That is great news.  I went today to Best Buy and got two copies.  I had my letter signed for one at the Frankfort, IL. Public Library.  I am going to donate the other to a soldier.  I will comment on the message board that I did in fact do this.  I will then mail in my signed copy to ABC and what else do I need to do?  Make a copy of the receipt and send it in too??  The lady at the library would not stamp it, but she did sign it.  (what is the big deal with not getting people to stamp the form??  don't get that???)  Tell me what else to do and then we are set.  Hopefully today I will find a soldier that I can mail out with a care package.
 
Thanks you guys for all your hard work.  I would also comment this to The View on what you are doing along with TV Guide maybe??

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing.  For those of you that
have blogs or a myspace you can go the the left of the screen on the
home page here and click on "promote". There you will find codes that
you can copy and paste into your blog to add a "join" button for our
group.

We had another donation this morning!  Ever since some members have
used the button in their blog the activiy has increased which is GREAT
news. So by all means GO add it!  lol

OK guys, here is the news as promised!

We are so very thankful for everyone who is joining "Pay October Road
Forward" and dontaing DVD's to libraries and soldiers, and as a token
of our appreciation we wanted to offer a prize drawing!

I have been in communication with Rebecca and she is very amazed with
all of you ! She will get a signed October Road script or picture for
the campaign and there will be a drawing for one lucky participant to
win it!

Here is the kicker!

There is a POSSIBILITY of a walk on for next season for one VERY
fortunate person.  You know... like an extra!

Now don't jump out of your seats, it is only a POSSIBILITY at this
point, but my guess is that it will be a probability if we get
renewed.

Details still need to be ironed out as far as when we will hold the
drawing for the script or picture. You will receive ONE entry per DVD
donation. Hold on to your proof of donation just in case! For those
of you who have not made copies of your signed letter, we will figure
something out,  don't panic. lol. For those of you who have sent your
DVD to a soldier, hang on to your copy of the customs form.

  The same applies IF a walk on is confirmed. (One entry per DVD
donation)

Certain items may be added as time goes on depending on what is still
available . I will update if or when anything else is added.



I said it before and I will say it again......

Good morning everyone!  I want to start by thanking all of the new
members who recently joined!  Our group is growing by the day! WOO
HOOOOOO!

"Pay October Road Forward" had 3 NEW DVD and 18 book dontations
yesterday!  Way to go!

For all of those who have not updated their donation in the group or
on the ABC boards please do so ASAP.  I know alot of you were waiting
for delivery of your copy so just a friendly reminder the status has
changed.

Today is a big day for us. We are reaching out to various media
outlets in an attempt to gain more exposure for our camaign!  Wooo
Hooo!

My name is Lauren, I'm from NJ and by this weekend, my local library in

Hello,

I just wanted to make note that I've officially joined the campaign. I
ordered Season 1 of October Road from Amazon and as soon as it arrives,
I will be making my way to the library with the form letter.
I intend to have this completed by this weekend. The library that I
will donate to is in Mahwah, NJ.
If for some reason they have a copy already (maybe donated by a fellow
local Roadie...wishful thinking!!) I'll let you know what library the
DVD actually ended up at.

Many are having problems opening the file. I am sorry. I am not good
that kind of stuff. So, if you came here from someplace other than the
abc.com boards, you can follow this link to where this letter is also
posted in a thread at the boards where you can do a cut and paste and
put into whatever program you use on your computer.

Remember to post after you have done the donating to HOW MANY DVD's, IF

okay I am new here, and would LOVE to participate in this campaign, however, I
cannot open
those files to print out the form letter.  I use a MAC and don't have andy
Microsoft programs.
Is there anyway someone could copy and paste it here for me, or change it to a
PDF file?  I am
a little computer illiterate, but want to do this thing!!!

went to? If you don't feel comfortable telling me that

I have in the mail as of Monday the 24th my letter.  It includes my
receipt from amazon.com and a slip of paper given to me by the library
I donated to, signed by the library.

I sent my letter  to the address you provided attention October Road.

Welcome new members to the Pay October Road Forward campaign. If you
got here from the October Road message boards from ABC.com, you
probably know all the buzz that is going on. If you got here from
another source, make sure to read the first post about the campaign.

Please let me know if you have participated in this campaign by either
posting here, posting on the ABC.com board or by emailing me at
debsavoninct@....

I am keeping a thorough count of the total number of DVD's are being
donated and what other items you may have donated. I will compile a
total list, which I will report on weekly on Wednesdays here and at the
ABC boards, in addition to this will all be presented to ABC mid May.

Thanks so much for joining and pass the word along to your friends and
family to join in the efforts to save our show. Only with combined
efforts on everyones part will this be accomplished.

Hello members,

Remember to let it be known either by posting here, the abc OR boards
or you can send the owner, me, a private email when you have donated
your copy of OR. I am keeping a count and will be posting each
Wednesday where we stand as far as donations as to keep the momentum
and excitement going.

Welcome to everyone. If you have arrived here, then you must be
planning to help in the cause to save October Road!! Great!!

Do you eat out? Order pizza in? I know I do order pizza in for my
family and it usually will cost us about $22 for a very large pizza
here in my town. Why am I saying this you ask? Well, I figured I can go
without pizza for one week or eating out to lunch a few times over the
course of two weeks, and purchase a copy of the first season of October
Road and donate it to my towns library. They always welcome donations
and it is a way to get others to watch October Road!

Let's take it a step further. We take this copy to the librarian and
explain to her or him that we would like to donate this copy and ask
them to sign the letter that you made this donation. Explain that we
are participating in a campaign to save this particular show. This
letter you will then send to ABC. Why is this important? We need to
show ABC we are serious about saving this show. We are passionate about
it. We can post at all the different sites and vote, which we should
continue doing, but they need to see some action! This serves a dual
purpose. Advertise and get October Road out into hands of people who
have not seen it and a donation to a library that already typically is
short in funds to purchase new DVD's and books.

Do you have a senior center in town? They might like one too.

Okay, so let's get this official campaign going. As you can see, we are
calling it PAY OCTOBER ROAD FORWARD.

First, purchase a copy of October Road first season.

Second, in the files section here is the letter you will use to take
with you to have the librarian sign.

Third, mail this letter after signing it yourself to ABC.

Please post here after you have done this so we can keep track of how
many have been done. And if you did more than one, then state that in
the post.

Time is of the essence! We need to act now if we are to save our show!!
