Tankards and Tales is a 3.5 D&D game centered around an elite military unit in
service to the kingdom of Kaddestrei (although the game uses some Greyhawk
aspects, like some areas and the deities, it's not a total Greyhawk game). 
They're the baddest of the bad and authorized to use questionable tactics and
abilities in the defense of the country, although if they're caught, the
government will disavow any and all knowledge of them or their actions.  We
currently have five players and are looking for two more before we get things
started, and more out of happenstance than anything else, ended up with a bit of
a theme for the characters.  We'd noticed that the characters each represented
one of the seven deadly sins, and figured that if it worked, going with it would
be a good idea.  So far, we have five characters fulfilling specific roles
(melee expert, face/social expert, arcane blaster, rogue/outdoorswoman, and
healer) who fit five of the seven sins (Lust, Wrath, Sloth, Gluttony and Pride,
in no particular order).  What we're looking for now is people who can create
concepts to fit the final two sins (Greed and Envy) in an interesting fashion. 
Ideally, the party could use a good ranged combatant or a buff-type magician of
either arcane or divine origin.  Good writing skills are a must, as is creative
character concepts and an eagerness to participate.

Creation rules are as follows-
Any race/class from any of the 3.5 books (with the exception of psionic classes;
we're not using psionics, so races with psi-like abilities treat them as
spell-like); monster classes from Savage Species are acceptable, although it's
your job to figure out why they'd be in the military for a primarily
human/demihuman kingdom.  For level adjustment races, remember it's racial hit
dice + level adjustment to determine starting character level. Starting level is
7. Feats are gained once every other level, so 3,5,7,9, etc. Up to two flaws
(from Unearthed Arcana) can be used at 1st level.  Characters gain two points to
spend on attributes at every 4 levels; one must be assigned to a specific stat
mentioned in the character's class description at level 1.  The other can be
assigned to any stat, including the same one. One cross-class skill can be
selected as always being a class skill for a character, and starting gold pieces
for the characters is 19,000 and one free magic item of up to 4,000 gp
equivalent value.

Stats are bought with 24 points, using the following buy system.  All stats
start at 10.
10- 0 points
11- 1 point
12- 2 points
13- 3 points
14- 4 points
15- 6 points
16- 8 points
17- 10 points
18- 12 points

I am hoping to find a few women who will take up specific roles, named
characters in an original game and bring these characters to life.

We can start off with an original character to get use to the setting, the story
and each other, with the goal of taking up one or more of the characters I've
come up with. I'm a guy, I would like a gal to play them.

This adult game has mainly minority characters, and we're hoping to find a
writer who could take up specific characters that can be tailored to fit your
preferences and style.

We are seeking female players for female characters.

Latina, Native American, as well as Hindu and Muslim are characters that are
open to adopt among others.

We have a variety of Asian, European, Polynesian and Slavic characters, but open
for more as a test-the-waters sort of character.

We're hoping to have such a writer to bring a cultural flavor with the
characters adopted.

This is not your usual scifi, not a focus on action and adventure. It is about
the characters and how they interact, not what they can do.

This is a blend of science fiction and fantasy (magical beings exit in this
setting), it is also has adult (kinky) themes the focus is to tell stories such
as at times it will be a series of scenes of being forced to be a ponygirl.

This is mainly role playing with me as I portray the antagonist and all the
bit-parts of characters encountered in the setting.

At times play will cross over to other players who hold central roles.

I would like someone consistent and committed who can post once a day
and stay with the story for year or so (more hopefully).

Gents IF you think you can write a woman and not be just T&A with a name and
attributes I will ask for a writing samples, even then I can't guarantee I'll be
comfortable writing with another gent.

Hopefully this will find that rare woman I need to tell these stories, and
others we come up with.

Title of RPG: HogwartsNewYearRPG

  What's new in HNY? Here's a short recap of the last week or two!

Word of Narcissa Malfoy's visit to the school is spreading like wildfire among the students. Narcissa took advantage of the opportunity to get a book from the library at Malfoy Manor that includes dark spells (not illegal but questionable) to Draco at Leni's earlier request.

  The ferret stories about Draco have been expanded to include tales of a White Stag in reference to the antlers hex incident. Draco is with Pansy and has been since the Weasley Twin seminar, but Pansy is remaining distant. She is still angry with him for his misdeeds with another girl during the past two weeks.

  Leni (6th year Slytherin) had a run-in with Lexx Zathour (7th year Slytherin prefect and Death Eater). Information she'd given him turned out to be false which caused him a week of unnecessary worry. Lexx reminded her that those who seek to serve the Dark Lord must not fail tasks given them. He immobilised her, telling her the Dark Lord would have just killed her outright for the failure, but that he would be more generous and give her a passing chance at being rescued. Leni is still immobilised in the remote disused bath and slumped face down in a large sink that is slowly filling with water.

  Severus Snape and Dumbledore had words about his treatment of students, one in particular. Severus thought Dumbledore meant the girl with the locket, for whom he's been developing feelings that he still struggles to resist. He expected to be fired. However, Dumbledore meant the 5th year Gryffindor boy, Firius Burnside, who has become addicted to a pain potion and prone to pass out. Severus, knowing the boy could not safely manage anything in his class in his current condition and wondering why he didn't ask for an exemption as Draco had done years earlier, hauled the boy in front of the class and forced him to admit he could not do anything and then sent him packing to the hospital wing...alone.

