Good evening!
What a SUPER show tonight! Again, very talented singers and
dancers. I give all four contestants major props for getting up on a
stage in front of thousands of viewers and just giving their all.
What a rush and a dream come true. Here's quick rundown on my
thoughts from tonight's episode...
Harlemm Lee – He has a very passionate and dramatic personality that
comes across in his performance. Spectacular stage presence and
excellent crowd participation. I also think he has a very pretty
voice.
Carolyn Zeppa – She's very pretty and commands attention when she
steps on the stage. I think she is very entertaining and her
dramatic dancing is dynamic.
Johannes Williams – What a high-energy performance. I LOVE his funky
dancing and all-star b-boy moves. I also enjoyed his sound effects
and his unique style. I think he would make a SUPER lead dancer.
Lauren Hildebrandt – What a beautiful person! Her facial
expressions, dramatic personality, and angelic voice grabbed my
attention and kept me enthralled through her entire performance. I
loved her delivery, presentation, and attitude. Plus…she's just too
darn cute!
Sean Dolan – QT!!!!! He is definitely a performer with great crowd
interaction and an adorable personality. His positive attitude and
high energy will take him far in the entertainment business. He also
looked like he was having an amazing time!
Moy – What can I say…I loved her from the moment she stepped on the
stage. She is full of passion, drama, beauty, style, and grace. She
commands attention in a subtle way and something about her is just
radiant. I like her confidence, diverse vocals, and cool style. I
can't wait to see what she'll do next!
Overall, I really enjoyed all of tonight's performers and can hardly
wait to see next week's two-hour special. Unfortunately for
me...I'll have to wait till next Sunday to see the event (on tape)
and I'll be out of town. Oh well...
Until then, keep on dancing and living your dreams!
krazikiwi
Hello everyone!!! I was out of town with a confernece for work and
could hardly wait to get home to see Monday's episode. I just got
back this evening and watched FAME (which my fiance taped for me).
What a SPECTACULAR show!!!! Everyone did a SUPER job and gave an
outstanding performance. Here's a quick recap…
Alexis Adler – What a firecracker! She is beautiful with a dynamic
personality, a phenomenal set of pipes, vivacious eyes, and an all
around well-put together performance. I thought her emotion and
catlike mannerism were perfect for her performance and the music she
performed to. I think she would be FANTASTIC on Broadway!
Dion Watson – He has Spectacular energy and is a fly dancer. He has
fancy footwork, awesome locking and popping, and can smooth
everything together. I think Dion would make a SUPER lead/backup
tour dancer or he would be a HUGE hit in music videos. Keep on
dancing!!!!
Allyson Arena – Her personality is confident and spunky. As soon as
she walks on stage she commands attention. Her vocals are
outstanding, her dancing fit perfectly with her song and I think she
is definitely a triple threat. I also think Allyson would be
PHENOMINAL on Broadway. On a side note, I LOVE her curly red hair…it
fits her personality perfectly.
Justin Jacoby – He has funk, spunk, and all around passion. His
creativity will take him far in the industry and I like his dancing…
locking and popping (I have to learn to do that…perhaps some of the
fame stars from this evening will explain how its done.) Major props
to Justin for performing his own rap (I'm sure a dream come
true)!!!!! The lyrics were fun and had meaning.
Christine Evangelista – What a beautiful person full of drive and
passion. She's captivating, dynamic, and sassy. I can't wait to see
where life takes her (as I'm sure we'll see more of her in the future)
…perhaps on Broadway!
Raymond Lee – From the moment he stepped on stage he just beamed with
confidence and radiance. His smile is genuine and trust-worthy. I
liked his high energy, positive attitude and smooth performance.
This show just keeps getting better and better. I'm so excited to
see tomorrow's "dancers who can sing" and "singers who can dance."
Until then...keep on dancing, reach for the stars, and believe all
your dreams can and will come true!
All the best,
krazikiwi
This recap goes over the third group of six who performed last night
Monday June 9th, 2003.
