From IMDB:

Here is the entry for the new TV series.

   http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0851851/

Here is the entry for T4 the Movie.

   http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0438488/

It may be that John has sent back this Terminator to stop the T3 future from
happening. T4 may be another future reboot. Remember John knew why his mom
got sick and died. He can even stop that now.

"Come with me if you want to live..." Can have a whole other meaning...

Maybe that is why it is the "Sarah Connor Chronicles". Remember she only
lived a few years past judgment day, Sept 27th, 1997. John was born in early
1985. T2 took place in 1996.

Feel free to post stuff here and in links as you find it.

My guess is that FOX is going to make this high tech like Jericho with
all the Sci Fi fans involved here.

Remember - The Terminator Series Is About Survivalism! I plan to up

I like the idea of a young girl Terminator.

1) It is new ground.
2) Excellent concept as an infiltration Terminator. "The first series
had rubber skin, very easy to spot. These are different. Real hair,
skin, bad breath, everything. Very tough to spot..." The 101 models
were all the size of body builders because the chassis underneath were
BIG. This small Terminator is even tougher to spot...
3) As the series progresses imagine the conflict that will happen as
John falls in love with "it".
4) What if the Terminator is slowly becoming more aware that it IS
alive. Internal Conflict like Data on Star Trek.
5) I just love beautiful, strong, kick ass, women!!

I home it is well written.

The transformation of the Sarah Connor character between the first two
movies was absolutely fantastic. Linda Hamilton really buffed up and
sucessfully showed the character to be a COMPLETELY different person.
The waitress who couldn't balance her checkbook was one 12 gauge shot
short of taking out the T1000 on her own ;-)

Linda was a babe, and obviously James Cameron, the original writer and
director took notice - and married her. Their divorce obviously
denied us seeing Linda in this role again. :-( We've had to watch
Dante's Peak, etc., to see here.

Cameron likes to end with hope, thus I don't think T3 was his choice of
ending - I don't know how much artistic control is surrendered when you
sell your rights away - probably depends on price ;-)

Faking it requires a high level of emotional understanding - although
the T1000 and the T3 were able to mimic the person they copied, ie.
the phone call with John when the T1000 become John's forster parent
Janell. The voice inflections and what was said - came from an
impression - pehaps a sterotype - thus John realized somethind was
wrong, "something's wrong, she's never this nice".

Thus you are right, faking it is MORE believable then having
emotions. No doubt she will "evolve" as part of the show. I just
see a boy and his Terminator turning into a boy (15) and his teenage
Terminator girlfriend - and I'm not sure that's good - but I suspect
it will generate ratings from the younger crowd. After Firefly, I
guess she is the one that could pull this off - but I obviously start
out skeptical to this notion.

I think the Terminator fan base is not a base to be given lame
explanations to. I like my science fiction heavy on the science ;-)

Probabaly we can deal with, but impossible, or darn close to it, or
worse - lame - I'm not sure that flies.

"T3 movie is actually a "possible" timeline" - T3 did rock the boat
because Skynet was no longer a main grid to smash - or at least that
was the implication - Skynet went from hardware (supercomputer) to
software in nature. That for many reasons is pretty tough to
swallow to be honest - overly simplistic explaination I think - and
most computers even today simply lack the horsepower to sustain
intelligence, even if in concert - but there are other issues under
that theory - nuclear war, EMP, loss of utilities - hey Skynet, you
are going to shut down the VAST majority of stuff keeping you alive,
unless you retreat to neutral nations.... and what's their
infrastructure like? Dial up?

It was actually easier for me to buy a new super computer running the
military and thus the military would have it protected and on an
ample power supply with uninterruptable power sources with multiple
backups. We have instead now Skynet being super-Napster in essence.

Firefly, obviously why she was chosen for this role - question is will
it work with this new take of a Terminator. It worked with Firefly,
but I'm skeptical of the emtions and where they are going with that - a
boy and his Terminator take on a new meaning. Remember, John is 15
years old in the time line also here.

Yep, being on tv is the reason that it suggested itself.
Wonder if it is going to be on regular tv or cable?
I usually wait till something has went through a season and go get
the whole thing at the library when it is released on dvd.
Don't have to put up with the commercials that way,
but I'm always about the last to know what is going on. lol

Remember that John knows how to switch the chip "so you're not such a dork
all the time". If John sent her back she may be in learning mode. We don't
know how long she has been there either.

The previews are great.

If they drift from the movies a bit that's fine with me.

It's kind of like the Highlander series. They drifted from the movies and it
was good.

