Melinda is a CLASS Act and I don't think she will allow anyone to aide
in lowing the standards she has set for herself. She was in her
element last night, just an awesome singer and she looked so
comfortable and confident. I think that we can expect this level of
professionalism and style from her in upcoming months. I can't wait
to hear what her first single...will be it be R&B/Jazz or Gospel.
Whatever it is I am sure to one of the many who will make a purchase.

I think this type of music suits her the best.  Don't get me wrong, I love it that she's into the inspirational/gospel type of music, but for right now in her career, that would be a bad move. She looked so comfortable last night singing with Bebe and Cece Winans, but that's not the type of music at this point that she should venture into. She can do inspirational/gospel when she 2 albums under her belt.

The only reason that Melinda is out is because ALL THOSE SANJYA IDIOTS VOTED FOR BLAKE, still driven by the www.votefortheworst.com website started by Howard Stern,
You can believe that the record producers were lined up backstage to sing her befor she could leave the building! Just look fo her CD's and buy them that will prove who the real talent from this season was, Jordin is very good also and deserved second place to Melinda but Blake should have been gone!

Just My 2 Cents

Groucho Marx likened Judy Garland's loss of the OSCAR in 1955
for "A Star is Born" to "The Biggest Robbery since Brinks"! So it was
when Miss D. was robbed of a place in the finals she had worked so
hard for..Pretty damned defeating for all of us who had watched her
take her natural born GIFT of a voice to greater heights week after
week on IDOL..
I give Simon credit; as obnoxious as the lad can be, he is solidly
behind REAL talent; he was clearly let down by that shock
announcement, as he covered his mouth in disbelief.. Though Jordin
and Blake have wide appeal for the teeny-bopper crowd, I have not
been able to recall a great singer of Melinda's calibre EVER
appearing in 6 seasons of the show..She is almost 30, yet the gal is
HARDLY over the hill..She is a Happy Medium actually, with song
capability to please both the kids AND all of us over 45..I sincerely
BELIEVE that last night was solely dominated by mounds of teenagers
making megaloads of calls, whereas unfortunately a lot of "our Group"
may have gone to bed early cause HEY!WE have to get up at 6AM!
If any of you are old enough to remember I'M a WOMAN as originally
sung by the late Peggy Lee, Melinda's version was JUST THE TICKET to
bring that song into the 21st Century and was delivered with a POW!
It is what breathes new life into these CLASSIC numbers (and by that
I mean those that stand the test of time)..We are badly in need of
just such a songstress; and not since Peggy, Ella Fitzgerlad and the
late GREAT Judy Garland has American music been blessed with such a
set of pipes..
Can't wait for the first CD..Most definitely it will be the first
of MANY, and dont bet the record producers arent literally smelling
MONEY with this extraordinary girl..
Melinda has JUST BEGUN...I cant wait to see how well the "Glass
Slipper" fits a very winning "CINDERELLA" .!

I was so sure Melinda would win. I was sure Blake was going home when
much to my dismay- he wasn't! I am truly disappointed in voting
America. Melinda is truly what American Idol is all about.
Individuality. Finding someone who is a role model, someone who is an
individual, someone who can perform the task at hand- sing. And she can
sing! Not one song was ordinary. She tailored each song to style. I
certainly hope this wasn't a spiteful attempt from the Sanjaya fan club-
America under the age of 18. Shame on those who voted against her!
This is quite the example of how much America is okay with conformity!

ugh, it's jst horrible. and I dunno if I really should be tellin' ya'll this, cuz I dunno how much I'm supposed to say, but I was a contestant o canadian idol in the top 100 round, and it's true about the producers...although the public's voting does have some say, if the producers don't like who the public are choosing, or if they don't like a contestnat o the show for whatever reason, they have the final say about any aspect of it. alhtough, I don't understand ow they couldn't like Melinda. that woman had it all. I honestly don't think it was the producers that got her off. I don't think it was the public either. maybe Howard's show and votefortheworst are playing a bigger part than we thought. Lord knows they're the reason Sanjaya was in for so long.