Debbie Allen - Main Judge, Choreographer, and Teacher
Joey Fatone - Host
Johnny Wright, Carnie Wilson, JoJo Wright = Judges
Each of the top 6 did a solo dance and song performance. Following
that all six will join together in a group dance number to see who
can stand out in a crowd of performers.
Final 6 with all Semifinalists = I Came To Work = Alexis was totally
rocking it out on this. It was cool. I noticed Todd, Danny and Serena
kicking ass at the dancing. Justin Jacoby got down with his moves and
his different take on the regular singing on his solo. He by far had
the best intro as well. I've seen Alexis dancing before in the
rehearsals and other performances and I felt her performance now was
much better than before. I saw Shannon in the back as well definitely
holding her own.
Top 6 going at it solo
Alexis Adler = "HEY BIG SPENDER" = Wow, let me just start by saying
this girls voice is awesome. I was starting to think she was
lipsynching cos it sounded too good to be true. Dancing was very
sexual. It kinda had a Lady Marmalade feel to it. She showed she can
totally use what she has. The song completely jumped over the
stagelights at me. She kicked some major ass on it. I was actually
shocked she could reach that intensity at her age. (On a sidenote
your boyfriend just made one of the biggest mistakes in his life
leaving you.) You got it girl.
Dion Watson = "I DON'T WANT ANYBODY...." = His dance moves were
totally right on. He has a good voice, but albeit a pretty voice.
This is not a song that needs a pretty voice. I do feel he choose the
wrong song to showcase his voice at least. He is definitely a good
dancer and I feel had he picked a different song he could have done
better. Overall because of the song choice I was not that impressed.
As a dancer I was blown away. I think the main thing here is that he
should have unprettied the song on his voice that way he wouldn't
have been a note above the song.
Allyson Arena = "CABARET" = Good voice. It took her a few notes to
come into the song. Once she jumped into it and found herself in the
tune she started doing good. Her voice shined more than her dancing
though. The whole dance routine seemed a little too high school
cheerleading at a pep rally. I'm with Carnie on this one she would do
great on Broadway but as far as pop or mainstream that remains to be
seen.
Justin Jacoby = "JUST A DREAM" = Ok so first of all this boy so far
has been the only one to perform a song he wrote. The boy can flow.
This is what I'm talking about. This is what I have been looking for.
First off his dancing and gliding across the stage was the bomb. It
all seemed so liquid. I loved it. He killed on the whole performance.
Total talent to spare. He's got the total package. The boy can write,
sing, rap, flow, dance. He totally kicked ass. It surprised me
completely. He had me glued to the TV the whole performance through
EVERY SINGLE SECOND of his performance. He's a total hottie so he has
the sex appeal thing working for him. Plus he showed his stomach.
Yeah bay. My moneys on Justin now. If worse comes to worse and he
does not win I'll still be first in line to buy his album. Great
lyrics as well. Extreme talent. I'll be honest I have no bad thing to
say about him. He's got it going on. You go with your bad self Justin.
Christine Evangelista = "ALL THAT JAZZ" = Allright so this is an ok
song I just felt she oversang it a little bit. Her dancing was
totally on key. The singing, aww man it was the wrong song for her.
She totally should have picked a more pop rock song. She has the
mainstream quality to her voice. She does however lose 10 points for
the comeback to JoJo, even though it strikes me odd that they are
supposed to be able to accept constructive criticism but find it so
easy to snap back instead of listening to what these PROFESSIONALS
have to say. The keyword here is professional they are where they are
because obviously they know what they are talking about.
Raymond Lee = "I'LL BE THERE" = His voice is kinda soft and soothing.
I've seen him in groups and he is a great dancer. I do feel like
heheld back on his dancing though. He should have picked a song that
highlighted his dancing a bit more. The ending note was right on. I
could tell he felt what he was singing. His lack of dancing however
threw it all away.
Top 6 Dance
Top 6 = "Living In America" = Ok so I see Christine kicking total ass
in the back getting down compared to her solo performance. Allyson's
solo was the bomb. This song I feel would have been a better choice
for Christine. she kicked ass on it as far as her dancing and as well
as her vocals. Justin's solo dance with that little wiggle thing was
awesome totally did it for me. Great job. What can I say, I mean the
kid has got it totally. Alexis seemed a little off on it though.