  Firius passed out in the corridor from pain and anger, where Pettigrew in rat form happened across him. Mrs. Norris tried to pounce at Rat!Peter when she spotted him, causing Rat!Peter to flee but not before leaving behind a little something on the still unconscious boy. Firius has since been sent to St. Mungo's for an experimental treatment in an effort to get his pain and addiction under control. Students are just learning that he's gone and that Snape was involved yet again in someone leaving Hogwarts abruptly. Dumbledore asked all four Heads of House to his office to discuss student welfare and to ask each of them to take special interest in their students, especially those who are most at risk.

   Harry is talking with Hermione, Ron and Susan (5th year OC) in the Gryff common room about using what they learned in the first seminar given by the Weasley Twins on Practical Application of Magic (combining spells to achieve a unique effect) to speed up their quest to translate an archaic text. Hermione hopes to brew an alternate truth potion so the newly reformed DA can use it on selected students in an attempt to find out who is behind the dastardly events at Hogwarts.

  Pansy and her cohorts are discussing ways to set up Lupin. Trelawney has been firing off prophecies and warnings one after another based on her tea leaf readings and Tarot spreads, but thus far everything she says is being largely ignored. Some of the staff suspect she is drinking again.

  An idea had been bandied about among a few Death Eaters of resurrecting Barty Crouch Jr. drawing on the notion of dementors as natural horcruxes... We would LOVE to see a writer who could take on this role and develop this story with us!

Detailed description: HNY is a canon-based RPG set in year 6. It is canon only through what was known as of the end of OoTP. We play out things that *could* have happened in canon from year 6 on and so creativity on the part of the players is strongly encouraged. We welcome new story lines and can find ways to accommodate/ integrate back stories as much as possible with existing ones. We also love to inject humour into the stories and be inventive with spells (within reason for the age of the character).

We have been an active RPG for over four years and have a great set of excellent writers. If you like role-playing and Harry Potter, then give us a try! We'd love to see new members! We have an opening for Remus Lupin and Minerva McGonagall, among many other canons!  At the moment, he is available for temping with a possible permanent opening.

If you have the drive and the ability to craft good Potteresque stories and can post often (3-4 times per week) to help move stories along PLEASE give us a look. We need student characters, preferably 6th and 7th years as well as adult characters who could be either Death Eaters or Order of the Phoenix members.

There is no limit on the number of characters a player can have as long as the player can manage them all. This includes canons.

We allow all ratings up to R, but we do ask that such posts be clearly marked in the header and at the top of the post so that members can decide whether to read them. We ask also that such posts be made only when they are integral to the plot and never for sheer titillation only. Most posts are in the G-PG range. Slash is allowed.

Many canon characters are available, i.e. Remus Lupin, Blaise Zabini, Arthur Weasley, Molly Weasley,  Cho Chang, Pomona Sprout, Filius Flitwick, Dobby, Minerva McGonagall, Albus Dumbledore, Crabbe/Goyle, Professor Sinistra, Professor Vector, Kreacher, Nymphadora Tonks, Percy Weasley etc.

A writing sample will be required for major canon characters. Bios for OCs must be approved before new players may post.

We'd especially like to see active adult characters, OCs included, who would be either members of the Order of the Phoenix, the Death Eaters or work for the Ministry in some capacity. I'm on that hunt once again...to find a roleplay partner. I've been
playing for 10+ years, I tend to write in paragraph form but I
understand when the response only calls for a few sentences, I only
play female characters [I'd like my partner to be able to play a male
main char] but I don't mind taking on a few side chars, I dislike
stories based around sex, yes, sex can happen but that is by far the
whole premise of the storyline. Also, I prefer to play over IM but if
we can't make it on around the same times email is fine.

At the moment I am yearning for a good original story. Something we can
come up with together. I love something with adventure, good vs. evil,
romance, action, drama, anything you can think of. I tend to lean
towards fantasy, modern with a touch of fantasy aka vampires/magical
creatures/ect. living in a modern setting, and medieval.

As for story ideas I have a few ideas that need to be fleshed out; my
female char is mysteriously drawn to your char who has dark intentions,
two chars that have been altered with special abilities are being
hunted....hmm...mainly looking for something fun. If you are interested

The world of Azzaria has been at war for centuries, all because of a mysterious
stone that was stolen by an Elf. While the stone was lost, the feuds between the
four Races has continued to escalate. It has grown for thousands of years, to
the point that the original feud has been labelled as a myth or long forgotten.

The last great war was twenty years ago, and casualties were great on all sides.
The Emperor Taron, ruler of the Imperials, grew up with ideas of peace and when
he became Emperor he sought contact with the other races of Azzaria. It was a
long and complex procedure, filled with frustration and after many years
peaceful negotiations began.

The result of those negotiations was an alliance between the races, starting
with a marriage and trade deals. Emperor Taron's son has been betrothed to the
daughter of the King and Queen of the Celts. The Emperor is also in talks with
the Elves to discuss a possible marriage between his niece, and one of the Elven
princes. Both marriages have been met with a mixture of distrust, happiness,
relief and suspicion on all sides. There are those who remember the last war,
and some look forward to peace, while others hold onto old grudges and past
sins.

Azzaria is in a time of great change. Whether it is for the better or the worst,
that is yours to decide.
