This month, KP and WITCH fans will have another opportunity to show their dedication and fight for their shows. For both shows, the battle is to keep them alive. The end of Toon Disney greatly threatens both shows - for KP it means the loss of one channel and relegation to the early morning hours on DC. For WITCH it means removal from the US airwaves Entirely! And even worse for WITCH fans, the comic series is now ending as well (more here). It's time for the fans to make their voices known. Please begin to prepare your paper letters now - they are the most important part of these events. Disney contact information can be found in the How to Help section of SDS.
Disney Channel Ratings down
We all knew it couldn't last forever; for the first time in ages Disney Channel suffered a ratings decrease.
Hannah Montana˘s ratings are down ever sense Miley˘s Vanity Fair photos. The original Suite Life series is ending. KP and ADJL are over. And the only new show getting any decent promotion is Phineas and Ferb. And I doubt few would disagree with the statement that Camp Rock was no High School Musical.
My hope is that now Disney realizes that they cannot endlessly manufacture hits. At some point the fans really will begin to walk away in noticeable amounts.
And for the Second Quarter of this year "April saw a decline with Kids 6-11 of roughly -08%." "In a year-to-year comparison, the Tweens 9-14 demographic dropped -11%." May went on to drop "another -08% (Total Program Day)." "June saw double-digit declines in every notable kids demographic." For kids 6-11 the decline was "-11% (TPD) and -15% (Primetime)" year-to-year.
"From a larger perspective, Disney Channel lost more viewers in Primetime than throughout the entire day of programming, in each demographic. The largest of such losses, in June 2008, were with Tweens. Tweens 9-14 viewership decreased -16% (TPD) and down another -21% (Primetime)."
Disney has been heavily targeting the Tweens, and that's where they had the largest drop! This they have to notice!
This is obviously most exciting for the Hannah Montana fans (BTW, you can preorder it on Amazon now for 30$ off) but it also signifies that disney is now willing to release Box Sets of current shows! It's time for fans of all DC shows to step up their calls for full season boxsets. I'm certainly going to make sure to mention the HM boxset in my KP Legacy Day letters.
The Suite Life Spin Off
Finally, I just wanted to give you all a reminder that The Suite Life spin off, The Suite Life On Deck, premieres later this month. And if you haven't heard the name Debby Ryan yet, you will soon enough.

Subject: SaveKimPossible.org | 'So the Finale' KP Crew Chat
SDS, SOS, MKP, and RS.net are planning one more huge KP crew chat now that season four has ended.
As binski put it, we want this to be the biggest most badical
KP chat of all time.
It is currently scheduled for September 22 at 11AM Pacific / 2PM Eastern in the SOS chat room.
Also, the next, "for sure," KP Legacy day is scheduled for 11/29/07. SDS hopes to pick out another date for mid October, but we haven't settled on any specific date yet. But still send your emails when ever you can! You don't have to wait for a Save KP day to email, call, and write Disney.

It's been nearly a year since Save Disney Shows renewed it's hosting plan, which means the renewal for
Save Disney Animation (SDA) is just around the corner. We need to raise $168.00 by Mid-October to renew the hosting for SDA.
The hosting plan for SDA not only hosts SDA but a multitude of other sites, including The Fix Disney Network, Preserve the Magic, Greg's WITCH Forum, Save Jake Long (.com), and several other smaller web sites!
If you'd like to donate, we would greatly appreciate it! And please, forward this to anyone who might want to contribute to the cause.
You can send your donation via PayPal to
paypal@... or you can mail us a check or money order. Simply make it out to Gregory Isaac and send it to:

I just joined as my youngest sister, 40s, got me into Kim Possible. It
is a good show and I think ending the show with the two part
graduation episodes is a fitting way to go. MASH had the same story
lines only it was Charles Emerson Winchester instead of Frank Burns
and was not very good. I am glad to see Kim leave while still good and
fresh and not make the mistake MASH did. Maybe a special once in a
while in the future.

