scene supposed to prove; who can take pain
the longest. I may just tune out after seeing that.

Watch for a new interview with Stella. It should appear at
http://www.realitynewsonline.com on Monday morning. If you missed
any of the episodes, you can also read detailed recaps at that site.

I think that this show is kind of lame and I can't believe how they
copied off ANTM. It can't even hold a candle to Tyra's show.

I saw it last night and it was a real dissappointment. When they
made that black girl go ethnic and wear that big afro I knew the
show was stupid right then. I'm black and even I know that no black,
afro wearing model will hit the front cover of Sports Illustrated.
She knows it too, which is why she was so mad. I felt bad for her.

I'm not sure I'll watch it again.

I thought she was garenteed to make the cut. She was certainly more
beautiful than some that made the cut & the personality was there
too! Any Thoughts???