Overall Justin & Christine kicked ass on it.
My choices for the top 3 (It was real hard to choose this week other
than Justin)
JUSTIN JACOBY
Alexis Adler
Allyson Arena (I would say Raymond Lee but the lack of dancing pushes
me away from choosing him)
!!!Go Justin!!!
The Top 3 that made it
Allyson Arena
Justin Jacoby
Raymond Lee
Alexis Adler, Christine Evangelista, and Dion Watson were sent home.
Here goes the recap of Fame last night June 4th, 2003.
The second group of six semifinalists performed for a spot in the top
12 Finalists.
Host = Joey Fatone
Judges = Carnie Wilson, Johnny Wright, JoJo Wright
Main Judge and Teacher = Debbie Allen
Each of the six semifinalists sang one solo perofrmance then they all
did a group dance performance to see who can stand out in a group.
It started with a dance performance where the Top 24 sang and the Top
6 REintroduced themselves = The dancing tonight was a little more
sharp dance moves. They are all awesome performers. They have this
way of commanding the attention of the viewers. I saw Judy Ho in
there dancing and although she sucked last week she was totally on
this night. She was hitting all the dance moves perfectly. Plus, I
saw Danny Alvarez again. Muy caliente. If this is the semifinals they
are gonna kill in the finals.
SOLO PERFORMANCES
Brandon O'Neal = "I Wish" = Perfect song choice. Totally knows his
style. The dancing was great though it seemed a little too
choreagraphed. His dance moves were totally fluid. They flowed so
well. If he chooses this style to pursue he will definitely go far.
I'm just praying he doesn't go pop or it will be carreer suicide for
him.
Michelle Livigne = "Black Velvet" = She used her sexuality so well on
this song. Her voice is nothing special though. The hand movements
though sensual seemeed also a bit tacky. I felt as if I was watching
Marilyn Monroe with brown hair. WAY TOO THEATRICAL. She missed a few
notes. She could have chosen a better song or at least given it the
tension it deserves. I mean, right off I can't believe she had the
audacity to do an Alannah Myles song.
Todd Evans = "Overjoyed" = Charles from American Idol did it better.
But Todd felt it more. I felt he put more feeling into it. Excellent
easy listening voice. Beautidul soft voice. I felt every word of his
performance. It was kinda hard to dance much to this song, but he did
move good on it. And he has the absolute cutest smile I've seen in a
long time. I mean, come on he is obviously totally gay. BIG TIME. He
is too cute for words though. The way he said thank you was precious.
He could be the next teen heartthrob (especially for the gay
community.) Oh and he's a momma's boy. Oh my God I think I am in
love... AGAIN. Joalby & Todd's wedding. I need the cake, tuxes,
limos, & invitations. Oh no, who's gonna walk me down the aisle.
Serena Henry = "I'm Every Woman" = Excellent crowd participation.
Reminds me of a Beyonce type of voice. She belived every word she was
singing. Her dancing was a little too joint popping but ubnlike
Britney Spears, Serena looks good doping it. Her and Todd have the
most potential. She has the total package.
Ryan Chotto = "Dancing In The Street" = Ok, wow, we have a good
dancer. Total cutie, but that voice. DID NOT do it for me. Honey,
seriously this voice is not gonna take you far. Kick ass dancer
though. Don't get me wrong if I ever get famous and go on tour he
will be one of the first people I callso long as he kepps his mouth
shut. His vocals were totally pitchy and nasally. His dancing was
rocking though. Stick to dancing and take a few, a lot more singin
glessons.
Jamicen Tiangco = "You're Making Me High" = The flick of the hair was
on. As if her worrying about the skirt wasn't enough she goes and
picks THIS song to sing. I loved the song even though she did miss a
note at the end. Her dancing was totally on. I feel her strength lies
in her voice though. Very sensual without being sexual. Did good for
picking a Toni Braxton song.
