I just heard that great end promo for ABC's 1974-75 one season cult tv
show called "Kolchak The Night Stalker" that you all have added in the
1975 files section of this site last spring and it featured a tralier
for the episode "MR RING" during the end of the episode called "Chopper"
and during the end credits it feautred a voiceovrer promo for other
upcoming ABC shows too.
But that was only in the WMA file, if you all have a chance to re-edit
that same promo on MP3? let me know asap..
Thanks
Rick

On June 12, 2002, the NBA died. That was the night of Game 4 of the
2002 NBA Finals, when the Los Angeles Lakers finished off the
overmatched New Jersey Nets. That was also the last night that NBC
Sports aired an NBA game.
Since taking over the NBA in 2002, ABC has taken remarkable creative
license with telecasts. The games are secondary to strange camera
angles; floorcam, FreeFlight and sideways shots of the backs of
players jerseys have been favorites of ABC's game producers.
Since ABC took over the NBA, the network has had three lead play-by-
play voices (Brad Nessler, Al Michaels and Mike Breen). To put that
in perspective, NBC only had two lead voices for the twelve-year
duration of its coverage (Bob Costas and Marv Albert).
There have been four different sets of analysts (Tom Tolbert and
Bill Walton, Doc Rivers, Hubie Brown, and Mark Jackson). There have
been six different studio teams ('03: Mike Tirico, Tolbert and
Walton; 04: Tirico, Tolbert and Byron Scott; '05: Tirico, Walton and
Steve Jones; '06: Tirico and Scottie Pippen; '06: Dan Patrick,
Pippen, Jackson and Michael Wilbon; '07: Patrick, Jackson and
Wilbon).
There have been five different graphics packages (one for each
season), three different theme songs and eight different music
groups (Robert Randolph and the Family Band, LL Cool J, Justin
Timberlake, The Black Eyed Peas, Destiny's Child, Rob Thomas, Tom
Petty and The Pussycat Dolls).
Indecision, constant change, appealing almost exclusively to the
casual fan, camera shots that make no sense. Add to that the fact
that, five years in, games that aired on NBC look as if they have
better quality than those on ABC (thanks to brighter colors and a
camera that was closer to the action) and it becomes obvious that
ABC has done its fair share to diminish the NBA in stature.
Hey All, i would like to wish you all and the whole yahoogroup members a
very merry christmas and a safe and healthy happy 2007 as well, and i
hope to see some more new sound files and promos from this site next
year as well, so merry christmas and a happy new year everyone!
Thanks
Rick

Rick
Welcome to the group Rick. I noticed you have an entire new name and e maii
address. I'm sure I don't have any promos for Baretta- moderator.
Very nice short promo for that short lived Karen Valentine's ABC tv
sitcom, Guy Thanks! and did the female announcer said "Karen" starting
tonight or Saturday Night at 8:30 on ABC Hawaii?!
Rick I think
she's saying Saturday, but I thought the same thing when making this file.
Checked out a TV Guide listing for Fri. 3-21-1975. Out in Hawaii it aired Fri.
at 8:30 following Hot L Baltimore followed by Baretta. The Manhunter and Archer
were on the other two channels. In the states it aired Jan.- June, 1975
Thursday's at 8:30. Don't remember seeing Karen- Guy

Hi: There are some "Galactica 1980" (the short-lived low budget
sequel to "Battlestar Galactica") items in the Files of our group.
However, if you haven't already, you may need to join the Yahoo
closingcredits group. There is an audio of a 1979 "Battlestar
Galactica" closing credits in their Files. You will find closing
credits from other networks in their Files as well.

6-16-79: Battlestar Galactica (original version), 'The Young Lords'
end credits with ABC announcer, mentions ABC News special on the
Carter-Brezhnev Salt 2 Summit, otherwise "stay tuned for The Love Boat
followed by Fantasy Island, here on ABC."

Hi: It might take some time to locate, but I should have an old tape
somewhere with a mid-80's Lifetime cable showing of a Marcus Welby
episode. I'm quite sure it has a full open (which would go to one of
the opening credits groups), but I'd have to check to see if it has a
closing credits.
Again, while requests are always fine for folks to send in, please
keep in mind we are all limited to what we have in our collections.
And the amount of time it takes to go through old tapes and find what
we have, then digitizing, posting, etc. So give us some time on these
things. :-) If we have it, you'll get it when you get it.
I would like to see some more promos to be added to this site such as
the ending theme to "Marcus Welby, M.D." with promos and much more asap.
thanks a bunch
Rick I've
seen a few promos for Marcos Welby, M.D. such as on the new 1972 pages at
tvparty.com (see ABCPROMOS for link in a message). I don't think I ever
watched it so I would not have the theme music. Have an audio recording of a
promo from 1971-72 season on one of these groups. No more ASAP's please. I'm
not home 9.5 hours per day, 5 days per week. Hope you understand, Guy.
Any chance you have the video promo of that file?
