Last of my backlogged messages, sorry there were so many:(
</bigger></fontfamily>EP: Individual Responsibility
<fontfamily><param>Times</param><bigger>Red "K" theory: J&M did no see
the searchers. Globes from The Foundling are bookends on the desk in
the next scene. From Bureau 39 and Newtrich (Newt Gingrich condensed?)
to Intergang and Church, Jr.? CK catches up with LL (nice light blue
suit) on the streets and asks about her date with Scardino. DP payroll
truck being robbed and apropos of the coffee L&C were drinking, Sman
boasts he will be faster than cappuccino! Clock behind LL on the
street says it is 10 minutes to 10 but I thought it was 9:15 am. Sman
says the robbers will have to take a raincheck on the checks!! Cute
and corny. No make up on Dean's hands! Sman knows he is feeling
strange but ignores it or seems unable to stop the effect, becomes
apathetic and when CK is also, LL does not notice that CK has the same
attitude as he snatches a bearclaw pastry vs chocolate covered (Dean
likes Chocolate covered?). Green "K" always ticked Sman off, according
to Church Jr.! CK tries to take action with LL but PW is kidnapped.
Dean seemed to be enjoying himself in that scene. He also seemed to be
standing in a strangely uncomfortable position in the scene with the
dogs, where Sman disbelieves, to hilarious result, that the young dog
groomer is really an actress, tongue firmly planted in cheek.("No,
really?" "Yes, really" Carolyn says:)!) How did LL get Sman to PW's
office? After all, he had walked away! Sman sketches the unmasked
kidnapper but the hands doing the sketching were not Dean's. Sman is
skeptical so why does he go to Friskin? Friskin comes off like a
dumbdumb. Maybe it is part of the technique used by
psychologists/psychiatrists, but it got on my nerves. Sman looks
uncomfortable on the couch and Friskin appears to be out of his line of
sight. Sman expresses very well why he care, since decisions he makes
everyday are in jeopardy. Sman has to keep appointments but that would
conflict with CK's job! (Yes, to all of you pointing fingers, I am a
Conflicts Manager:)!) Friskin's office getting maintenance during the
day from someone she never saw before? We never let anyone we don't
know into an office here, because one's wallet is likely to go missing!
Receptionist on the Church take.
Stern about to sell the DP? 72 hours till he sells to Multiworld. LL
takes on PW's responsibilities and then JO holds the fort, does his PW
impression:) "Oprah's Latest Diet!" Sman is not under the Red "K"
influence during the second visit? He talks as though he's himself if
a bit confused. Speaks of secret identity. It is CK who seems
apathetic or rather, the effect does not show till he's CK again.
Third dentist ref. LL confronts Friskin? Two men, same malaise, but
wrong conclusion drawn. Complex person, complicated relationship, CK,
effects rubbing off, and talk of Dan. LL had a bad time with Madame
Ex, so she does not want to put faith in Friskin. Too early for lunch
so CK goes for Danish and a cappuccino, well, he can without getting
fat. LL, so worried about Sman, finally notices CK's apathy.
Newtrich's office: CK being Sman = password! LL finally calls him Mr.
Hyde, some Red "K" there in the desk in an open box, for some
inexplicable reason, only effects CK when he opens the drawer, even
though the desk was not lead lined, I should think. When they are
about to get caught, she asks what they will do and he says "get
caught?" The writing is very snappy. CK wants to go to the movies but
later we hear he just wandered around aimlessly. PW operating on a very
high level. Bill went to Harvard Business School!
Sman tells Friskin he loves being Sman and that it is what he lives
for. People need him but Friskin thinks he needs a break from his
"job". Asks if he ever gets away and we find out he was in London for
2 minutes, which is not really what she meant! Sman is frustrated and
floats during the session. He vents, lets loose, breaks a wall and a
window and has to apologize both times. We see the consequences of his
loss of control. He loses his temper, angry at Friskin over the Red
"K" but believes her when she says she didn't know it was there. He
mentions the green variety having a physical effect. She points out
that the Red "K" seems to have a calming influence. The red effects
him mentally but later it doesn't. What makes Sman throw it out the
window? I thought he had been under its influence. Sman knows he's
got feelings to deal with, which is where the individual responsibility
comes in. Did PW hit the guy? MI tool box, paper clip, they break in,
LL says "I'm good" and CK says "Yes, you are" in their mutual
admiration of LL, though CK had made the hole! Second break in!