TOP 6 FINALE DANCE PERFORMANCE
Group 2 Semifinalists = Dance To The Music = They were right on with
putting Todd and Serena in the center cos they obviously belong
there. Todd's little ride sally ride move was the bomb. Serena's high
note was the bomb, totally right on the money. Oh my god Micelle's
solo part sounded like someone was choking her and kicking her in the
butt at the same time. Brandon messed up by trying to go all deep on
his solo too. I'm sorry but whoever told him he sounded like Barry
White lied to him.
The people I wanted to win
SERENA HENRY
BRANDON O'NEAL
TODD EVANS
Top 3 were
SERENA HENRY
BRANDON O'NEAL
JAMICEN TIANGCO
Michelle Livigne, Todd Evans, and Ryan Chotto are gone.
Next week will be a double dose of FAME with Group 3 performing
Monday and Group 4 performing Wednesday. On NBC at 8:00pm
For anyone who missed this you can catch a special encore performance
this Friday at 8:00 pm only on NBC
Ok here goes my recap of group 1
(Keep in mind these are all MY OWN oppinions)
Ok so it basically started with a performance by the Top 24 where
they did an awesome dance routine and each introduced themselves
while singing and dancing.
Then they announced the first group of six who were going to perform.
Only 3 will make it to the Finals. Three will be sent home. Each will
do one song then they will all get together for a group dance.
Shannon Bex - Hot Stuff (Nice rocker voice. Kinda has a Pink kinda
thing going for her.And she is a way better dancer than a singer.
Perfect outfit for the era of music she was doing. The performances
already are putting AI to shame. If she could go a little higher she
could have the Christina Aguilera intensity. For being first she was
not nervous at all.
Danny Alvarez - Isn't She Lovely (Wow, this boy is hot like fire. Muy
caliente. Again perfect outfit. Awesome voice. He showed that he
isn't just another face, he can back up his looks. It did seem like
the wrong song for him though. Better voice then Shannon in my
oppinion. The salsa dance break was great. He had the whole young
better looking Ricky MArtin thing going and the boy can totally
dance.
Mackenzie Thomas - Don't Rain On My Parade (Ooh, only bad outfit
choice of the night. She looked like she was trying to be Bjork in
the stork outfit. She is like Fame's Vanessa Olivarez. Perfect for
musical theatre and plays but not mainstream music. No, not at all.
Voice was in no way good enough, but it did fit the song though.
Alex Boyd - Just Friends (Great fashion consultants on this show.
This boy has a beautiful voice. The beat boxing did kinda kill it
though. His voice has the most potential for a career in the pop
market. Good good voice. The nest of the night. Perfect for dance and
pop music. Dance moves fir the song perfectly.
Judy Ho - Gotta Be Real (Total 80s getup. Perfect. Hit the note
perfectly. Gave more of a sensual rendition of the song. Voice is ok,
but she did better during the auditions. You couldn't see the dancing
much. It seemed as if she was holding back.
(Carnie Wilson made a comment on Judy about not doing as well as she
coudl have. Debbie Allen came out and snapped at Carnie telling her
that she just wasn't seeing Judy's potential. Carnie tried to snap
back and Debbie put her in check telling her she already had her
chance to talk.)
Gary Adams - Rock With You (Awesoem style. Perfect choice for his
voice. There was kinda minimal dancing for the song. Another guy
perfect for a career in the music industry. I just need to see a
littl emore dancing to make sure. He made the song his own style
instead of doing a Justin Timberlak and just ripping off everything
EXACTLY from Michael Jackson.
Then they did another group dance performance.
First Group of Six - For The Love Of Money (Danny Alvarez and Shannon
Bex stood out in the dance part. Danny Alvarez proved he CAN dance.
Shanon is just the bomb when it comes to dancing. And Judy Ho, you
need to go.
I wanted the folloeing to make it.
Alex Boyd, Danny Alvarez, and a tie between Shannon Bex and Gary Adams
The top three were
Alex Boyd, Gary Adams, and Shanon Bex.
Judy, Danny, and Mackenzie were sent home.
I like this more. Debbie actually connects with them so she is like a
more nicer figure than Simon.
If it weren't for Serena, I don't think last night's episode
would've been interesting at all. She was clearly the saving grace. I
wasn't impress with any of the other people at all. Boring and stale.
