Yes that is Guinness and as a matter of fact the photo was taken while
IN Ireland; so that's the real deal I'm drinking!
YES. That is toooo ironic! I JUST finished reading your entries about that situation.
Good God. That's really crazy. I've worked in media my whole career, as a reporter, a Madison Avenue PR guy and now as a corporate level media counselor and advise executives every day. On one hand, IF Tara and Amber were given this order for safety reasons, it's nice and considerate BUT steps over the line. This is where young people in the business get taken advantage of in my opinion. Imagine telling any celebrity on a show they cannot do their own promotion??? The agent and lawyers would be knocking.
The girls are smart if they felt they needed to do something themselves to generate publicity because the show, producers etc. are doing nothing. From my professional point of view, that's just stupid. You have two popular ladies wit great personalties working their tails off
at 2am live to basically earn money for the show and they can't give them a bit of attention?
Oh, that's media executive in me coming out...lol. It's Friday night, I'm off duty!
Anyhow, I said hello to Tara on her page and wished her well.
In cases like this, the best way to still keep a public profile would be for her and Amber to say hello on the Yahoo site and engage fans like that. If they'd like to say hi, share some things about themselves like hobbies etc. that would be fine and not step over lines or at least it shouldn't.
Hopefully, the girls will do that.

Well, their both great hosts but I think I'm a little biased towards
Tara since she took the time to check out my DoD3 Play2Win page.
Though if I had just started watching the show, I'd be in the middle.
Like I said, their both good hosts.
It is a bit perplexing as to why P2W doesn't offer on it's site a simple bio on the girls. I mean, they have the website so why not offer viewers and some info on Tara and Amber and also provide the girls some exposure and give them SOMETHING. Geez.. I think a third-string back up infielder in baseball gets more!

Well, I for one am totally for Tara. I think she's great. Great
personality, vibrant, engaging, ad-libs, seems to honestly try to
engage the audience and make the games and puzzles FUN and is one
beautiful lady.
Here in NYC, Tara was the sole host back in August and I honestly
was a bit annoyed that Tara had to share the show when it came back.
But, then again, as someone who has worked in media, spoken in front
of cameras and news writers etc, I also used to think what a great
job she was doing at 2am live trying to keep the show going, the
flow of conversation good and stay "excited". It is tough. And Tara
is really good at it.
Nothing at all against Amber. I like her too. But, for me Tara is IT.
I hope she takes advantage of the exposure and at least gets her own
webpage going. The poor girls don't get any acknowledgement from the
show, WPIX or WGN. Ridiculous.

I saw it, and I thought it was funny. Like, it was funny because some
of the things, namely the point about the letters in 'letter shake'
moving, were things that I had picked up on before. I distinctly
remember that airing when Tara said something like "it may be tougher
because the letters are moving around" and me going "...what?" Eh,
when your improving, silly lines like that come out every now and again.

Hi,
In case you didn't see it or know about it, VH1's show, "The Best Week
Ever" aired a spot about P2W a few weeks ago. The spot as all of them
was very sarcastic, maybe even insulting if you take it too seriously,
but that is the nature of the show: to throw sarcasm at everything in
its path.
The good thing though which I can attest to as someone who works in
media (and did the whole Madison Avenue thing too) is that the very
fact VH1 spent several minutes covering the show means it is catching
on as a pop culture point of interest. It really is a form of media
flattery because you know your show is in trouble if NOBODY covers,
lampoons or cares about it!
gene
PS: I'll find the link to the VH1 show and send it in another e mail.
Well, last night's show was ok. It
was just ok because nothing really notable, other than the usual giving money
away, happened. Though at the beginning of the show I stared at the center of
the Fair and Square puzzle for a few seconds in amusement. The Fair and Square
had the topic of "picknicks" apparently. Luckily Tara
said something about it a few minutes into the game. Well…maybe the graphics
guy wanted to put a reference to the New York Knicks into the show lol.
I have to give it to Amber, she's
hosting the hell out of these shows now…if that makes sense. She could probably
hold down a whole hour if they ever went to a schedule where the hosts take
turns nightly (which I doubt they will.) It's actually gotten to the point now
where it would feel kind of weird to have one host missing.
Quote of the Night:
"If you were on your couch, and you saw $400 floating by, you'd grab it
right?" –Amber
I don't know about that really. If
I saw 400 bucks floating in mid air I would be kind of freaked out! Who knows
what would happen if you disturb it! Lol
On a final note: If their going
to play just the Fair and Square and Shuzzle all the time, at least make them
interesting. Like in the FnS, instead of having 4 words hidden in it have one
long word that people have to find…like `heliocentrically' or something. Lol
Hello P2W devotees,
I was on Wikipedia and entered Play2Win and after reading the entry
(which you can find below I came across this site. NICE! Thanks for
taking the time to create it.
I saw Play2Win on its very first night on WPIX in NYC this past
August and have been interested in it ever since. I was SO happy to
see TARA back a few weeks ago hosting the show!! Tara is IT to me.
The show. I tune in because of her. I LOVE her personality. Adore
her smile and think she is a great host for this. I think I'll need
to send some e mails and notes to some magazines and papers and let
some writers know they need to wactch this throwback show to the

