A new HH's box set (28 discs) released November 24, 2009.
DVD extras includes "Richard Dawson Remembers".
In the link above there is a short video of Richard Dawson. Here's the dialogue
(BTW...I love that shirt!!):
Hi Amazon Shoppers, I'm Richard Dawson.
I played Corporal Peter Newkirk, six years on Hogan's Heroes.
It was magic time, I loved it.
Here's one of my favorite scenes....
So be sure to pick it up, The Kommandant Kollection.
Just like I picked it up.
It's a complete series of DVD's, magic, it's magic time.
I'm going to watch it backwards, that way I get younger.
You'll love it.
Happy 77th Birthday!
I searched twitter.com this morning and found the following quizzes. I am sure
there will be more tweets as the day continues.
Mix 92.1 - Caro, Michigan Radio Station Mix Morning Pop Quiz: Richard Dawson
was the original host of "The Family Feud". In what year did the show first run?
Call 673-6103 if you know!
96.7 YES-FM Movie Quiz Question...Richard Dawson is 77 today....remember this
one? 2 part question....who played Ben Richards and what 1987 movie is that?
I'm pretty sure he was in the group that survived, but he didn't have any lines
toward the end.
Re the accent, it reminds me of a HH episode called, "The Scientist", where
Newkirk has to pretend he's LeBeau. He actually manages to speak French with a
Cockney accent! It's hillarious to hear!

he WAS the whole movie. It was a fantastic performance! I've always been
surprised that he didn't go on to do a lot more movies after that.

RD used in "Devil's Brigade" wasn't just regular Scottish, it was
Canadian-Scottish! That kind of attention-to-detail had to be for personal
satisfaction. I mean, how many people watching the movie were going to know?