What I noticed instantly about Serena is that not only is she a
fantastic performer, but she wasn't throwing off "diva 'tude" like we
saw with some singers on AI. She totally comes across genuine.
I find it very interesting that although the show has obviously been
pushing dancing talent over singing talent, Serena is more of a
singer than a dancer, though she definately can move.

No Joyce...I frequent another message board and they all picked up
on her shouting and also her horrible diction. :)
Simon would've been good...although sometimes he says the dumbest
things as well but he does bring some entertainment
You are right. They are going to be compared against AI. Someone
on that other message board made a good point about not wanting a
triple threat if they are gonna suck in all but one area. I think
not many people are blessed with the ability to sing and dance
well.
It's very hard not to compare the two. I don't know if I can. :) I
heard someone sang Overjoyed and I just loved Charles singing
that.
Hello everyone!
What did you think of tonight's show? I think I was more psyched
after last week. Definately my favorite part of both shows has been
the opening number and the final performance with the six
performers. Dance is my passion so I enjoy seeing all the dance the
group does.
A few thoughts on tonights "dancers who can sing" and "singers who
can dance":
Brandon - What a smooth fellow with suave dancing. Look out Michael
J...this man is moonwalk material.
Michelle - I was actually very surprised by her performance. Like
the judges, I was expecting for a "girl next door" show and that just
wasn't it at all.
Todd - He had super facials and a genuine smile. He came across as a
very innerly beautiful person with a sweet soul and a heart of gold.
(On a side note, his picture on the official site
www.nbc.com/fame/pictures looks nothing like how he looks tonight.)
Serena - Wow!!!! What a burst of energy and genuine talent. She is
a crowd pleaser with a beautiful voice and a nice range of vocals. I
was a little distracted by all the high-low-high-mid-low-high notes
within the same word, but she got her point across that her voice is
multi-dimensional.
Ryan - He just looks so sweet and his dancing is super! His voice
sounds very young...but in a few years, who knows. I think he would
make a good backup dancer for a young teenage pop group.
Jamisen - When she first started talking, the first thing I thought
was "sweet and soft voice." Then, when she started singing, I didn't
really know what to think. I wasn't completey drawn to her voice,
but she has an essence on stage that just made me want to watch her.
Before I knew it, I was smiling and hoping she would advance. She's
sassy, flirtacious, and an all around sweetheart.
I can't wait to see what happens next week! Take care and keep on
dancing!
Krazikiwi
>She used too much chest voice and

Great point! I thought I was the only one picking up on her
yelling/shouting. It was painful to listen to. It's so funny you said
that about Simon cuz my and my friends said the exact same thing
after her performance. I think he would've really let her have it.
On a side note, I actually feel kind of bad for the "Fame"
contestants when it comes to vocals. Tamyra, Clay, Kim L, Kelly, &
Ruben are all hard acts to follow and we all know that they're (Fame
contestants) going to be being compared to them all summer long. :-(
I'm going to try and NOT compare the two shows or their contestants,
but I know many will cuz it's only human nature and alotof us are
still recovering from the DEBACLE AI2 turned out to be.

Hello first post please be kind as possible...:) Even tho' I'm not
Thanks to the fame forever site I was able to listen to the
performances. Based on that I agree with Joyce. Shannon
talked/shouted/yelled her song. She used too much chest voice and
her diction sucked. Also, I believe that when you use too much
chest voice you develop nodules. However, I bet she was one hell of
a performer. Would I want to see her dance as part of the Portland
Trailblazers Dancers? yes...do I want her to pursue a career in
singing? NO...HELL NO! The world doesn't need any more people who
perform but couldn't get the right note if it hit them over the head
or sings worse than half the population.
Where is Simon Cowell when you need him? Not that he's perfect, hey
he let Carmen in.
Or she could prove me wrong in the finals and actually prove that
she can sing as opposed to talk/yell/shout oh actually mumble-shout
because she can't enunciate.
Sorry I don't hate the poor girl. I just think she needs some
serious vocal lessons and if her delivery can't be improved, I hope
she leaves the singing to the true reality TV singers like Clay,
Kimberley Locke, Tamyra etc.

