I hate it when someone says, "See the stuff at..." and doesn't include the
address. Which is, I realize, what I've just done.
My upper deck drawings are here:
http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=221966
The lower deck drawings are here:
http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=265757

Gary Kerr is the man responsible for the Moebius Jupiter 2. He started a thread
on how it came to be here:
http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=255048
tho the thread quickly got out of hand and lost focus, almost all of the good
stuff is at the very beginning. Gary has done just a brilliant job.

I made these drawing about 20 years ago partly as plans for a 1/24 J2 that I was
building. They were based on copies of Fox blueprints of the floor plans and
profiles and a few other details that I had. I didn't quite finish them back
then. With the advent of computers and the net and DVDs I was able to fill in
some of the missing details like the Robot's magnetic lock (from the great files
here) and the location of the engine room door buttons. The drawings aren't
finished yet. You here are some serious Jupiter 2 experts and I hope you'll be
able to spot errors or offer corrections or suggest missing details. Maybe once
they are "finished" I'll ship them off to Uncle Odie or somewhere for a more
permanent home.
I won't leave my drawings up here too long as I know there's limited file space
and I've temporarily got the whole set up elsewhere. Maybe a week or so. Thanks
in advance for looking and for any help.
Amazing, amazing work you all are doing. You're files/photos just blow me away.

Someone had to be the pioneer and build the first one. I'm amazed how portable you've made yours.
It gets seen by a lot of people.

In a file called "upper deck drawings", I posted the first few of 60 or 70 drawings I've made of the Jupiter 2s upper and lower deck. The rest of these are posted over on the Hobbytalk SF Modeling forum, by Starseeker or Starseeker 2. I'd like to have posted them all here but there is no room.
An explanation of how I drew these is there.
I would LOVE anyone to let me know about corrections, errors, etc.
Also, at Hobbytalk, there is an entire forum devoted to Moebius models, sponsored and (tho rather roughly) moderated by Moebius. Lots of great stuff on the upcoming Jupiter 2. You people are a great resource. I'd love to see what you'd have to add to some of the discussions.

Beautiful drawings! I didn't get much time with them but I plan on taking a much better look tonight.  looking forward to the Moebius model this December! as is everyone. Were these made to assist with the model pattern?

Eventually I have that in mind, however since it's such a small space, they'd have to be very tight shots.
I built it more as a place to relax in, or when family comes to visit, an extra bedroom.

Thanks, it's under a 100 year old house in Nebraska, however it's just a single
basement room inspired by the Jupiter 2.
The only full size part is the flight console, the rest is just a partial
replica. When it's done, I thought it'd be a great place to display my robot
when I finish him, to make him feel at home. Of course, since he'll be a 1st
seaon robot, he might go haywire after following Smiths programming and smash
the room up too.

It is the landing gear control panel. It was added for the second season,
probably because they planned to have more leg down landings. The control can
also control individual landing legs independently too for non level ground.

Sorry if this is just BARELY on topic...OK maybe not at all...but I've got a
weird little TV on eBay right now and I wanted to tell some of you LIS techies
about it. If you do an eBay search on the phrase "Wild TV Lost in Space" it
should turn right up. I would just post a link, but I've noticed that for many
of you, the link seldom comes out right.

You really gotta take a look at this little guy, it breaks my heart to sell it!
It's just so cool-looking! Definitely would have been right at home on the set
of Star Wars, Star Trek, Silent Running, 2001. And of course, LIS. Picked it up
a few days ago. I've seen other weird looking TVs go for some big bucks, so
we'll see if I hit gold!

I guess the TV I'm selling seems on-topic because the damn thing just LOOKS like
a prop! Would be perfect for a film set in the late 60s or early-to-mid 70s. I'm
not trying to be a hard-nosed sales guy; I'm mentioning it mainly because I want
you all to get a look at the thing. Especially Smilin' Stan Brewer, the would-be
TV King!! The Victorian Cad!! The Steam-Driven Centurion!

OK...watch out...here comes the fast-talking salesman...if you do the Buy it Now
feature, and mention this LIS list, I'll ship for free and throw in a DVD of LIS
rarities that I compiled over the years. End of sales pitch.

I based it on a blueprint drawn by Gary Kerr for the Moebius Jupiter 2.
Even though little details like that wouldn't show up on the model, he
drew them up as if it was for a full scale Jupiter 2 and then reduced
them. He based his tripod blueprint on a screen grab. Also in the
Jupiter 2 Operators Manual, it shows the tripod control with the painted
area around the pushbuttons and lamps. Even though it's a fan based
book, I believe they must have used original blueprints to make their
drawings, because some of their drawings are exactly like some original
blueprints I have, including some areas never seen on screen..

Bill,

Regarding your Tripod Control in the pic below:

For the lower three round lamps, you painted a colored-keyed area on the panel
base extending around each lamp to and around the lower corresponding push
button. What was this based on? Study of screen shots? Just curious.

That's the power cord the John wrestled with after Smith caused it to start
sparking. Actually it's a temporary fix until I get the permanent wiring done. I
tend to jump ahead and quickly hook things up to see how it'd look lit up. The
B205 isn't wired up yet either. I'll probably spend the rest of the winter
wiring up panels. I can keep more motivated to work on it though if I can
actually see some things finished up.

For nearly 10 years I have been collecting and searching the globe on Irwin Allen collectibles.  Each week, month, and year, we continue to update our website at www.uncleodiescollectibles.com with many items of interest to wet anyr taste buds.  I continue to find not just rare, unquie,  fan made related items, but items none of us have seen before, not even Gene Rodenberry!?

Recently I have been in contact with several sellers and collectors from Argentina.  Just last weekend I won a rare Guy Williams spinner top!  Very cool item, and the seller tells me there is even more Lost in Space spinner tops to be pulled from the vault!  I will have those neat items up on the site shortly.  Tray puzzles are a hot ticket item, and again just last week I won and posted many of these rare puzzles up on the site.  Just tonight I received an e-mail and photos of even yet more rare fines.  Unpublished puzzles on Lost in Space, Time Tunnel, and even a collage puzzle on the man himself, Irwin Allen.  A nice tribute on Mr. Allen's many achievements over the years.  This is really a cool piece, and will be up on the site making it's first debut ever this weekend.

Also I received an e-mail and info on the new David Hedison novel.  Only 50 copies will be available and info will be listed under, "That Does Not Compute" this week.  Thanks to the publisher, "Paul Mohamed" for
allowing us to promote it first, and getting the word out on this long awaited book!

Artwork is plentyful this past week, and you the fans continue to submit sub great stuff.  All well worth posting, and thanks to all of you for sending them in.  Keep those e-mails coming, I love hearing from all of
you with your interest and feedback.  With work, hitting the gym 5 days a week, keeping up with weekly computer work, my 24-7 isn't enough.  I will continue to dedicate any and all free time to the website, answering any and all e-mails, and bring the very best to all of you here on the internet.

The very best this holiday season, and may 2010 be better than 2009!
