The competition is over, but "American Idol" rolls on for Bice, others
Friday, July 15, 2005
ALEC HARVEY
Bo Bice is a personable guy, but there are some things he just won't talk about.
Take his recent marriage to Caroline Fisher, for instance. Asked on the day that his publicist confirmed it, Bice still wouldn't let loose with the info.
"I'm saying I don't know," he said cryptically when asked when he had tied the knot. "I'm not going to answer that, but I appreciate everyone asking and wanting to know."
Next question, please.
We caught Bice, the 29-year-old "American Idol" runner-up from Helena, in a limo in LA on his way to a rehearsal for the "American Idols Live" tour, which is at the BJCC Arena tonight. References to fellow finalists Anthony Fedorov ("Shut up, Fedorov," Bice said playfully at one point), Anwar Robinson ("That's funny, Anwar") and Scott Savol ("Listen to Savol") make it clear that Bice is not alone.
And then there's Carrie Underwood, who beat Bice out for the "Idol" title.
"I'm going to milk this like a dairy farmer," Bice says of his "Idol" fame. And then, from Carrie: "Why did you just say that, because I grew up on a farm?"
Bice is obviously enjoying his new-found fame, whether it's touring with his TV buddies or working on his upcoming debut CD. Oh, and his CD single, "Inside Your Heaven" and "Vehicle," was at the top of the charts at one point.
Don't think Bice has left his old band, SugarMoney, behind. He often points people to sugarmoney.net, the band's Web site, and says he "wants to get them out on the road with me when I'm doing the Bo Bice gig."
Right this moment, though, his focus is on the concert tour, during which he rips through Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child."
"People are going to see me play guitar more, which is cool," Bice says. "It's a show for everybody, and I look forward to getting home."
Home is and always will be, to some degree, Helena.
"I'm probably going to get a place in Nashville, but Helena will always be home, and New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church will always be my home church," Bice says. "I'll always be there, even if I have to split my time."
But, in true, laid-back Bice fashion, he wouldn't change a thing.
"It truly is all good," he says. "God has been good to me every day."

Hey guys, I didn't want to say anything at first because I thought it was a one-pair fluke, but they have apparently released some more pairs of tickets for Cleveland in various sections. So... grab them a.s.a.p. for your Scotty-friends if they need some.
Scratchin' head and checking calendar... Normally wouldn't see this action for two more weeks... Also, they still have the option to open the side-view seats by the stage.
Those with a IPOD. I now have a POD Cast.If you don't know what I'm talking about never mind. Don't be a pain in the ass and expect me to explain. Sorry but some on the net get on my nerves with all their questions. Here is the Feed Link. http://www.garageband.com/user/shan12stoneslove/podcast/main.xml Those who have an Ipod can get my Podcast through Itunes. Yes it is free to listen to. It will be about Baseball, Music, Movies, My life and Whatever comes to mind. I can not add most songs I have to it thought because of Copy Right Laws. But some Indie bands I can have on my Pod Cast.If you want info on Podcasts don't ask me. One I'm to busy to answer people asking silly questions. Plus I only know what I have read. Bands I like that aren't Indie I will mention them and refer you to their web sites. That's all I can do. I'm no risking getting sued over stuff. Bye Shannon
The award show itself is very funny and "tongue in cheek", but the winners are all top-notch. I think one year Darrell Hammond of SNL won the Best Regis (impersonation) category. The show is set up so that Regis and/or Kelly themselves win some of the awards. The winners arrive via Red Carpet or receive their awards via satellite from a local station. They get a "Golden Stool". See photo here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6065511/
I have more Relly info on TheScottBoard Forums thread http://p101.ezboard.com/fthescottboardfrm2.showMessage?topicID=13.topic where you can see some listed choices for guests or co-hosts as well. You do not have to fill in all of the blanks, but I think it's better to fill in more than just Scott's on some of them to give more credibility in that you watch the show.
You can nominate as often as you like, but I would suggest that we do not spam like one or more of the other Idol's groups are doing. At least Scott's name is short and easy to type!

:) I'm 55. Daughter is 35. Son-in-law is 37. Grandchildren are 16, 15
and 12 1/2.
My favorites: Scott, Nadia, Bo, Constantine & Vonzell. I've even grown
fond of Anthony and Carrie, now that the show is over and I'm just listening
to my favorite mp3s over and over.
Daughter's favorites were Scott, Bo & Constantine.
Son-in-law was rooting for Constantine.
16 yr old grandson seemed to just like watching the show.
15 yr old grandson was into Constantine and Bo.
12 1/2 year old granddaughter liked Carrie and Constantine. She cried the
night he left, and we hadn't even known she liked him. She's the reason I
bought tickets for the concert this summer. *smile* Her tears gave me the
excuse to indulge myself.
Daughter and I loved Scott from the very beginning. Loved his voice, his
desire to prove his father wrong, his courage and... oh, heck! Just loved
him. :) Still do. :)

About age, I am almost 66, my daughters are 35 and 30, granddaughter is 18 and grandsons are 6 and 5, so while we do not often share the same intrests in music we all agreed that Scott was the best. Quite possibly because he not only sang extreemly well but also sang for the whole audience.
Bo and Constintine were great also but they left out much of the mature audience.

Are you sure they're teens? Most of the overly rude folks I've come across
are older than that. Of course, on the list I mod, the overly rude/vulgar
don't even make it past the point where we need to approve their messages,
so how would I know? :)

Most of his fans are teenie boppers. Sorry if I was insulting to you. I realize he does have some fans that are more mature adults, but u must admit, the ones that do the nasty comments and joint boards just to get in a rude comment are teenie boppers. The more mature adult ones just love him like we do Scott.
I also loved Bo, I liked that guy from way back in the beginning who sang I left my heart in San Francisco. Thought he was good and so sweet.

*laughing* Not all of Con's fans are teenie boppiers. Most of the ones I know are in their 30s, 40s and beyond. :) Myself? I'm 55 and can't wait to see both Scott and Con next month in Los Angeles! :)

I'm with you. I have loved Scott's voice from the beginning. As my
daughter said "You can listen to him forever".

True enough, but his getting to #5 proved that looks aren't everything. :)

Again, I agree. You can tell by the few times he was able to share his
thoughts that he's not shallow and really does think about a lot of things.
I can't wait to hear him again and again and again. :)

Exactly, I feel the same way, and I have learned, I DON'T CARE WHAT HATERS THINK. This is what I see when we get an email from one ...... bla bla bla bla bla.
After listening to Scott's voice on the videos, I again have fallen in love with his voice-- HOW could anyone NOT say that man can't sing? I think what happened was too many people (including some of the selfish judges) were way too focused on looks and let's face it, if you aren't 98 lbs and have model looks, or washboard abs, a lot of shallow people won't look past that. However, with Scott, there is just so much more to him than meets the eye. What a treat is was to listen to his voice again, can't wait for his first album.
