Wednesday afternoon (11-5) International Launch Services Proton M/Breeze
M rocket is scheduled to launch ASTRA 1M communications satellite for
SES ASTRA, Luxembourg, from Launch Pad 39, Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan.

Launch is scheduled for 3:44 p.m. EST.

Spacecraft Separation is approximately 9 hours and 12 minutes after liftoff

ASTRA 1M is a Eurostar E3000 bus built by EADS Astrium, France it will
provide pan-European coverage. ASTRA 1M has 36 transponders covering the
FSS and BSS frequency bands. It will primarily deliver direct-to-home
services, including high-definition television. The launch of the
spacecraft will allow SES ASTRA to move capacity to its increasingly
important orbital position 23.5 degrees East.
ASTRA 1M will be located at 19.2 degrees East longitude.

Galaxy 28 at 89°W, transponder 12 C-Band (3940 Horizontal) analog

Test signals begin about 3 p.m. EST
Broadcast starts about 3:20 p.m. EST.

downlink 11693.5 horizontal, symbol rate 5632, digital
