I thought her medical bills were the reason for taking the money.

Lori grew up in either Wakefield or Woburn MA (on the Burlington

her from time to time (she was datng one of my good friends in HS).
During college, whenever I came back to Boston, I would see her at
Jillians...(she waitressed there for a while.)
I did hear that she was sick (the article you have all pointed out on

Lori was talking about her illness on the Live Feed today. She says it's extremely rare, and her father has it, also. Her medical bills put her in terrible debt.....one of the reasons she took the money the first night.

Are there any pictures with the article? Are we sure it's the same Lori?
Me too Matt, I do not know what to think about it. I guess if it is
true it will come out at some point.

Do you know how long she has been in LA? 4 months. I presume she will be back
here in Massachusetts soon after the show. If not.. well then what can you do.
What does you last line mean? "we are all boston est of Sprigfield" Sorry my
friend.. I dont understand what you are saying. Oh wait.. the light just came
on... are you saying anybody east of Springfield is considered a resident of
Boston? Most people unless from Massachusetts are not going to know what you are
talking about. I live in Saugus, so what else can I say? Am I a saugustonian? or
a bostonian? Lori is from Burlington, so she must be a Burlingtonian? Or a
Wakefieldtonian... well I guess know she is an LAtonian? Not to be confused with
Latino, although she could pass for one... I think...
We do have somebody in this group that knows Lori personally, maybe he can
answer our questions as to Lori's health?
Yes Leeroy we will love her the same, but it is OK if we want to know about her
no? Well.. if not... please pardon me for I wouldnt want to upset the. I made a
pact not to argue amongst these groups anymore... last group I was in cost me
lots of money in therapy bills.. I am not sure I am fully recoverd... lol.. ok I
am being a PIA. Have a nice weekend all!

Stop the speculation! Does Lori look sick? No. Was she sick and
does she have an illness? Yes, read the story on the internet, it is
all true. Next, she lives in LA guys, she is originally from Mass.
Who cares where, we are all boston est of Sprigfield, everyone knows
that. And we all have to pull for her to win!!!!!!
I am doing okay, I am still looking for work though. Actually I do miss
Texas a bit. I miss my roommates cats. :p I hope you have a nice
relaxing weekend. :)

I saw the same things about Lori, I wondered if they were true. There
has been no mention of it yet though. That would be a darn good reason
to take the money if she has medical bills or expenses from that.

Lori's Story
By Lori Valenti
October 2002
My name is Lori Valenti. I have had an extremely difficult last six
months. I just graduated from Umass last Dec. 2001, and got a job
that I really loved. After working for the company for about 3 months
my boyfriend and I got an apartment together. The very first night I
stayed at the apartment I had an awful asthma attack. Over the next 2
months I would go back and forth to allergists, pulmonary
specialists, and many other doctors. I was developing skin rashes and
becoming very fatigued at the apartment, along with the allergies and
asthma. I came down with a bad respirtory infection and finally had
to get a lawyer to get my boyfriend and I out of the lease. We had to
be out Aug. 1st, this was fine by us.
At this point in time, I thought the hard part was over. On July 11th
(and I will never forget that date) I was standing at work and I got
a very strange sensation in my head. It was not painful, but is was
scary and it lasted for about 10 seconds. Immediately following the
sensation I became dizzy and started to vomit. I went into the
bathroom and started to splash water on my face, but I was still
dizzy and nauseous. I came back into the office and realized my
vision was blurred. I asked my boss if she would follow me to the
doctors.
When I went into see the doctor I told him all my symptoms. He said I
was depressed and gave me a prescription for Zoloft. Figures! That
was a Friday. I went home that night and slept around the clock until
Sat. night, when I woke up for about 1 hour and then went back to
bed. Sunday morning I went to the ER. They did a spinal tap on me and
told me that I had viral meningitis. Later I found out this was not
the case. After several weeks of not getting better I went back to
the ER. They did blood work and took a urine sample and told me I was
fine.
About 1 month into this, I woke up in the morning and had an
extremely rapid heart rate. I went to the ER and the EKG said 168.
That was sitting down. They dismissed it as the lovely "anxiety" and
sent me home against my will. The next morning I woke up and my heart
was racing again. When I stood up I fainted (the first of about 8
fainting episodes), and I went back to the ER. They did blood work
and took my urine again and said I was fine. The doctor specifically
told me that there was nothing more that they could do for me there,
and that I shouldn't come back. That was a nice feeling when I was so
scared about my health…
Finally, the following day I was taken to the Mass General and
admitted there. I met a wonderful doctor, who is working with me and
researching as much as he can about my problem. I was diagnosed there
with POTS. My doctors keep telling me that I will get better. The
neurologists and cardiologists can't seem to find anything wrong.
They just know that my heart beats too fast (and also too slow at
night time.)
It has been 3 months that I have been really sick. I am mostly
bedridden except for the days that I go to the doctor's office. I
wake up every morning feeling like you would with the flu. My arms
are completely numb. My heart starts to race. Then I take my meds,
inderol and midodrine, and I force my way to the couch. I have no
strength at all. Before this all happened I was running about 5 miles
a day. I am nauseous all day, and for the first 5 weeks was vomitting
a lot. I am so dizzy, for the whole day, and I have some
concentration problems and vision blurring. I mostly sleep the whole
day because of the fatigue and weakness. And through all this every
test that I have taken has come back negative, except for the table
tilt.
I have a good support system and I thank God for my family and my
boyfriend who have been so supportive. They have also steered me away
from doctors who are quick to label "anxiety". My mind is very
confused as to what happened to me. We still don't know what was in
the apartment that made me so sick. I am starting to become very
depressed about my deteriorating health and I pray for some
remission. This all just seems like a very bad dream. I try to do
yoga when I feel up to it but, unfortunately, that is not too often.
I just say to myself every night before I go to bed, " Maybe I'll
wake up tomorrow and it will all be gone."