SDS Mobile
I don't know how I could live without my Pocket PC, which is what inspired me to create a handheld friendly version of SDS. It's still being tweaked, and more content is being added (like a mobile version of SDS Mail!) but I wanted to release the link so our members can start using it. You can find our mobile site at http://savedisneyshows.org/mobile/
Tiger Beat Magazine usually gets this stuff right, so while this isn't the best source, it's enough to convince us at SDS:
I chatted with Ashley Tisdale over the phone on Friday. She was rushing around, really busy because of High School Musical 2, but we had a few minutes to catch up. You'll see more of the interview in future issues of BOP and Tiger Beat, but I had to pass along this part of our convo.
Ashley told me that she just finished shooting the very last episode of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Yep, that's right, the show won't be filming any more new episodes. You'll still be seeing new episodes for a while, because they have filmed so many, but the cast is finished shooting. How did Ashley feel about the last episode?
"I cried," Ashley told me. "Brenda and I cried when we did our last day together - our last ever scene was together in London's suite with Phill Lewis (who plays Mr. Moseby). First, we cried when the lobby set went down a week before. It was the one stage that was always there. It was hard to see it go. Then a week later, when we did our last scene together, it was sad and we cried. The next day was the curtain call - the end of the whole thing - and we cried there, too. So I cried, like, three times!"
------
Now, TSL has gotten a good run, but If KP fans can campaign for a 5th season, TSL fans have every right to campaign for their show.
Our first Save The Suite Life Day is currently being organized. Tell us what you think on the Yahoo Group or
Forum.
American Dragon LIVE Fan Rally
This is just another reminder that Save The Shows is planning an online group discussion about saving ADJL using Skype this Friday. You can also call in using Talkshoe! Full details can be found here.

Kim Possible Day #4
Kim Possible Legacy Day is September 7th. We have to fight for boxsets so that we can preserve Kim's legacy. If you also want to push for a fifth season, this is the time as well.
There are rumors that Disney realizes that this franchise's overseas popularity is worth the effort to continue production. If we can show decent USA and international support now, it could be enough to put us "over the top."
Just a reminder, if you haven't already, please sign the
Save KP, Save Jake
, and Save Phil email petitions. And after you've done that, please get started on the paper petitions. The usage of the paper petitions has dropped of drastically over the past month.

Kim Possible Legacy Day #3 is July 18th, 2007.
It's time to prepare your physical letters to Disney. Emails are good tools, but postal mail is always better. So prepare your mail now if you haven't already. You can find letter writing ideas from Binski here, and as many Disney postal addresses as we have, are here.
Fax and phone numbers are also on the how to help page and the new email program is here. Full information on KP Legacy day can be found at http://savekp.com.
Some people are still pushing for a fifth season, but even if you feel that's a lost cause, we still need your help to push for boxsets and decent scheduling.

A few other useful links
A few other links that KP fans should be aware of if you aren't already.
We've invited a bunch of folks you know, and some new ones:
Chris Bailey Charlotte Fullerton Brian Swenlin Kurt Weldon Steve Loter
Both Andy Ice and Stephen Silver want to attend, but they may not be at a computer, so we'll have to list them as maybe.
The chat will be run as past ones,
where everyone starts with 'voice' and chat among themselves. Once our guests arrive, we'll disable the 'voice' for everyone except the mods and guests. Questions will then be IM'd to the mods to forward into the room.
If you haven't tried out the chat room, I strongly encourage you to do so ASAP. There are 3 ways to get into it.
At this link, http://www.saveourshows.org/irc.php you have 3 choices: 1. SOS Java Chat Client. This gives a very functional chat room. You can change font size, color and it looks nice.
But many ISP's block this client and you can't do anything with it.
2. The second choice is to select the SOS CGI Chat client. This option works with your browser, but it is slow and not user friendly.
3. The third choice is to use an IRC Client (program). Phil wrote a tutorial about how to download, install and setup
Trillian here: http://www.saveourshows.org/irctutorial.php
The SOS Mods will not be available after noon on Saturday to help you get set up, so you need to get your access figured out before you are on your own.
