THE HIVE

*Flashback to Lost Boys*

The queen of the hive on the wraith ship has Sheppard on his knees
questioning him about where he got the dart. She tries to bend his
mind using controlling techniques when suddenly she leaves him alone.
The guards then carry him back to his cell where he meets up with the
others (Ronan, Teyla, Ford and the other bloke whom I can't remember
his name, lol).

Ford gets a bit narky with Sheppard, and he demands to know what John
told the queen. Teyla sense something after a few minutes and she
realises it's another Wraith hive ship approaching.

Back on Ford's planet, McKay is getting worried because of the time
that's elapsed, he thinks something has gone wrong and tries to get
his captors to see reason, they don't. McKay gets even more
frustrated and starts thinking of ways to get the chrystals back on
the DHD.

On the Hive ship, the team are trying to make their way out of the
cell, by using knives to open up the door. Ronon has knives hidden
all over him, lol.

On the planet, Rodney is thinking of knocking out the guard and
contemplates using the enzyme, but instead of taking a small dose, he
uses the whole bottle, lol.

Back onboard the ship, the team manages to escape, while on the
planet, Rodney does his superhero bit, lol. He's gone nuts…but in a
good way, and starts beating the crap out of the security guards.

Meantime as the team try and escape, they run into trouble…more
wraith and have to fight their way out of trouble. Rodney is still on
the planet trying to dial Atlantis, and he's completely lost his mind…
talking to himself incoherently as he tries to dial the gate. He says
a lovely thing as he's just about to go through the gate. "Go home."
I think he's more settled on Atlantis, than he was on Earth, lol.

As the team make their way through the passageways they find some
survivors. Ford tries to stop the team from releasing them from
captivity, but Sheppard isn't having anything more to do with Ford's
bad plan.

Rodney makes it back to Atlantis, and he's talking gibberish. He's so
high on the enzyme, that Weir doesn't know how to react. He hasn't
mentioned anything about the team, but babbles incoherently (almost
to obsessiveness) about the guards that he had to take out to get
back to Atlantis.

There's a great line for these two.

McKay: I had to inject some of the enzyme.
Weir: You took some of the enzyme?
McKay: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I took a lot of the enzyme.
But I had to, because I had to take out the guards, you see. And I
did, I was amazing.
Weir: Are you insane?
McKay: Yes, now that I've taken the enzyme.

McKay looks like he's going to have a heart attack and suddenly
collapses on the floor as Weir tries to take him to the infirmary.
(Great scene with these two).

As the team wrestles with the wraith and freeing the prisoners, they
are overpowered and get zatted. They're then taken away to the cells,
and are split up. Teyla Ronan, and one of Ford's men are kept in one
cell. Ford, Sheppard and a prisoner called Nera are being kept in a
separate cell. Ford is severely ticked off with Sheppard and believes
it was because he wanted to help the prisoners that they got caught.
It seems that the enzyme is wearing off for Teyla and Ronon as they
went down too fast.

In the infirmary, Beckett explains to Weir and Caldwell what's
happening to Rodney. It seems that McKay took nearly as much enzyme
as Ford had in his system when he was first infected (see the Siege).
Without any enzyme on the base, it means that Rodney has to go `cold
turkey', but it could kill him.

The Enzyme seems to be wearing off for everyone and they all go into
withdrawal onboard the ship. Ford seems to be reverting back to how
he was at Atlantis. In the infirmary the effects of McKay's
withdrawal are increasing, and he starts talking about Beckett being
jealous of him, and that he won't help Rodney, because he knows
Rodney can get the woman, lol. (David Hewlett) plays a fantastic
part of being a drug addict, and he really shows off his acting
skills in this scene).

On the hive ship, the Wraith come and collect Kanao (Ford's man) and
take him away as he's died from the effects of withdrawal. Teyla and
Ronon fear the same thing will happen to them, and there is slight
standoff when the wraith walks over to Teyla and sniffs her…what is
it with the sniffing, lol.

On Atlantis, Rodney has got over the worst of the effects, and Weir
asks Beckett how he's getting on, and if Rodney has said anything
about the team. Beckett tells her their conversation was slightly
different, lol, and he has a great line of.

Beckett: I feel not unlike the priest in the exorcist.

In the next scene Ford is taken away, and we see a glimmer of the old
Ford returning as he calls Sheppard "Sir." He's being taken to be
cocooned. Nera strikes up a conversation with John, and we learn he's
scared of clowns, they scare the crap out of him, lol…I so know the
feeling.

Back on Atlantis, Rodney is up and about and back to his normal self.
He tells Weir about Ford's plans, and what happened on the planet. He
remembers an address of the planet where the Wraith are planning to
cull the inhabitants.

It seems that the effects of the enzyme have now more or less abated
from everyone's system and they're starting to feel like their old
self. Nera tells Sheppard about her family, but there's something
about her that John doesn't trust. When he's taken by the guards to
see the Queen, she questions him once more about how he managed to
get the dart. He tells her that he's working with the other hive ship
to gain an advantage. The queen doesn't believe him, until he tells
her that he knows there is another Wraith ship travelling with them.
Then she brings out some of the prisoners and John realises that Nera
is a sympathiser to the wraith.

**********************************************

Sure you want to know the ending?

Turn back now if you don't want to know.

Positive?

Okay, don't say I didn't warn you.

**********************************************

As the queen goes to attack Sheppard, Ford arrives and stops her and
they make a break for it to rescue the others who are trapped in the
cells. Ford leaves Sheppard to find the others, and he cover's his
back.

They manage to escape. The team realise that the culling is about to
start as there ae hundreds of darts leaving the ship. Coming up with
a plan, John steals a wraith dart and beams up, Ronon and Teyla. Ford
is nowhere in sight, and they can't wait for him.

A space fight ensues, and the Daedulus watches (they were tasked with
finding Sheppard, Ronon and Teyla, but weren't able to locate them on
their sensors or on the radio). The Daedulus is unable to use the
Asgard beaming technology, and are suffering damage to their shields.
John comes up with a plan to start attacking the other hive ship, and
suddenly both ships are firing on each other, and Sheppard is caught
in the middle of the battle between the two ships As the ships start
suffering massive battle damage, McKay realises that it's hopeless to
save his team mates.

An explosion destroys the ships and Sheppard, Ronon and Teyla are
nowhere to be found.

Back on Atlantis, Weir is informed that Daedulus has called off the
search, desponded, she then hears the gate activate and John, Ronon
and Teyla make it through, much to the surprise and delight of Dr
Weir. Taken to the infirmary, Beckett gives the all clear to Ronon
and Teyla.

Mckay surprised and delighted finds them all alive, Sheppard tells
Caldwell and McKay what happened, and Teyla advises that the Wraith
are becoming more and more territorial, which is to their advantage.

When McKay asks about Ford, John tells him that he wouldn't be
surprised if they run into him again.

The End.

Thoughts…this was a really good second parter, and David Hewlett
played a great role in this ep. He was so believable as a drug addict
going through withdrawal that he must've been exhausted after this
ep. An interesting turn of events with the wraith sympathisers, and
it will be great to see where they take this. And we learned that the
real Ford is in there somewhere still, and he could potentially be
back to normal, if he didn't crave for the enzyme. I don't think
there's been any word of him as yet, of whether he's been signed for
more eps, certainly not for the remainder of S2, but maybe Season
3….who knows. I have to say I prefer the crazy Ford, to the Lt. Ford,
he's got more of a chance to go nuts, lol.

Feel free to debate, i'd love to hear what others thought of it.