I hope Michael some day finds his way to this group. He will keep us
laughing for days.
It must have been a shocker to find out you had sisters. But I am glad
you found out about them. Everyone needs family. And now the three of
you can make up for lost time.
Hopefully after BB5 Michael and Jennifer will be able to build a solid
relationship. It'll be hard to do in the house. People might target
them if they spend too much time together.

Ya what a bummer for Michael (on BB5) to find out he has a 1/2 sis. I found out
I had a biological sister and a 1/2 sister when I was 30 (3 years ago) and that
was tough enough! To be thrown into a game with her right nest to me.. hhmm... I
dont think I would have kept my composure! The best of luck to him with that!
It may be a hurtful way he found out.. but at least he did..... I missed 30

Hi everyone, I just joined this group. I am Chris, I have been a fan of
BB since the first season. It truly is an addiction. :p I liked Lori,
from the get go. Matt is right she does resemble Erika from last year.
Hopefully Lori will go for in the game. I know taking the money might
hurt her, no one will forget this. But everyone told her to take it and
I believe that was what made her mind up. If she did not I am sure
someone else would have jumped at the offer. I don't know what to think
about the bro/sis thing. I felt bad for the Micheal to find out like
that. Who knows what is going through his head. And for Jennifer to
tell him that her father said he had no other kids. That must of hurt.
What does everyone think of the twist with the twins???? I want to see
how this is going to play out. Well, that is all for now, I am sure I
will have more to talk about later.
Chris :)
PS... Matt I was on a totally different Lori group. :p That is why it
took me so long to post. :p

Hey folks,
I usually never post on groups like this, but Lori and I went to
High School together, so when I came across this group, I thought I
would join. I am hoping that she wins, but I have a bad feeling that
by taking the money last week, she sealed her fate.
It would be great if Lori at least lasts for a while. She is a
great girl and deserves the money. We were pretty good friends in
High School, but I haven't seen her in a few years, and had no clue
that she moved to LA! I didn't even know she would be on the show
until I saw the first episode. (BTW, she went to Lexington High

Hey folks,
I usually never post on groups like this, but Lori and I went to
High School together, so when I came across this group, I thought I
School, not Burlington).

I think the Sis is going to fall in love with the Brother because
he's so all up in her koolaid and not telling her they're related.
That would be funny....a little slurp slurp with the lights off.....
Cmon people! Come alive! Ha ha ha... throw out some ideas..
comments.. lets discuss BB5! Make some off the wall comments..
predictions... anything! WHo here thinks the 1/2 sis brother will
make it?
Awesome! No I havent been watching the feeds. I did on BB4, but I didnt get
allot of work done...lol..
I swore after Erika got booted, I would never watch BB again...lol.. but here I
am! It was hard knowing somebody in the house, and seeing them loose. But this
time, I dont know anybody, so I am just pulling for Lori since she is from my
area.

I think your right. The Alpha guys were like take it! take it! so she just did.
I thought she was gonna get a big target on her back, but so far if you are
watchin the feeds, she isn't even considered at all for nominations.

Oh really? COOL! I am from Saugus. I agree with her actually taking the cash..
I am just hoping it doesn't make her a target. I think they will boot Jennifer
first... but what do I know...lol.. I cant believe the resemblance between her
and Erika.

She's not from Worcester, she's from Burlington. I don't know if it
was such a bad move to take the $$, they all told her to, and if she
hadn't the next person probably would have!

LOL! Ya right on with the Marvin comment!!! Ha ha ha... ya I agree... she did
ask and everybody said take it! I just didnt like after the fact she did...
everybody was pissin and moanin! I was like "Did I miss something?!?!?!" Ha ha
ha...
---Original Message---
I think she would never have done it if half the house guests weren't
like "take it, take it!!!" Then she asked does everyone agree with
that and the overwhelming response was "yes." Plus, what was she
gonna do pass it on to Mike to see if he would take it or leave
it??? No way, everyone in her position would have taken it. Fu*k
Marvin too, that guy sucks it.