I loved the singing and dancing aspect overall, but Shannon sang off-
key throughout most of her song. Mackenzie was way better and should
have advanced over her.

Just thought I reply and give my thoughts on your thoughts. lol
>Shannon Bex (first to perform) - I think she looks and acts like Ms. Britney Spears when she first hit the biz. As soon as they showed her at tryout (wearing the white cabbie hat) I knew she was going to be one of the finalists. Great dancer, spectacular voice, and charming smile.
I TOTALLY agree. My sister and I both thought she looked like Britney but I have to say, at least she doesn't sound like her. She may look like Britney at times but I think it's great that she is not trying to act and sound like her. She's being herself.
>Danny Alvarez - What a little hottie...I'm bummed he was cut and we won't get to see more of him.
I was bummed too! I thought he had a great voice.
>Mackenzie Thomas - I think she looks alot like Solei Moon Frye (Punky Brewster) and would be AWESOME on Broadway.
I agree with you again! She would be PERFECT on Broadway! She has a very powerful voice.
>Alex Boyd - Beautiful voice.
His voice is great and I know he said that he is a singer not a dancer ... but I was surprised to see Danny cut when he could both sing and dance. I noticed several times where Alex was lacking in the dancing ... not that I thought he should be cut because of it though.
>Judy Ho - In audition and practice she really seemed like she was going to be a great performer, but she just didn't portray that on stage. I'm sorry we didn't get to see more of a performance from her.
I thought she did pretty good but she apparently let her nerves get to her a bit on her solo performance.
>Gary Adams - Definately a crowd pleaser...very suave and handsome too. Smooth...very smooth.
Garry reminded me so much of Taye Diggs ... what a beautiful smile. :) He's got a great performance presence and a great voice.
I must say, I think I'm a bit partial to the first 6 performers already and the competitions just begun. :)
Hello fellow FAME fans. I just joined the group and thought I would
drop a quick line...
As with everyone else here I LOVED the opening number "I Came to
Work." I've had the song stuck in my head ALL week! And the dance
number at the end was super great.
I think all the "dancers who can sing" and "singers who can dance"
are doing a SUPER job. What a rush to perform on stage AND on
national television. I give them all major props for being so brave
and for sharing their talent with the rest of us.
Additionally, they are SO blessed to meet the beautiful and talented
Ms. Debbie Allen. What a SUPERSTAR she is and how down to earth she
comes across on the show. She seems like such an inspirational,
uplifting, motivational person.
Here's a quick rundown on some of my thoughts of the first performers:
Shannon Bex (first to perform) - I think she looks and acts like Ms.
Britney Spears when she first hit the biz. As soon as they showed
her at tryout (wearing the white cabbie hat) I knew she was going to
be one of the finalists. Great dancer, spectacular voice, and
charming smile.
Danny Alvarez - What a little hottie...I'm bummed he was cut and we
won't get to see more of him.
Mackenzie Thomas - I think she looks alot like Solei Moon Frye (Punky
Brewster) and would be AWESOME on Broadway.
Alex Boyd - Beautiful voice.
Judy Ho - In audition and practice she really seemed like she was
going to be a great performer, but she just didn't portray that on
stage. I'm sorry we didn't get to see more of a performance from her.
Gary Adams - Definately a crowd pleaser...very suave and handsome
too. Smooth...very smooth.
Sorry to take up so much time, I've just really wanted to share my
thoughts with someone (anyone) since Wednesday's show. Thanks for
listening and I look forward to many more messages in this SUPER
group about this season's HOT new reality series.
Keep on dancing!

What did everyone here think of michelle? She did not perform last
night but she was in the front row of the dance and she had brown
hair and brown eyes? I personally thought she stood out
alot....Opinions?
Hello,
Hopefully this list will grow as the new Fame reality show gains
popularity. I thought tonight's episode was fabulous. It completely
surpassed all expectations I had of it. The talent is amazing, the
hosts and judges are extremely likable, and I can't find one thing to
complain about. American Idol who?