May 18, 2007. MediaTakeOut.com has learned that people at The Howard
Stern Radio Show are claiming that voting for American Idolis rigged.
They claim that producers, and not audience voters, are the once who
determine Idol's winners and losers. Here's their report:

Does Howard 100 News owe an apology… to American Idol contestant
Melinda Doolittle? A source inside the show claims that American Idol
was reportedly in a panic yesterday to put the brakes on a Howard 100
News investigation into voting on the FOX talent show.

This source alleges the show decided to switch horses at the last
minute, that contestant Blake Lewis was allegedly scheduled to be
told to go home last night, until Idol producers changed their minds.
Our source claiming Simon Cowell allegedly said quote "F--- Howard
Stern," and added that the Idol result last night would be the
opposite of what Howard 100 News reported. All of which might explain
the strange subdued mood on American Idol last night. So if the last
minute switch is true, Howard 100 News must apologize to the talented
Melinda Doolittle.

But now, Howard 100 News reports that another source has revealed a
bombshell claim about American Idol; that in 6 seasons only two
American Idol's have been picked by the viewing public, according to
our source. The source claims that this season, producers of the show
had allegedly decided to go straight, to let viewer votes decide the
winner, but panicked when Howard Stern and VotefortheWorst.com backed
Sanjaya. The show then reverted back to picking the winner, according
to our source. The source claims Sanjaya was running away with the
competition, until producers decided to take back control and throw
him off the show in spite of Sanjaya's alleged vote victories.

Bottom line here; three sources telling Howard 100 News Jordin Sparks
has long been scheduled to be the winner of American Idol. Now will
the producers switch that? There's one way to clear all this up…
release the vote results and prove that American Idol is run
according to how the viewers vote.

By the way, FOX Television has still not called us back after running
off the phone two days ago.

I was and still am so disappointed that Melinda Doolittle was voted
off. I thought from day one that she would make it. She was so
consistent- I think America (those who voted against her) are on
crack! She has an unbelievable ability to tailor every song that
leaves her lips right to her very own style. I truly feel the judges
idea of an American Idol is what Melinda Doolittle portrayed.
Individuality. This just proves how much voting America wants
conformity!

With the whole Sanjaya farce and now the ousting of the most talented
singer they had, American Idol's credibility has been blown all to
hell. Blake and Jordin can't hold a candle to Melinda. She is hands
down the strongest, most talented singer of the three. That woman's
voice gave me chills! Yet, we all know (now), don't we, that it isn't
about singing, it's about popularity. If that's what America really
cares about, well then I guess they'll soon have their "IDOL." As for
me, I won't be watching. I'll be waiting and watching for Melinda
Doolittle's first CD instead.

This is quite the example of how much America is okay with conformity!

yeah, it's obvious the producers wanted Jordan to win, but the judges gave Melinda such consistant feedback. I totally thought she had it in the bag. they loved her and I thought america did too, but obviously they chose Jordan cuz she's young.

Well, to tell you the truth, Melinda would've never won it in the first place. She would've only came in 2nd or 3rd. But the uproar is about the fact that she deserved and earned her way into the finale and was denied it. Everyone knows that Jordin will win this at this point. No matter who she was going against. It's her prize and that's who the producers wanted since the top 10.

wow. thi is sad, but I kinda had an idea it might be rigged. there always seems to be something not right in how the voting utrns out. we all know america idn't really like Sanjaya that much, and that Howard and vote for the worst played the entire part of whyhe stayed in the ocmpetition as long as he did. sad, just sad that it cost Meli nda the prize she should've won, hands down.

Now, at the moment, this is all a rumor, but I had heard awhile back
that many of the winners were 'rigged'. The only ones that probably
won it fair and square were Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Hicks.
