Yes, I saw Sela, but on Entertainment Tonight.
There was a mini bit on her, as well as her talking to
Mary Hart and Steven Cojocaru. Sela was explaining to
Mary that she had to be rescued from her limo with a
golf cart. She missed the red carpet and couldn't show
off her dress. Anyways, she will be in the upcoming
issue of InStyle magazine modelling 1930's era
clothing.
It is a shame that Hugh did not win the Emmy.

Your welcome for the picture, I found a couple of others I might
put up.
I got a surprise on Tuesday night watching the local news. Here in
Kingston, Ontario we have one TV station since it's not a huge
town. But they were doing a campaign to get supplies to send down
to the area affected.
News director said they phoned around and a TV station in
Mississippi agreed to help distribute the transport truck of
supplies. Then they said what town it was.... Meridian,
Mississippi. :-0 The odds of it being Sela's hometown must've been
pretty small.
So Wednesday I went and dropped off some canned food and baby
wipes. Baby wipes is on the list of things they need, never thought
of stuff like that. This was from the news report. [sorry for the
all caps it's how it was written on the website]
THE TRUCK WILL THEN BE DRIVEN TO MERIDIAN, MISSISSIPPI -- WHICH
HAS TAKEN IN ABOUT 6-THOUSAND REFUGEES.
News Director : "THE RED CROSS WAS ACCEPTING MONETARY DONATIONS
AND WE KNEW THAT PEOPLE WERE DOING THAT THROUGH THE CANADIAN RED
CROSS. SO WE THOUGHT..WELL HOW CAN WE GET SOME SUPPLIES DOWN THERE.
SO WE CALLED UP TV STATIONS AROUND THE AREA AND CHANNEL 11
MERIDIAN WAS MORE THAN HAPPY TO HEAR THAT WE WERE HOPING TO DO
SOMETHING AND SAID YES PLEASE BRING IT ON DOWN.....WE NEED IT."
Truck is still there filling up, once it's filled it will drive
down there. Local company donated the truck and a driver so it's no
cost.
It's cool that the stuff I got will actually be used in Sela's
hometown to help out. Small thing but fact that a bunch of Canucks
up in a town like this are doing this is quite nice.
Rob
Thanks so much for putting this photo up. It is really nice!

I don't understand why House was so hard on Cameron. Was it because
he wanted to see if she would pursue her case as he would? Was it
because he knew that the girl was dying of cancer and he just wanted
Cameron to find that our for herself? Was this a teaching lesson? I
was confused. And did erasing "acceptance" on the board in the
closing scene mean anything to any of you? I thought House was just
putting closure on both cases, but others think it may have meant
putting closer on his and Stacys relationship. I didn't take it as
that, but then sometimes I can be pretty dense. I know he was mad
because Stacy told on him but I'm pretty sure he expected her to...no?

Was at Algonquin College, at the old campus for one year then
switched to broadcasting at the newer campus. Liked the course a
lot, quite good. Tom Green took it a few years earlier, so I heard
some stories of crazy Tom from the teachers. LOL.
I saw the benefit concert, quite good. House is tomorrow looking
forward to that. Pretty sure Sela is in the premiere at least.

That is amazing! Ottawa is a small city, yet it is our
capital, which is strange. Where did you study, if I

I saw the Hurricane Benefit, and it was moving and
touching. Sela appeared at about the 36 minute mark of
the benefit. As usual, she was really wonderful.

Hi Ruthie and all members!
My name is Marian and I just signed up. It's so nice to see a group
devoted to Sela Ward, who is my favourite actress of all time.
I also loved her in Sisters, and of course, Once & Again.
Btw, the new dvd collection of the 2nd season of O&A is really great.
I am from Ottawa, Canada, and Hurricane Katrina's fury on Louisiana,
Mississippi and Alabama has been heart-wrenching to see.
We in Canada are all praying and sending aid, as we should.
Keep up the great work, Ruthie! ANd thanks for the Larry King
transcripts when Sela was on last Saturday.

In the FILES section I put up a House promotional picture of Sela
from Season 1. It's about 600KB but I thought I shouldn't shrink it
because it's quite nice.
Found out that Sela is going to be a part of this Friday's benefit
concert. Here is a news article mentioning it, airing
internationally so that should help the fundraising.

