Deanna's group The MVP's http://themvps.net/ MVPs Biography
Recording artists The MVPs "The Most Valuable Players", from Southern
California, are one of the top musical acts performing today. A
collection of World Class talents, they have played to millions the
world over, from Mandalay Bay Las Vegas to the AT&T Olympic
Centennial Park at the 1996 Olympic Games before an audience of more
than 50,000. Appearing with such greats as Santana, Ray Charles,
Gypsy Kings and Chaka Khan, as well as more contemporary artists
including pop superstar Jessica Simpson & Kelly Clarkson (Jan. 12,
2005), the band mixes Rock, Soul, Latin groove, and dance rhythms to
create a World Beat sound all their own.
The MVPs are fronted by the dynamic song and dance trio of Wes Quave,
Trey Parker, and Deanna Johnston, whose broad stylistic range covers
material from Frank Sinatra to Ricky Martin, from Janis Joplin to
Madonna, and from Marvin Gaye to Michael Jackson. Their sophisticated
and energetic choreography provides the exciting visual entertainment
you would normally find only on a major concert stage. The rock solid
musical foundation is built on veteran virtuosos Derek Frank on Bass
and Joel Alpers on Drums. ASCAP's director of film and television,
Mike Todd, lends his musical expertise as lead horn player on alto
saxophone The band's guitarist is industry veteran Chris Clermont,
who has toured and recorded with numerous platinum artists, including
Barry White, MC Hammer, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Doggy Dogg, among others.
The music director is well known composer and keyboardist Justin
Reinhardt, who scored the hit film "Swingers", and whose music has
been featured in popular TV shows including HBO's "Sex and the City".
On Percussion / Drums, the group's founder Ric Grea, former co-leader
of Joe's Band brings twenty years of experience in music production,
on stage and in the studio. In January 1999 the band
released "Daydream Lover", co-written and sung by Wes Quave, this
ballad hit number 21 on the Adult Contemporary Gavin radio charts, a
national listing of radio airplay throughout the country. The MVP's
are currently recording original material for their next CD.
Sold out shows are the norm whenever the MVPs perform. They create
the magic and energy that gets the audience involved both on and off
the stage, and the enthusiasm and skill of their talented singers,
dancers, and musicians, has deservedly gained them a national
reputation. A few of the group's corporate clients include Star Radio
98.7, Kost Radio, AT&T, Pac Bell, Toyota, Nissan, The Walt Disney
Company, Sony Pictures, KTTV Fox 11, KCAL TV, Hawaiian Tropics,
Mandalay Bay Las Vegas, The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas,
KMEX Channel 34, The World Cup Association, The Bob Hope Chrysler
Classic, Times Mirror, Enterprise Car Rentals Corporation, McDonalds,
Staples Center, and the Los Angeles Dodgers, Sundance Film Festival,

Bio http://www.deannajohnston.net/bio.html
She possesses one of the most rich and naturally appealing voices to
emerge in some time. Searlingly soulful, her emotional charge is
undeniable, her stage presence electrifying and passionate. Deanna
Johnston's unique bluesy vocal, combined with a fresh song writing
approach, make up the foundation of what may be one of the most
memorable female singer/songwriters we've heard in a while.
Captivating audiences all across the United States and abroad, Miss
Johnston's career began in the early 90s in the east of her native
Canada fronting a theater show band based out of Cleveland, Ohio. It
was with this band that she mastered the art of entertaining people,
molding the vibrant stage personality that captivates all who witness
it today. Years of extensive touring precipitated a shift to the west
coast and Vancouver, British Columbia in 1995, where she quickly
established herself as one of the most sought after profitable acts
around, all the while continuing to develop her song writing skills.
While firmly entrenched in the Canadian music scene, the intrepid
songstress took a leap of faith and left Vancouver in 1999 for Los
Angeles to focus on writing and recording her first full length CD
featuring her own original material.
With personal influences ranging from Etta James to Led Zeppelin to
her countrywoman Sarah McLachlan, Deanna describes her sound
as "mature blues-dipped new rock with an organic R&B-ish
sensibility". "I've always been drawn toward music that was
thoughtful, lyric-driven and introspective," she says with the rasp
of a working professional. "My music comes to you uncut, straight
from my heart." That said, the listener is in for a thrilling and
satisfying ride as this truly special new talent rises above the
radar.

This should be fun. Did you see this?
Rock Star Go Home! Announces Its ‘Celebrity Blogger’
By Monica E. Cohen
June 29, 2005
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Entertainment Wire – Today, Rock
Star Go Home took another step forward to sharing its
purpose with the rock, gaming, reality television and
INXS communities. At 9am (EST), it was announced that
Stephen Perkins, legendary drummer of Jane’s
Addiction, Porno for Pyros, Banyan and The Panic
Channel, would be the site’s Celebrity Blogger.
“This is going to be fun,” Perkins noted in an
interview, “It’s not often I get to offer up my ideas
on singers rockin’ out to win the lead role in a big
band like INXS.” The award-winning drummer is
referring to the new Mark Burnett reality tv show,
Rock Star: INXS, slated to air on CBS starting July
11.
Perkins should have some excellent insights on the
do’s and dont’s of being a lead singer. During his
career, Stephen has jammed with a premiere roster of
bands including Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot
Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Rancid, Sheryl Crow, Love and
Rockets, Camp Freddy, Peter Murphy, Hell Ride and
Methods of Mayhem.
“As for Rock Star Go Home,” Perkins noted, “I have to
be close-lipped about the site for now. But once it
launches, that blog is my domain to offer up the good,
the bad, the u-g-l-y.”
Perkins offered no additional clues to the lingering
question, “What is Rock Star Go Home?” However, more
hints continue to be dropped at
www.rockstargohome.com.
Adam Pick (site founder) stated, "Like all great
reality shows, there’s an excellent, counter-intuitive
twist about to be unleashed.” Pick continued, “All I
can say is that we are very happy to have a guy like
Stephen Perkins on board.”
To learn more about Stephen Perkins, please go to
