We watch "Good Eats" quite a bit, and I've often thought Alton must have watched
MacGyver a lot. He's made a smoker (I think) out of a clay flower pot, and did
something with a cardboard box that I don't quite recall; both of those seemed
MacGyver-esque. Plus I think I remember seeing a SAK now and then.

Everyone,
A MacGyver mention in the first paragraph! What a treat! Of course, I'm not
sure if Alton Brown's recipes would include Mac's fireside dinner main
course from the first season, or Mac's Blackened Redfish with a generous
dosing of Tabasco Sauce.

This years annual MacGyver Cyber-meet has started. So pop along to our chat room
and have a chat with other MacGyver fans from all over the world. :)
http://cybermeet.macgyveronline.com/chat.html
See you there.
Rocky
With only a couple of days to go, we're well and truly into the countdown to our
big annual online chat. The MacGyver Cyber-meet is the once a year event where
ALL MacGyver fans can gather online in the same place at the same time in
celebration of the original air-date of the pilot episode - September 29th.
The online event is run through MacGyver Online's chat room which you can access
from our "Cybermeet page" at http://cybermeet.macgyveronline.com where you can
also find out more information about the event as well as other ways you can
connect to our online chat on the day.
If you haven't already done so, we strongly advise people to pay a quick visit
to the page to make sure the chat page loads and works on your computer. We've
found in the past that some people have had problems with security settings on
their computer stopping the page from working correctly; These are simple things
to fix, but can take a little bit of time to work through the options which can
cause these issues, so we do advise everyone to make a quick visit to the page
and log into the chat room just to make sure it's working for them. And of
coarse if there is a problem, contact us via the link at the bottom of the page.
We hope you're all able to come along and help make this a great fun event for
MacGyver fans the world over.
See you there.

That is great!!! Very good! I’m very surprised that Paramount never came out with a MacGyver video game. MacGyver action figures, yes, but no video game? I wonder if this is because the show ended before anyone at Paramount even considered putting a video game together, or if it was because they didn’t want to do it. RDA was pretty much through with this character, I think, and, if asked to lend both his voice and his likeness to the game, would have said “no,” after filming two MacGyver movies, and moving on to other projects.

Everyone,
I just caught USA Network's "Royal Pains" promo, and the female character
turns to the guy, and says "Who are you, MacGyver?" I think the show's
premiering this week. Should be interesting.

“It would have to be in the summer because we are back in production in the fall,” Michaels told THR when asked about the possible production timing. “We’re still in discussions” he added.

According to reports coming from The Hollywood Reporter, Lorne Michaels has indicated that Saturday Night Live might be toying with the idea of making a MacGruber movie.

Knowing Richard Dean Andersons love of skewed silliness and how he’s already enjoyed being part of the MacGruber skits on SNL, one has to wonder if he would be more inclined to want to be involved in the MacGruber movie over the real MacGyver movie and also how this might affect the efforts of Raffaella Productions to make the MacGyver movie.
I've added a bunch of new MacGyver articles to our media center, under the
articles section.
They range from newspaper items through to magazine and TV guide articles which
where run/written while MacGyver was on air.

MacGyver inspires bands name. Cape Town's up-and-coming indie rock band may have a familiar feel for fans of the MacGyver show. Not only is the band called MacGyver Knife, but their title has a famous MacGyver Swiss Army Knife forming the letter K in their name..
Houseboat offered for MacGyver movie.
by Rockatteer
The houseboat as it is today.
The owners of the houseboat originally used to film the MacGyver TV show say they have contacted Raffaella Productions, the company producing the new MacGyver movie, with an offer to use their houseboat once again as MacGyver’s home in the upcoming movie.
“We read about it in the paper and phoned California right away.” They said of hearing the news of the upcoming movie.
The plan to make the MacGyver movie was announced earlier this week by Raffaella Productions in conjunction with New Line Cinema. There’s currently no script or writers associated with the movie, so whether they will need the houseboat or not is unknown at this time, but the offer will be there if they do.
The houseboat was used as MacGyver’s home during the 4 years (season 3-6) the show was filmed in Vancouver Canada, and is still one of the more associated icons of the show. The boat was moored in the Bute Marina at Coal Harbour and subsequently sold and moved as redevelopment of the waterfront area began and production of the show moved back to Los Angeles. Since those days the house has undergone extensive internal renovations and an new paint job externally.
