Tuesday morning (2-24) a Orbital Sciences Taurus rocket is scheduled to
launch the Orbiting Carbon Observatory for NASA from SLC-576-E,
Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.

Launch attempt is scheduled 4:51 a.m. EST. launch window extends four
minutes and 20 seconds.

Orbiting Carbon Observatory (OCO) is the first satellite thats
dedicated to mapping the atmospheric carbon dioxide. The spacecraft will
fly 438 miles above the planet in polar orbit, collecting about 8
million measurements every 16 days to create maps showing global
distribution of carbon dioxide for at least two years.
