Hi Shelly. Always nice to here from another Sarah fanatic. I
embarrassed myself this mourning at my favorite coffee shop the "Muddy
Waters." I finally got to see the ad for the New Sarah flick Guinevere. I
screamed "Hooray" far, far to early in the mooring for everyone, but they
understood. She is simple perfection, what a sweetheart, the photo for the
ad is to die for, she has never looked better. I apologize for the screen
saver problem, I am unable to E-mail those damn things anywhere, I will make
another one and send it to you. Later daze

Hey Tyler! Welcome to the little "home." There are several of us out
there; we just haven't written anything for a while, 'cause it seems like
nobody wants to say anything.
I knew Sarah was going to be in George this month; I'm waiting to read the
article online. :) Sarah is a great actress, and I hope more people will
come out of "lurkville" and talk. :)

Well, this list appears DOA, which is a shame, because I really try to scrape up
all about Polley that I can. From Avonlea to The Sweet Hereafter, she has always
had my attention. She does very well in this month's George magazine if anyone
cares to check it out. I totally don't agree with her, but she knows what she
believes and sticks with it, so...go Sarah.ToodlesTyler

I would very much like a copy and will be delighted to make a copy of
Sweet hereafter for you, I can include a cassette tape of the film soundtrack
as well as the GO soundtrack.
I am curios about other of Sarah's films, Joe's so mean to Josephine, for
example. I have seen Exotica and would like to see other of her films.
I liked American History X, OK, but just OK. I won't give up the ending
but the film is worth seeing if only for Ed Norton's performance. Sadly and
quite unintentionally the film winds up making the Nazis case for them, it
also glamorized the far right movement, I thought. I will look forward to
hearing from you again and if I can get my DVD to record to cassette you are
in for a real treat, there will be many, many extra's included in the film
including a reading from the book (have you read the book)?

I'm not sure if GO will be out on DVD as well or not, but I wouldn't be
surprised if it came out on DVD as well. :)
Can you get White Lies outside Canada? Unfortunately, I don't think so. :(
I intend to tape it though, so let me know if you want a copy. :) The
producers of it, etc. did make a good effort to keep it realistic. I saw a
"making of" special CBC aired before it first ran last year; it looked very
good. :) (And no, I haven't seen "American History X"; is it good?)
That's it...for now...

Hi Shelly. LJ here, is White Lies available outside Canada? If so I
want desperately to see this rare gem, there was a White Lies web page up a
while ago, but it was boring, lots of links to anti racist sights, as though
it was something special to be against racism, hey I'm against car accidents
too.
As I understand it the film does a fine job of getting it's point across
without getting lost in a lot of imagery, did you see "American History X"?
What did you think?
"Lost Johnny"
Hmmmm...sounds like my subject line could be true. Not only will "White
Lies" re-air on CBC Aug. 14, but ten days after that, "Go" will be out on
video! And my birthday is two weeks from yesterday (I'll be 19), so the
month of August is going to be one great month for me. :)
Okay; I'm done revelling...for now.

Hey all. This afternoon I found out CBC is going to re-air Sarah's movie
"White Lies" on August 14. I didn't see the movie when it first aired, but
I saw "the making of" documentary they aired before it first aired last
year. It looked very good. The people who made it made sure the movie was
authentic and true-to-life.
Anyway, if you missed it--or if you want to see it again--CBC, August 14 (if
you can). ;) I know I will.

You are missing the boat if you don't see "The Sweet Hereafter" it is one of

First off, you're welcome! Second, I do intend to see "The Sweet Hereafter"
someday. Don't know when, but I will see it sometime. :) I had heard part
of some of Sarah's songs on the soundtrack. Very good. (I downloaded them
from one of the Sarah fan sites out there.)
And believe me, I will write. ;) Be prepared!
BTW, can't believe you haven't seen the sixth and seventh seasons of RtA!
You didn't see "Comings and Goings?" (Sarah's last real episode of Avonlea).
It is good!!!
Anyway, I'm done...for now.

Hey all. You all seem to be very quiet right now. That's alright.
I'm Shelly, also a fan of Sarah's (although probably not as long as some of
you). Anyway, I first saw her on Road to Avonlea (as I'm sure some or all
of you have) and thought she was great. I have yet to see some of her other
stuff (especially "The Sweet Hereafter" and "Go"), but I still think she's a
great actress who will go far. :)

I knew Sarah would be in it but she wasnt the only reason I saw the film,I
also saw it because it was a David Cronenberg film and his films always seem to
amaze me.
The film was very good surprisingly good seeing that there was almost no
publicity.I wont ruin sarahs part in the film telling you what she did but her
part is very short.
So everyone if youwant to see a really good film this weekend or any time
eXistenZ is it.