Tara.
I have nothing against Amber but just simply am a fan of Tara and
believe she does a great job. Let's face it:

Need to ad-lib, fill time, be personable etc.etc.

I hope we all have the time to send WPIX a note to let them know

Well last night was interesting,
particularly in game 2, Amber's Shuzzle. Play2Win saw its second loss I believe
on a game other than Sure Shot (I could be wrong though.) Of course, it
happened when the guy wasn't near his TV and had like 5 seconds to answer the
puzzle. Being a small show with only a handful of contestants, he was mentioned
quite a bit, mostly by Amber, during the remainder of the show…which is kind of
a no-no I think. Nonetheless, it was interesting as hell to watch. Of course I
taped it last night since that's my early night…I always seem to miss the good
things when they actually happen! Lol Last week it was the Shuzzle graphic drop out, this week it's the guy losing...
I can it was to much other stuff and not a attention on the games.
That and very low Production values. Best part was jeri Lee. But she
no Mel Peachey. I watch a lil of Play2Win I love for Tara to be the
third host on Playmania she fit in great and she hot.

I honestly don’t remember all that
much from last night’s show after a long day at college. So I won’t even make
any comments other than something I definitely remembered:
Quote of the Show:

Yeah, I have to agree that P2W is better than what was Midnight Money
Madness. I don't know, there was just something I never liked about
MMM and I can't exactly put my finger on the reason.

A new Play2Win week has started
but unfortunately they stuck to the format that they used last week featuring 2
different games in the same 5 game configuration. What happened to Letter
Shake, Pyramid, Missing Word, or even Sure Shot?! An interesting note about
last night though: most of the callers were from New York
City (a great deal from Brooklyn
to be exact) even though the show was national. Something I definitely noticed
was that Amber has gotten significantly better at hosting since the show's
start.
As an end note: The puzzles last
night were as easy as they could possibly make them. The first Fair and Square
was like an insult! lol The people that watch this show aren't idiots; Play2Win
really needs to make their puzzles a bit tougher, it would be much more fun that
way instead of just seeing the game for 2 seconds and going "it's Scooby Doo!!"
I'll put a Tara quote here from last night:
"You don't have to be clever to play this game; you just need to be fast."
One more thing: Tara and Amber
alluded to the fact that players need to put "1900" in front of their "1900 288
PLAY" phone number. That and when you enter online, you don't e-mail your
answer. All I can say is jeez...lol
I came across Play2Win after watching PlayMania back
in October. It caught my attention because I've gotten
interested in these type of shows because of PlayMania
and I've seen a few of the British shows on the
internet. That, and the fact the Tara got my attention
too. (lol).

Welcome to the group everyone. Hopefully as time goes on this place
will start to jump a bit. So, lets start with a nice easy question to
start group talk. When and how did you start watching Play2Win?
For me, I was simply flipping through the channels back in August and
I saw the show on as Text2Win in it's second night apparently.
Actually, I bet most people found this show thanks to channel surfing.
Anyway, during the rest of August and September, I'd always think "is
that show ever going to come back?" while watching Playmania or while
scanning through my saved MS Word documents as one of them was a
comparison of PM and Text2Win which was at that point bound for my
site (that particular one never made it btw.) So then on October 14th
or so, I was looking at an online guide for what's going to be on TV
and I saw some show called Play2Win listed for the next night on
CW-11. I was like "WHOA! It's coming back!?" I would have had no clue
if I didn't look at the schedule.
So yeah, thats my story. What's yours?
Here are all the entries from this week, I'm transferring them over from the old Tripod page where they probably got less than zero hits. _______________________________________________________

Not too bad of a show last night, they took in a fair amount of
callers. The 3 Shuzzles was a bit overkill though. One thing we found
out last night is that Amber likes to dip french fries into ice cream.
I found that mildly gross especially since I'm used to those big greasy
diner fries. Tara had one of her better performances last night I
thought despite a cold apparently and Amber seems to be getting much
more comfortable on the show. Finally, at least one person spoke to the
TV delay but it was more funny than annoying to me since I had just
written about that topic on my Play2Win page.