Dramatic change from vision to heat. PW rescued, everybody gets into
the act, Sman says it is great to be back! PW wrote the story even
though he was in the middle of it! That would not be objective:( CK
in a black shirt: nice:) Dan is not available. Sman's revelation
helps CK, he verbalizes to LL his taking of responsibility. He makes
up his mind, apologizes, and asks LL out! How does CK pull off that
date? Great fanfic idea. Actually, someone wrote it! 7:01, 7:02
lines were ad libbed (thanks, Zoom). We end with a great Dean smile
and a lovely L&C hug:)

<fontfamily><param>Times</param><bigger>Hi FoLCs:
Sorry, I forgot to sign Tidbits #3:(
1. Sman the Movie II on TBS on 5/23/99. At the end, when Sman
reverses the effects of the crystal, saving his own hard-re-won powers
but divesting the evil Krytponians of theirs, why do LL and Lex not
obtain powers? Then Sman leves Lex there!?!
2. Local video shop had a window featuring super heroes, lots of Sman
and Batman video, some of them animated, noticed on 5/23/99.
3. Overheard on 5/23/99 in a local supermarket, "there were no
Superpowers"!
4. Dogboys will be shown again on Friday, 5/28/99, after midnight on
SHO, 2-4 am.
5. DS9, 5/23/99: Bashir, the genetically superior human doctor,
claims he can control his vital signs! His nemesis turns out to bear
the name Luther Sloan!
6. Mad About You series finale, 5/24/99: The two leads, thinking they
had been married seven years before in a private ceremony prior to a
public ceremony, find out they are not legally married at all. At the
public ceremony, believing it unnessecary to be serious, they had
claimed on the paperwork that "Lois Lane was marrying Humpty-Dumpty!"
7. Attended post State of the Medical College address party given on
5/24/99 by the Dean of the Medical College, where "Super Brie" was
served. Two professors I was talking to laughed heartily when I
quipped that all that was missing was a little red cape!
8. On Access Hollywood, 5/24/99, a mini-Dean siting!!!! A feature
about an event in Las Vegas, which went on to feature Stamos and
Stamos, flashed a smiling moment of Dean, only a few seconds long.
There was a tape in the VCR but I missed it anyway. My jaw dropped, I
scrambled for the remote, but it was too, too late. I nearly
flipped!!!!
9. Watched Disney's Hercules on ABC, only because it was recommended
by a friend and I had not seen it. Made in 1997, and full of all the
Disney-type touches one has come to expect in such productions, I was
immediately struck by how L&C-ish the story seemed. Herc, kidnapped as
a kid (read space journey from his home planet), becomes nearly mortal
(read reverse of becoming super) and cannot return to Mount Olympus
(read the planet Kryton). His father is Zeus, his mother is Hermes,
both gods, whom Herc meets but never lives with again (read Jor-el and
Lara). Instead, he has mortal aodoptive parents, (read J&M), down on
the farm (!) and he flies (with the help of Pegasus, but Pegasus seemed
to be sort of like JO). Herc goes for help to a satyr named Phil (PW,
ok it is a stretch) and proceeds to Thebes for a hero-tryout (likened
to NYC, read Metropolis) but no one knows he is a really a god (secret
identity). Herc becomes locally celebrated, garnering an action doll
(read a few first season eps). He falls for a gal called Meg by her
friends, though she doesn't have any (read LL) and angers Hades (first
name: Rex, read Lex). Meg and Herc "play hookey", speak of Oedipus,
and she calls him "Wonder Boy" and "Farmboy"!!!!!!!!! Herc invited
back to Mount Olympus when a particular deed makes him a "true hero"
and once more a god, (read NK arc) but Herc refuses the honor to remain
with Meg, (sound familiar) whose life he has saved, braving hell to do
it (many eps possible to be read here, sort of). I was incensed.
Disney, which we hold directly responsible for kicking L&C off ABC, was
willing to plunder the very same premise, but could not stand the
competition! The modern touches were just like the way L&C brought
the Sman story into the 90's. How original (snear)! (Carolyn nearly
moved to scream and stamp her foot, but refrained, needing both voice
and feet to go to work!)