See, here's the thing. I'm just a big of fan as anyone of the Terminator
movies and what not. But, it really does take a HUGE suspension of
disbelief to go along with all this. Assuming Skynet is ever-evolving in
the future and able to come up with newer and better Terminator units,
why don't they keep sending them back to kill the 1985 Sarah Connor?
They've not explained that yet, as far as I can recall.

Also, I read somewhere today that, as far as Terminator canon is
concerned, the T3 movie is actually a "possible" timeline, not one set
in stone and thus has little impact on the upcoming TV series. Not sure
how I feel about that.

Off the official site:

At the end of "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," Sarah vanquished the
liquid metal Terminator sent from the future to kill her teenage son,
John. Sarah and John now find themselves alone in a very dangerous,
complicated world. Fugitives from the law, they are confronted with
the reality that still more enemies from the future, and the present,
could attack at any moment.

THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES reveals what happens when SARAH (Lena
Headey, "The Brothers Grimm," "300") stops running and goes on the
offensive against an ever-evolving technological enemy bent on
destroying her life, and perhaps the world. Her son, 15-year-old JOHN
CONNOR (Thomas Dekker, "Heroes"), knows that he may be the future
savior of mankind, but is not yet ready to take on the mantle of
leadership that he's told is his destiny. John finds himself
inextricably drawn to CAMERON (Summer Glau, "Serenity," "The Unit"),
an enigmatic and otherworldly student at his high school, who soon
proves to be much more than his confidante – she assumes the role of
Sarah and John's fearless protector. On their trail are not only
threats from the future, but an intelligent and tough FBI agent,
JAMES ELLISON (Richard T. Jones, "Judging Amy"), who soon becomes a
powerful ally.

Directed by David Nutter and produced by Warner Bros. Television and
C-2 Pictures, THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES represents an exciting
reinvention of the "Terminator" franchise, in which the strong and
intrepid Sarah discovers that protecting her son and stopping the
rise of the machines is more difficult than she had ever imagined.

Pretty in Pink - Summer Glau plays "Cameron"
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1132359/
which is presumably the reprogrammed cyborg send back from the future
to protect John.

Here is the cast: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1132359/

Note that this references 2 episodes only.

The speculation begins. Are going to see a new terminator every
week? Is that going to work, or get old?

I think there are some serious time sequence issues, and cyborg
sequence of generation issues coming. Model 101 (Arnold) - living
tissue over metal allow. T1000 - (polyani...whatever) liquid metal -
but unable to form complete parts - clearly capable of mimicing
emotions, but otherwise didn't have them. T3 - whatever version that
was, liquid metal over a metal skeleton with weapons. (what was that
able time displacement, and nothing dead, or non-living would go, yet
T1000 and the T3 on CAN without living tissue?... oh nevermind)

This brings us to Pretty in Pink (that's what I'm going to call her) -
our teenage female cyborg that I think is going to show emotion like
we've never seen in a cyborg YET does she predate the T3 female one?
I foresee problems.

I'm very curious as to how they are going to explain any emotion-related
programming on the part of the female cyborg. I'm guessing/assuming she
is also somehow from the future, rather than created in the here and
now. The reason I say this is, to program believeable emotions would
require a higher, more advanced, technology than would be necessary to
create, for example, the original Terminator. Is this another instance
of "future John" protecting the John in the here and now?

I've read very, very little about this show so far. I think it has
potential to be a winner, but it also has large potential to stink to
high heaven if not done right.

The first and most obvious debate has to be a pretty in pink protector
for John from the future. More questions than answers at this point,
but I'm not sure if this will go over well.

The first Terminator movie absolutely MADE Arnold - and he was almost
uniquely suited to be a convincing super cyborg killing machine.

Now for the first time, we have a cyborg of a "younger" age group.
Having one as a woman is not new of course, ah la T3 - but we saw
pretty much a complete lack of emotion. My concern is we are going to
see a lot of emotion out of a young actress here. I wonder how that
will go over with fans. I for one am skeptical I'm going to like that
part of this.

-Rick R

I realize many groups put up "spoilers" all over as the talk about
something that hasn't aired yet - I don't plan on doing that here. T
fans are intelligent and mindful of the future. I don't think you are
going to be shocked as a T-fan that pretty in pink is a terminator ;-)

Here's the You Tube sneak peek stuff to date.

Feel free to post stuff here and in links as you find it.

My guess is that FOX is going to make this high tech like Jericho with
all the Sci Fi fans involved here.

Remember - The Terminator Series Is About Survivalism! I plan to up
front about there here.