I sort of half watched this show as I was doing some work on the
computer and keeping an ear on the TV to make sure I get the
information that I need. Occasionally I stepped into the other room to
actually watch a couple minutes here and there. With that out of the
way, I noticed that they weren't using the clock music all the way
through the timer's duration. THANK GOD. Amber eluded to that fact near
the end of her first Shuzzle and I dashed into the room to hear it
first hand and bask for second in the non-clicking glory.
I
stayed for Tara's second Shuzzle after noticing that the answer, in a
weird coincidence (or was it...), was "roller coaster." Anyone who has
seen my site would absolutely know that I'm a huge amusement park fan.
For clues, Tara noted that the longest of "these" was in Ohio and it is
named the 'Beast.' Yes that is kind of true, it is in fact the longest
in the US, but not in the world. After the break she added the word
'fastest' to the mix, which is wrong when talking about Ohio coasters.
In 2004 it was true but now the fastest (and tallest) resides in my
home state of NJ. Heres a great pic of it for anyone who cares.
Finally, the show seemed about as good as last night's broadcast
talent-wise. Technically the show seemed better than some episodes I've
seen. I definitely noticed that the momentary break in some of the
cutscenes was fixed. The control room seemed to run a nice show last
night from what I saw.
During the previous show I 'half' watched it, last night I didn't watch
it at all because I need to get up early this morning. I did tape the
show though. Soon I'll have a computer code that deciphers everything
on Play2Win for me and automatically puts it into this blog. lol
So, the show looked alright...until the 2nd Shuzzle that is, where the
graphics started to screw up. Thanks to taping I know that from minutes
28:40 to 30:12, the game was not visible at all, leaving Tara to improv
for a couple of minutes while it was being fixed. Gee, those Big Fake
Bills came in handy for once!
Other than that unfortunate highlight, everything seemed to go smoothly...at least it looked good being fast-forwarded.
As an end note: I have had my own notion confirmed that club goers have
the worst musical tastes ever. The Milkshake song has got to be the
worst song in the history of music if you ask me...yet Amber loves it.
One last thing, I bet that tonights game line-up will be: Fair and Square, Shuzzle, Shuzzle, Shuzzle, Fair and Square.
This
show went pretty smoothly; actually it went so smoothly that there's
next to nothing to talk about here! I liked how Amber said that her
"magic wasn't working" whenever the timer clock would come on minus the
timer clicking music. No Amber, your magic was working in that you
effectively made the clicking noise go away! THANK YOU!
In
the GSN forums I said, and I quote: "If they play Fair and Square,
Shuzzle, Shuzzle, Shuzzle, and Fair and Square in that order for the 4th
night in a row…I'll kick the TV in." Well they did, and I kicked the TV
in with the help of my black steel toed boots. No I'm kidding…but when
they do it again tonight…
As
a final note: Tara looked absolutely stunning on the show last night
and if common tradition holds true, she'll look completely different
tonight.
First off, this airing was only seen in the NY/NJ area due to the show simply not being aired nationally on Fridays.
Once
again, they decided to go the route of playing the same 2 games in the
same 5 game configuration. For most people that watch the show, it
doesn't matter because they probably only catch it maybe 2 nights a
week. Since I have it on every night, it got pretty bland to me and
probably to other nightly viewers. Hopefully they were just
reconfiguring the other games or something and their not planning on
showing endless amounts of Fair and Squares and Shuzzles for the rest
of the shows' life. I'm just begging to see Sure Shot again even though
it's such a backwards game. Plus I'll get to report a different amount
of `total players' and `total winners' for once.
Ok,
now that I got my little tirade out of the way: Hosting was good last
night; both Amber and Tara seemed to just roll right along from what I
caught. Production was exceptional as well; they seemed to have ironed
out all of the little quarks they had in the shows first couple of
weeks. Finally, turn your TVs down people, please! I heard the TV delay
come through clear as day last night due to a contestant talking on the
show with their TVs volume cranked to 11.