<fontfamily><param>Times</param><bigger>Hi FoLCs:
Saw a film that reminded me of L&C, called Teacher's Pet, Doris Day,
Clark Gable, 1958, B&W. Gable plays a hardbitten newsman concealung
that identity to appear like a novice journalist to journalism teacher
Day, in order to get close to her. She is dating a prolific
psychologist/author (Gig Young). Day is offended by Gable trying to
kiss her but after he leaves, she gets weak in the knees and hot under
the collar. Just wait to see how mad she will get when she finds out
he's really super-reporter!! Well, I was taping for a friend and did
not actually see that part of the movie but if you can catch it, you
may see what I saw and how interesting the newspaper scenes are.
Watching (and taping for a friend) the original The Wild Wild West on
TNT, West is referred to by another character as being "some kind of a
super man" since he can ride, shoot, swim, dive, etc. for a theft he is
hired to pull off, undercover, of course. Young Robert Conrad without
a shirt ain't bad either:)
Flipping channels, came upon the Cartoon Network showing Sman cartoons
in a show they called "Super Chunk" which featured the "Super Friends"
and then I flipped to TBS, the "Super Station"!
My mother's new Dell PC and my old Mac both have a drawing program
called "Super Paint". It is fun to use but I have no talent:(
When I visited my mother for Mother's Day, it was a beautiful day and
warm, so my mother had the front door open and the screen door was
locked. As I was talking to her a few feet from the open door, I
heard a strange squeak and found myself breaking off what I was saying
to stare out the door, where I could see nothing that would squeak.
The sound then repeated and I said "It's a bird!" My mother chimed
right in "Not a plane. Not even Superman!" My brother and I exchanged
looks (he's been editing my L&C stories) and I said "Not even Dean" at
which point my brother and I both cracked up. My mother did not really
know what I was talking about regarding Dean but the rest of it was
funny enough to amuse her anyway.
Early Edition: Nature bit used like in WWW onL&C, reference to
tights.
Sman the Movie shown again but I completely missed it.
Chris Reeve CNN Bio and interview Sunday, 5/16.
Sman t-shirt showed up on Midnight Blue, a x-rated cable show in NY.

<fontfamily><param>Times</param><bigger>On to:
Ep: Dead Lois Walking
TNT Opener (Erin again): "Sometimes Lois has a bad tempter but could
she be a killer?"
Teaser: PW looking at headlines about LL convicted, distraught, people
shun him, the DA is on TV, PW yells for it to be turned off. CK at the
table near the elevators, not at his desk, Dean so good here: "They
want to execute my wife, Perry." Fanfic idea about PW trying to make it
up to L&C? PW advises him to go home but CK tells him there is nothing
there for him. CK left alone, mulls it over, sighs, decides to do...
something!
LL has been dreaming about the trial and jail, about CK and she wakes
to see Superman. She tells him she has been dreaming of him. He says
"I'm taking you out of here!" The Greek chorus of thunder and
lightening chimes in. Fanfic idea about CK preparing to take LL away
(not using the Jeep, bringing her clothes, etc.,) Handy Super-finger as
jailhouse key (bump on Dean's forehead is back). He has rationalized
that helping LL is justice, she sort of loves him being irrational.
"Are you sure?" "I'm sure that I love you." Scoops and flies. When CK
becomes irrational, LL says she likes it and so did I but was he really
being irrational? Maybe just forceful and convinced finally that using
his superpowers in this case is the right thing to do, since the trial
was a frame-up.
J. Cole in the bell tower (was reminiscent of the first Batman movie
but the outdoor view looked more like St. Patrick's Cathedral here in
NYC) calls Sman a muscle-bound goody-goody. Finally we see the formula
for Cole's desire for revenge, with pics of Klein and Sman. Sheila
Danko shows and asks if the formula is "new math". Why do female
dumdums always sound like they are from Brooklyn or Chicago? She's
upset but only gets threats.
L&C on the road, driving in a storm, not in the Jeep. Liked the
reference to The Fugitive TV series. The "mad dog Lane" moniker is not
exactly new. Why is it always stormy when things are not going well
for L&C? Yes, I know this time it was part of the plot but I had to
ask:) Actually, it is usually that Greek chorus thing:)
CK's superhearing is better than a CB radio, roadblock ahead. Liked
the light touch to the writing despite the desperate situation. CK
seems impulsive but CK has already realized that Sman would be
implicated as a suspect. "That is why we are not flying" and LL says
he could go very fast but he says "You'd be vaporized". They find a
cheap "Cozy" motel and make light of how they did not have an out of
town honeymoon till now. They have a very leaky roof to contend with
and they both had colds. Then the Police show up!
