Rita Verreos, known best as San Antonio's past Survivor contestant, has snagged
another national TV gig. She's been hired by HSN (aka Home Shopping Network) as
a guest host. "I will be appearing continously," she said, stressing this won't
be a one-time appearance. "I am joining the HSN team."

Her debut on the network (Time Warner Cable Channel 43) is Sept. 2, when she'll
hawk some high-end handbags. Stay tuned for more details.

Support Rita Verreos in the 2007 Walk to Cure Diabetes

My dear friends:

I'm writing to you to ask for your support in a very special cause.

This year, along with other SURVIVOR castmates, I've been invited to
take part in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk to Cure
Diabetes along with a half-million other walkers across the country.
Our goal: To raise $100 million to help fund research for a cure for
type 1 diabetes and its complications.

Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating, often deadly disease
that affects millions of people--a large and growing percentage of
them children.

Many people think type 1 diabetes can be controlled by insulin. While
insulin does keep people with type 1 diabetes alive, it is NOT a
cure. Aside from the daily challenges of living with type 1 diabetes,
there are many severe, often fatal, complications caused by the
disease.

That's the bad news... and yes, it's pretty bad.

The good news, though, is that a cure for type 1 diabetes is within
reach. In fact, JDRF funding and leadership is associated with most
major scientific breakthroughs in type 1 diabetes research to date.
And JDRF funds a major portion of all type 1 diabetes research
worldwide, more than any other charity.

I'm writing to ask for your support because now more than ever, EACH
of us can be a part of bringing about a cure. Each of us can make a
real difference

If you donate just $5, I can easily reach my goal. You may, of

It's inside the Kentucky Charity event folder.

Rita has just been invited to attend a couple of events here in San
Antonio.

1)For the Independent Film Producers Association.
They are having a very big event where they'd like Rita to be a
be a judge. Look for the press release to be posted soon.

2) On July 26th, also in San Antonio, Rita will be the closing
speaker at an event at the Alamodome where she will be helping to
educate the local latino community about the advances in bone marrow
transfer. Again, look forward to more detailed information about
this event soon.

As you can see, Rita is keeping busy!

Kentucky Charity Event Brings In Reality Stars This Past Weekend -
including Rita Verreos.

This past weekend (Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7) more than 30
celebrities, including favorites from Survivor (like Rita Verreos) and
celebs from The Amazing Race were in Louisville, Kentucky,to raise
money for Kosair Charities and Kosair Kids at the fourth Kentuckiana
Police and Firefighter Summer Bash Benefit. The money brought in at the
events will be used to purchase gifts for children stuck in the
hospital during Christmas.

Just following up. Did anybody see that Rita emceed the Texano Tv
Anniversary party in San Antonio over weekend of June 23/24. (photo to

Also, emceed the Puerto Rican festival on Sunday, June 24th, in down
