as has been mentioned, there's nothing in the show.

but it has come up twice in the novels.
in the Year 2 Book #6, Dr. Russell's Status report in on December 25, 2005, and
mentions
it is Christmas Day.
There is another reference in the German Year 2 book #12, where Helena's status
report is
one year later on December 25, 2006 (this Christmas!). She mentions it is
Christmas day,
and although it brings joy to many, for others it is a reminder of everything
they have lost
since Breakaway.

<<<LOL>>>! Add: Sandra: Pronunciation lessons so she doesn't say Carter
in a manner which resembles a TV teacher in the U.S. in the 70's!

I was thinking;
- Helena: A brand new reproduction antique Microscope.
- Victor: A Case of Cuban Cigars, and new strings for his violin, resin and a
new, real horse hair bow...
- Tony: a recipe for a German Beer, and a complete Zymurgy Kit to make it
with...
- Maya: a jacket identical to Helena's(Season 2, the sky blue and white one with
the belt... ) but red or orange with white...
- Kano: a handmade wooden Nine Men's Morris set...
- John: Throat Losenges and Anger Management Lessons...
- Alan&John: Eagle Flight Training(Mandatory!)...
- Commissioner Simmonds: A book, How to win friends and Influence People(By Dale
Carnegie.)!
- Sandra: A mattress to land on when she passes out to due excess excitement
during an encounter with someone or something from beyond their(Alpha's)
perimetre and the Alphan's collective ken...

Of course most of you are aware of Zienia Merton's book, "Anecdotes &
Armadillos", but I
offer this email for those new members of the list who might not be aware of it,
and for
those of you who haven't purchased it yet... it would make a wonderful Christmas
present
for yourself or someone special in your life!

Here is the link to Zienia's website with all the details;

http://www.zienia.com/BookRelease.htm

And here are a few words about the book;

Written by Zienia Merton, and edited by Robert E. Wood, Anecdotes & Armadillos
is a
diverse, entertaining and frequently laugh-out-loud funny collection of
anecdotes from
throughout her life and career. Zienia Merton is most well-known worldwide for
her
portrayal of 'Sandra Benes' in the 1970s science fiction series Space: 1999, and
her time
on Moonbase Alpha is well documented in the book. Also featured, among many
others,
are Doctor Who, Gregory Peck, 'Feidka' the tiger, Ridley Scott, the Sahara, and
a promise of
fur and nudity! Gracing the 195 pages are 34 photos from Zienia's career on
television,
film and stage, two letters of great interest and the last (joke) call-sheet
from Year One of
Space: 1999 - a must for every fan!

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to vote.

Space: 1999 is now up to a respectable 423 votes and
has one of the faster rising vote totals the past
couple of weeks which is a real credit to all of the
fans here!!

Trying to be an optimist here, yes the number has increased. That's always a
good thing. Not being pessimistic(but realistic), I'm sure our beloved show
won't reach the #1 spot but at least it could get closer. From what I saw there,
Xena: Warrior Princess seems to be in the lead with 159,170 votes! That's gonna
be hard to beat!

Certainly Space: 1999 isn't going to challenge the
leading vote getters but those leaders are all part of
the official list of choices so they naturally get
much greater emphasis. I suspect that if 1999 had
somehow been on that list then it would have a far
higher total than the write-in amount it currently
has.

BUT, as a write-in candidate, if Space: 1999 were to
get over 1400 votes right now then this would
leap-frog it into the "Current Top 10 Leading
Nominations" which would put it in fine company
indeed.

Maya. The jackets should be the same pattern as Helena's...

Okay here is a little stupid something..

You can wear a Space 1999 uniform what sleeve colour department are
you?

Okay,i have made 1999 uniforms so i have proberlly worn at least half
the sleeve colours on offer. I have ven explored ideas of what
coloured sleeves maybe we have never seen, maybe a dress uniform top
and how the uniform might develop and made a army combat sweater
Commander design which i joking call Commander series III. I have
worn Comd Black, Main Mission Flame(red)1999 Fanderson conventions in
Leeds, Service Section Yellow. Once at a Fanderson convention in
London '92 Most recently i wore a Recon Orange at a local bash here
in Plymouth

I have never worn Purple,Rust(brown)White)

When it come to Star Trek i have almost always worn the colour
undershirt that i am entitled to based on proffesion and job..with
1999 i have never worn white that was medical!! I am currently not
sure what sleeve colour equated with a Shoe salesperson, most likley
yellow!!

(as far as i know) with what was once called 'Yuppie flu' the name
escapes me but it can affect you that you are constantly terid and worn
out!! I am one of the lucky one who can work limited hours. However
under the English Benefit system if you are married forget little or
any help from the state!!

Due to the suspected arthritus in my hands as needs dictates with
painkillers I wear splints on my hands. As with all arthritus
conditions to suffer it puts a greater strain on a body damaged over
thgat of an abled bodied person

To anyone with Fibromialgia:

I am an independent business owner of a company which makes a product
called Ambrotose. This product has Patents in almost every country
except Canada (the Canadian Government is slow to catch onto anything
which is new -- believe me I know)! This product has had several double
blind placebo tests and is a way of improving your odds against many
Immune System conditions (not just to you, but to everyone). It is so
good, I take 2x the usual dose, and I have no health challenges! To
learn more, go to http://www.cureanydisease.com/ then come to
http://omni.tech.myglycostore.com/

Mannatech also makes a Product called Plus, which fortifies your
Endocrine System, Sport and Empact, which aids in post workout muscle
recovery, Glycentials and Catalyst, which aid in weight loss, Firm,
which helps with flab (from after weight loss/having a baby, and
Ambroderm and Emprizone which help with skin!

Yes, She sure would be. I think she looks as good as her mother did back in the
mid to late 70s, if not better. I wonder what she would look like if she wore
her mother's Yr. 2 costume(the one from The Metamorph, that Barbara wore when
they went to investigate Psychon)? With a dye job, cut and style, she might be
the spitting image of her mother back then...

Juliet is great. She doesn't look that old though. Maybe she should
be a bit older to play Russel.

I think you're talking about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or CFS. Some in the
medical profession still say it "doesn't exist" --- shows how much doctors
really know!

LOL..... at my very first science fiction convention ( which was one of the
big main
Star Trek conventions of old ) in the summer of 1976 I wore my eagle pilot
costume
with the yellow sleeve most all the time.....

Considering all the commotion between Trek fans and those of us who were
partial
to 1999 back then you can imagine the reaction ;-)

• Also Monday, NASA announced plans for a permanent
base on the moon by 2024—for you science-fiction TV
obscurists, that’s 25 years later than Martin Landau
and crew set up lunar shop in Space: 1999. The main
purpose for such a zillion-dollar base will be much
like that of Utah’s in North America: to serve as a
gas-up stop en route to more-desired destinations—in
this case, Mars. Also, NASA may not go it alone: “This
is the next step forward in terms of exploring and
understanding the universe,” said Hugues Gilbert of
the Canadian Space Agency. “We feel that it is very
important for Canada to be part of that international
effort.” Hold up! Forget living on the moon—there’s a
Canadian Space Agency? .

Yeah, it's about time! By the time they get it erected(if they get it erected!)
it'll be ten years after the "breakaway" year. I'm wondering why they didn't
build the base earlier. This could be an important stepping stone toward deep
space exporation.

Did the Alphans go to Lapland in one episode? (snow everywhere) and find
Santa and his helpers in a cave (although I think santa had a brown beard
and offered presents of immortality).
