I totally agree with your sentiments. Like it or not, everything is going
digital since it's just as good and a heck of a lot cheaper bandwidth wise.

That's the problem! Someone other than GI needs to do a proper DC2 receiver that
plays on DC2 as well as the Nokia does on DVB.
Rod
It was there. Right where it says it is. You need an MPEG2 receiver to
get it. The channel is not scrambled, but they are playing with the data
stream, so channel updating constantly (every 90 seconds or so) appears on
the scrreen. The two religious channels (Worship and Praise-TV) are on the
same transponder, and they are perfect.
Paxnet is taking 5 or six channels. One for each time zone and two feed
channels. The INFO channel is encrypted. 8 channels on one transponder.
You do the math, and you will know why you should consider updating to
Digital. Right now, if you can receive the two digital standards, there
are more channels to watch FTA (Free to air, aka in the clear) than there
EVER were before in the history of TVRO. And the LSD propagandists say C
band is DEAD. Not in my lifetime. C band IS changing, and you need to
change with it if you want to keep playing. ALL TV will be digital (yes
even over the air broadcasts) sooner than later, So bite the bullet and do
the upgrade.
I suggest EVERYONE get a receiver for BOTH standards.
There is a $5 fine for whining.

John,
My advice to you is sell the house and buy one with no HOA.
HOA's have the ulitmate power over your life, they can fine you
and force you to take you BUD down. If you don't pay the fines
they can put a lien on you house. I lived in hell for 7 years never
again.

taking the time to post to me as I am the only one in this area, that I know of
with a 4DTV unit an info has been hard to come by. Even my satellite dealer
knows less about the unit than I do so thanks very much for your help.

Hello Roger,
Here are some of the channels I've found using the Generic sats on the 4DTV.
CF over G-9 343 TVN MIX A
CE over C-3 380-499 PAX Net feeds
CG over G-7 hits TCI
KF over G-7 ku 320-339 hits TCI
KG over T-7 360-377 SCETV
These channels are subject to change but were current as of yesterday. I
have not looked at them this morning but I would say that the are still
good.
Take care

I first want to think the creators of this very helpful list
for the list.
I would like to now where and how you folks ,find out and
know about installing some of the generic satellites over
other birds to get certain channels on the GI 4DTV receiver.
I REALLy appreciate every ones help with these tricks, I
personally find GI's web site useless for real info .
Thank to all Again

Just purchased one from Tom Taylor in KY. Looking forward to my new
umbrella. I live in a boating community where everyone lives
"outdoors", so an umbrella is not at all uncommon. My neighbors
thought it was a neat idea. Tom's number is 606-356-9666.

Hello all!
I'm a C-band user and am having a problem with my home owners association not
allowing large BUD's, i.e., dishes > 24". Has anyone used a horizontal mount
to disguise the dish as a patio umbrella? If so, where did you get it from
and approx. cost. Any repercussions from your HOA?
Thanks in advance.
