I know nobody posts here anymore and whatever, but I just have to
laugh at something.

I think it's so amusing that people will believe ANYTHING their
told. "I'm Richard Dawson!" "Richard is dying!" etc. and even if
you tell them no, they still believe it. Then one of Richard's sons
comes along, posts that these things are NOT true, people backtrack
and say they had a feeling or whatever.

Then after being duped 50 times, someone else comes along, says they
read something in a NEWSPAPER (not some fan saying they heard from
someone from someone else that blah blah) and everyone says there's
no way. So basically, "I'm a fan and I HEARD from poeple that RD
blah blah" is acceptable, but "I read in a paper that RD blah blah"
is not?

Exactly what are the rules to this game? You make one person feel
like they know it all, and then you make another feel like a complete
liar and fraud. Lovely. Personally, I would have believed the
newspaper over a fan's story since SO many fans have made things up
in the past.

If you know something you think is true, then don't tell the entire
internet until you KNOW it's true or can prove it. Otherwise
everyone goes through this "Is this true? Oh, lemme go tell the
world!" and it gets all out of hand.

If Richard's head was hanging on his neck by a thread and was about
to fall off at any given second, do you think he'd want people to
know that? I know I wouldn't want the world knowing every detail of
my health, so if things aren't being broadcast in the media or from
RD himself, then there's a reason. Don't invade his privacy.