Now Now, First off Ms. Foster has never admitted (or denied) being a
Lesbian, sure people assume that, and lesbians around the world want to
believe it, but that does not make it true. Secondly Ms. Polley has a
boyfriend who travels with her so it is safe to assume she is straight, and
spoken for. My Jodie reference was made in relation to the amount of time
she has been working, she has been at it from about 8 or 9 years old (Jodie
was 9 in her first feature film). Granted Sarahs break came on TV, Jodie was
in several TV series too, and Sarah has not made near the number of films
Jodie has by this age, but lets not forget she is Canadian and not living in
Los Angeles and Hollywood like Jodie did. Of course they are very different
people. I do think, career wise, that they are similar.
You will find that Sarah has been making the right connections, her
relationship to Adom Egoien (Spelling?) is not unlike Ms. Fosters early work
with Martin Scosese (Spelling?) Also she has done both small, but criticly
acalimed, independent films and now a Hollywood blockbuster (I hope), Sarah
is well on her way to being a successful, powerful women in the film
industry. It would not surprise me on bit if she was directing and producing
soon.
"Lost Johnny"
Beyond excellent, that is the only way to describe this film. I am a
film student (in the top 11% of my class), I have seen many, many films. The
reviews of Go were all excellent 4 1/2 stars out of five in Minneapolis,
unheard of. I was skeptical, Katie Holmes was in it for one thing, nothing
against her personally but she is a TV actress in a program which is the
equivalent of "Saved by the bell" minus the laugh track and adding 30 minutes.
For once you can believe the critics, this film has it all, suspense
such as I have not experienced since Silence of the lambs (a simple plan too)
hysterical laughs, brilliant cinematography and top flight performances by
all involved. Any doubts as to Sarah's ability to develop different
characters will be put to rest here. She is not wheelchair girl anymore. I
was also pleasantly surprised by Katie Holms, she has reprised her "Libits"
character form "The Ice Storm" and it works brilliantly. I will withhold
comment on her acting abilities until we see her as a main character, she is
the supporting actress here, she is truly sweet and very lovable as Sarah's
ditsy friend, she is a total sweetheart. The actors are all in top form as
well as a brilliant plot and the best editing I have seen in a film since
"smoke signals." I cannot tell much about the plot as it will give it away,
lets just say there are several story lines running simaltainiesly and we see
them from different perspectives, like Pulp Fiction or Resivore Dogs. This
is not easy to do without being confusing or losing the audience with too
many characters and flashbacks (How to Make an American Quilt).
It can't recommend it enough, Sarah has never been better, she has
earned the title of "THE NEXT JODIE FOSTER," Go see Go, GO
NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea how AOL works. I guess that's the URL to your home directory
where you would put your webpages. Exactly how you do it is different for
each provider. Some provides built in software (like Geobuilder on
Geocities) while others will require you to know how to create your own
pages with an HTML-editor and upload them through ftp or some other method.
There should be FAQs and helpfiles where that came from.
Please tell us about GO when you've seen it.

Hi Johnny and fellow subscribers!
I found this list by doing a search at www.Onelist.com right after you
mentioned on the Winona Ryder list that you wanted to start a list for
Sarah. I was surprised to see that there already was a list and that you
were in fact the list manager so I guess you succeeded. :-)
I was the first one who joined the list but this is the first time I'm
posting anything. How many subscribers are we now? (Raise your hands
please!)
Also, maybe we could make a little homepage for the list so it turns up in
the search engines so people will find us easier? Let me know if you want me
to do it, I already run a homepage for another actress. (Guess who! :-)
I first saw Sarah in The Adventures of Baron Munchwhatshisname but I didn't
really pay attention to her until I saw her in Road to Avonlea. Then I saw
her in Exotica and The Sweet Hereafter and she is definitely one of the best
actresses of her generation! I hope to see her in Go and eXistenZ (sp?) when
they come to Sweden.
BTW, I'm the manager on the Winona Ryder list so if anyone here likes her
too you can sign up by mailing winona-ryder-subscribe@onelist.com.