Shelter From The Storm: Concert For The Gulf Coast
Will Air Friday, September 9th At 8PM EST On CBS, UPN
(CBS) NEW YORK In a cooperative and collaborative effort, the six
broadcast networks announced plans last week to present "Shelter From
The Storm: A Concert For The Gulf Coast", a one-hour, commercial-free
simulcast on Friday, Sept. 9 (8:00-9:00 PM). The entertainment
special/fundraising event will salute the brave citizens in the
devastated areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama and pay
tribute to the rescue personnel guiding relief efforts in the region.
Sheryl Crow, Dixie Chicks, Alicia Keys, Randy Newman, Paul Simon, Rod
Stewart and Neil Young are among the performers initially scheduled
to appear. Among the initial celebrities slated to make appearances
are Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Ellen DeGeneres, Jack Nicholson,
Chris Rock, Ray Romano and Sela Ward.
In addition to "road blocked" coverage on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC,
The WB
and UPN, "Shelter From The Storm: A Concert For The Gulf Coast" will
also be carried live in the United States on ABC Family, Black Family
Channel, Bravo, E!, Fox Reality, FSN Ohio, FSN South, FSN West, FX,
G4 Media, Ovation, Oxygen, PAX, PBS, SOAPnet, TBS, Tennis Channel,
Trio, TV Guide Channel, TV One, USA Network and WGN. Internationally,
the special will also be broadcast in at least 95 countries on
programming services in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany,
Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, Taiwan, the
United Kingdom and virtually all of Asia and the Middle East.
"Shelter From The Storm: A Concert For The Gulf Coast" will be

and tape-delayed in the Mountain and Pacific time zones.
Joel Gallen, who produced the unprecedented "America: A Tribute
to
Heroes" telethon in September 2001, will executive produce the
special.
Thanks, Ruthie. I heard that he is doing a PSA for hurricane relief. He has
a bunch of family in Ms. and friends in New Orleans. He used to live in the
French Quarter until just a few years ago.
I sooooo can NOT wait for next week and HOUSE!
Nancy in Tn. :)
P.S. Thanks so much for the transcripts from Larry King.
During the hurricane a tree fell on one of the cottages at Hope
Village. No Children were hurt, thank God. If you would like to make a
donation to help them with repairs you may do so online via paypal at:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr
Thanks,Ruthie
Glad to join this group, nice to have a group again to discuss
things. Nice for Ruthie to start it up.
I only caught the last couple of episodes of House last year with
Sela in them but it's a great show. I'll start watching the new
season. It is a bit weird to see Hugh Laurie doing a US accent since
I remember him from "Blackadder". That's a british comedy they
showed a lot here in Canada. :)
I have a friend in Alabama and not sure how bad damage was there.
Just seems to get worse and worse. I'll miss Sela on Larry King but
I bet someone will have a recap.
I have some things I could contribute to the site, big scans of Sela
I found online. Sure people here will like them. :)

Hi Everyone! I'm so happy to be a part of the Sela Ward Official Fan
Club! Way to go, Ruthie! Finally, we have a place to celebrate one of
the finest, most kind and caring actresses in the business. It isn't
often you have the pleasure of experiencing an actress who is so
compelling on-screen and so genuine and real (and a great Mom to her
children and faithful wife to her husband, which is what impresses me
most)in everyday life. She is an amazing person and deserves all the
kudos we extend to her and more.
Peace,
jackie
Hi everyone,
I'm Johnny, yet another Alabama boy who loves Sela. "Boy" being a relative
term since I can remember when she was a cheerleader at UA. Some of you
may be familiar with me through my Sela Ward Appreciation Page.
Just a word or two of news:
Remember the second season of 'O&A' came out on DVD this week. I
actually forgot just how good it was!
And 'House' is on DVD next week. I would explain the "leg thing" but it's part
of
a very cool episode and relates to (even defines) Sela's character, Stacy
Warner, so I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet.
Glad to be aboard and involved with anything Ruthie puts together. Let's keep
this place alive with news and sharing.
Best!
Johnny
My name is Nancy and I am a huge fan of Sela's ever since ONCE & AGAIN
and don't ever get me started about when and why they canceled this
show!! I am very much looking forward to watching Sela on HOUSE, which
just happens to be my favorite tv show. I saw her last season and
thought she was FABULOUS and had GREAT chemistry with Hugh Laurie. May
she and the show go on for a very long time.
Nancy
P.S. Can someone here please tell me how House hurt his leg?
Hi everyone. Just wanted to post to thank Ruthie (and y'all) for
having me in the the Sela group. I look forward to some fun and
lively chats.
Best wishes and more soon ...
Jason Black
P.S. I ran into a Chi O sorority member (also a student of mine) here
at the Univ. of Alabama and made sure she asked her new pledges to
answer a "rush" question about Sela (Sela was a sister back in the 70s
here). Pleased to say, my student reported back, all the new recruits
answered the Sela question correctly! haha
Thanks Barb!
You are the very first post! I haven't even written a welcome message
yet...so Welcome to you and all others who find their way here!LOL
I love Sela's character on House...Stacey is my most favorite character
she has played now. Use to be Teddy but Stacey holds the title now!
Ruthie
She's beautiful and a fine actress too. Gosh, I miss Once & Again, but
am so happy she's on one of my current favorite series, House! Go, Sela!
Thanks, Ruthie, for creating this group. I may not post that often,
but I'll be reading the group!
