I guess I just happen to like long hair in general. Mine hangs down
between my shoulder blades these days.

To the member who called this a "Holy GRAIL" may suggest you try looking at
Chinese web sites and find things in them. A co-worker of mine who is Chinese
spent many hours with me finding paper models that I would and I thought I would
pass the Eagle along. I am woundering if I made a BIG MISTAKE offering this

I also have a paper model of the Comlock and Stun Gun. I was going to send
these models out but not if members are going to make a big fuss of it!

Hi!

For those of you in the UK, or with cable access to BBC1, following
tv.com http://www.tv.com/judge-john-deed/one-angry-
man/episode/612735/cast.html tomorrow's episode of Judge John Deed
(BBC1, 9.30GMT) features Zienia Merton as guest star.

I am nowadays much more Martin Shaw-oriented than Space 1999, just
thought it might be a good idea for those not in the know.

Regards

Chiara

Hey Everybody,

With the kind permission of the moderator, I'd like to take a moment to
invite members to join discussion groups that are centered around the
stars of Space: 1999.

Terry S. Bowers, the President of the Barbara Bain and Martin Landau fan
groups, has stepped down after more than 25 years of service to fandom.
Both of her longtime organizations have now gone inactive. I would like
to take this opportunity to salute Terry for all of her work over these
many years and for the publication and distribution of hundreds of
newsletters over the past three decades.

While the fan clubs have closed, we can now move some of the functions of
those clubs into the digital age. So, I'd like to invite fans of both
Barbara and Martin to consider joining the respective discussion and
information groups that have been formed in their honor. This will be one
of the quickest ways to learn about new projects that the actors are
involved in. Barbara's group has been up and running for more than four
years, and the new Martin Landau group has just been formed. The links to
join are:

MARTIN LANDAU
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MartinLandau/join

BARBARA BAIN
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BarbaraBain/join

As well, for a number of years Vivian Stanley ran "The Morse Code", a fan
club for actor Barry Morse. The discussion list for Barry has been up and
running for several years and the link to join that group is:

BARRY MORSE
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BarryMorse/join

The respective groups are set up to discuss all aspects of the careers and
lives of the actors. We look forward to seeing you there!

Thanks,
Anthony Wynn

My three choices for the villian in the (eventual) Space: 1999 movie:

1) Christopher Lee (returning as Zantor)
2) Peter O'Toole (playing a madman who left Earth on his own not long
before the Moon was cast out into space)
3) Ricardo Montalbaun (same as above)

Yup, Mr. Roarke is still alive, and apparently he is still working.
So maybe he could play some bad guy in Space: 1999: The Motion Picture.

Hello Alphans everywhere!

I built the paper model Commlock over the weekend. Printed it on
card-stock in color and scored the fold-lines with an Xacto knife,
cut the rest with good scissors. The scored lines fold very sharply,
it's a must for this model. It turned out o.k., but I'm not rocket
surgeon when it comes to models, and working with Elmer's school glue
can be messy - probably better to apply it with a Q-Tip or something.
It did scale very accurately to my resin Commlock once finished (the
print area must be 7.5" x 10"). I had not ever built a paper model
before, and it was a lot of fun!

That guy put a lot of work into making the model, but can I kindly
suggest something? Get your favorite graphics editing program and
move all the cut-out-and-paste buttons to their respective positions
on the body of the Commlock, then print it. This reduces the
assembly time, and those slightly raised buttons aren't going to add
just a load of detail to what is already a delicate cardboard box
when finished. My other thought here is to glue these surface prints
to pieces of cut balsa wood. Probably around $6.00 USD at Hobby
Lobby and a little time in front of the band saw.

I printed the Eagle model pages on 8.5" x 11" (US paper standard size
"A"). After building the Commlock, I'm not going to attempt the Eagle
until I can print it at least 11x17 ("B"). Just too many dog-gone
tiny cutouts to do at 8.5 x 11. It looks very challenging! Has
anyone built this yet?

Phil, Thanks for the links! My kids and I enjoyed making this. Once
I edit the Commlock JPG's I'm going to have another go at it.

I was wondering if any of the collectors in here know: Didn't one of
the Space:1999 activity books have a cut-out-and-fold Commlock? Drop
me a line if you know of one. Have a good day, everyone!

Here is a blurb about Martin Landau's commentary on the Definitive
Twilight Zone set 5.

It's off the DVD Talk review site

--------------------------------------------------------
The final commentary is the second one by Martin Landau. Previously, he
delivered an excellent audio track for "Mr. Denton on Doomsday" despite
a relatively small role, and now he has a chance to talk in even more
depth as the star of "The Jeopardy Room". Unlike most, he talks
specifically about this episode and the many things he remembers about
it. It is very clear how fond he is of the series and how closely he
pays attention to his own work. As expected, this is one of the best in
the set.

I think Mr. Montalban is wheelchair-bound due to a car accident a few
years ago. It didn't stop him from tooling around in a flying
wheelchair in one of the Spy Kidz movies I hear!

Hi Joel,
It is Phil again. I am starting constuction on my EAGLE.
It will be BIG BIG BIG ! I took my plans to KINKOs copy and used their
oversize copier and produced parts for a model that will be allmost 6 feet in
length !
I am going to have too add alot of internal bracing for this modell that will
include cardboard and wooden dowls that I bought at a arts and crafts store.
In my last e-mail I am planning tosend out a easyer to build EAGLE model. I am
thinking about adding a launch pad too it and would thank everyone for their
comments.

Hello Alphans,
Joel I am glad you enjoyed the paper Space 1999 models.
I use "TACKEY GLUE" to build all of my paper models. It comes under several
vendor names including ALEENES what is what I use.
Get ready for my next model. It is another EAGLE model that is smaller and not
such a pain in the BOOSTERS to build!
It only has 4 pages and I will get it scaned into my computer real soon.My
wife and I got notice we have to move from our home because it was found to have
verry bad construction problems and it has tobe gutted and rebuilt.I will be a
little slow getting this model sent out so please stand by.

I was wondering if any of the collectors in here know: Didn't one of
the Space:1999 activity books have a cut-out-and-fold Commlock? Drop
me a line if you know of one. Have a good day, everyone!

Pete I agree Montalbaum was great as Khan. I love to watch Star Trek 2 THE WRATH
OF KHAN over and over.
To anybody who wants it I have Khans ship SS Bontany Bay as a extensive paper
model.

If there ever is a Space: 1999 movie I would hope that it has lots of
great brittish actors like the series did. Leon McKern was great as
Companion. And Joan Collins was also excellent in her appearance.

Hopefully I win the lottery soon. I'd like to have my own full-scale
replica. :)
