and I thought I'd introduce myself.

Hi! My name's Birgit and I'm from Germany (Bavaria, about an hour
away from Munich due north, though I might soon be living here). The
first time, I came across the New Avengers must haven been back in
1998 when they aired it on TM3 here in Germany. What made me stop and
look when I was zapping through the channels (seven channels, that's
all we got, back home, before we got that satellite dish late last
year) was Purdey: There I was, sitting in front of my TV, going "zap-
zap-zap" and then, all of a sudden "whoa - now, who's that girl and
why does she look like Tasha Yar?"

I was an avid Trek-fan at that time. Still like it. My favourite
series was TNG and my favourite character Tasha. Admit it - Purdey
and Tasha do look alike, to a certain extent. Well, Purdeys looks got
me to watch and after that first episode, I kept watching till I'd
seen them all. I started looking on the net for New Avengers stuff,
also got into the original Avengers, bought some stuff, among other
things the six New Avengers novels. And then, that kinda was it.

Till last year in March. When cleaning up my room, I found those
tapes. One of those very nice guys from the Avengers-newsgroup I'd
been on had sent me three tapes with three New Avengers episodes on
each. My nine favourites. So I'm sitting there again, tapes in hand,
and I go "hm, was fun watching them". And decided to watch them
again. Well, can you say hook, line and sinker? *lol*

It's very unusual that a series captures me again like that, once
I've "dismissed" it. Guess I needed a change from Fantasy and "Lord
of the Rings". ;) Anyways - that's me. :D