(Sman Movie II and IV commercials!)
CK's conversation at the motel with the cop was one of the most
hilarious in all of L&C. Dean and the other actor really pulled it off
well ("no creak at all"). Also, loved the banter. Teri is the wet
T-shirt contest winner! They go through the list of grudges which is a
computer printout several pages long. LL complains that no one
appreciates what they do and use the DP to wrap old fish in (why not
new fish....) Candles and cuddles in bed look really "cozy" to me:)
They dive under the covers and CK says "oooh" but we see Cole's name
among the few highlighted from the list.
Klein promoted over Baines? (Related to Tony?) Wrench (not monkey
wrench?) in Project "K"? Hybrid Kryptonite? Although Baines is a
hallucination, Klein argues well. The labs at S.T.A.R. Labs don't look
much like real labs! Benches and cabinets not like here at Cornell or
at Columbia where my mother got her Ph.D. Cole has Baines, calls the
DA, DA has the shell casing, and audience has a close-up to look at.
Route 281 Diner is really PW's fishing cabinet, the hideout in Wall of
Sound, etc, etc. LL makes the front page of the "Rural Gazette"
(owned by the same subsidiary as the Smallville Post?) CK says the
Metropolis Police questioned Sman for hours but we don't see it
(fanfic?), has been home (off camera) and that there are 40 messages
from Ellen Lane. LL orders a gourmet meal while CK would like to fall
into the river, sink into the earth....sorry, always lapsing into song
lyrics:) CK wonders why LL, who is on the lam, would not want to keep
the cuisine low key. When diner owner Lou makes her, the police show
up. CK tries to hear the conversation but LL can't stop babbling and
CK misses the conversation in great pain (knife in his head). When Lou
says LL fights for people like him and that people appreciate LL's
work, why don't L&C say thank you or something. Okay, they "look"
grateful...
Danko ends up sort of taping her own demise after her silly speech but
the script was really well written. She is the only witness who could
testify for LL. L&C back in Metropolis, LL in another bad wig and
sunglasses. CK goes to the DP, PW&JO "know" that CK has LL, though CK
tries to deny it, saying "she's at large". If this is just the next
day, it would not seem so weird that he has returned. They try to help,
stumble over the gone shooting Sykes rather than LL shooting Sykes and
wish her well. Dean's forehead bump is gone. Cole knows its LL under
the wig. CK is a force of nature. His attitude inspires JO, since
Sman got the tape copy, CK sees Cole in a fragment, does a
super-sketch, tells JO where to look for the evidence that will hold up
in court, (bump moved to his cheek?). LL reads about freak storms. CK
asks if she is crazy hanging around in front of the court (she has
called him and that conference room call was hilarious: "why would you
be kidding?") She says his S-suit shows. He goes to hover and x-ray
and tells her not to do anything adventurous. He did not account for
adventurous things just happening to her. LL calls her mother, who had
to double her meds, while a full-scale press conference is taking shape
behind her and her name is the opening salvo. (She is wearing a black
trenchcoat:()
CK returns and is really nervous until he realizes the DA had the shell
casing. He runs on in as though he is asking a press question and,
knocks the DA over, picks him up and drops him again, allows himself to
be ushered away while he straightens his tie (Sman is under there!) and
comes back to LL with the evidence, really cute and cocky!! They have
now exchanged "you are the best" mutual admiration.
How is Klein so easily fooled when Sman says stuff like "HiHo" and
sounds like he's reading the stiff speech (forehead bump is back so it
was filmed on the same day as the jail break?). Blue lab coats?
CK leaves to see Klein (let's see some tights!) and LL gets immediately
kidnapped in the car. What else could possibly happen? Answer:
abduction! I liked the Inverness coat Cole wears. The real Sman goes
to Klein, more rapid-fire real funny dialogue. What's hybrid "K"?
Answer: something lethal to everyone!!!! Klein gets the call that in
15 minutes stormy skies will erupt and it will be Klein's and Sman's
fault. LL in batty baddie bondage!
Sman back to the DP as CK to tell PW about JC (Jackson Cole, not Jesus
Christ!) CK impressively guessing while he calls the motel and gets
no answer, JO tells PW about the storms which sounded like Dorothy's
cyclone. LL moves her chair, JC does not notice though he would notice
extra rope used to tie her up! DA has lost the shell casing and asks a
nun for it (Sharon Thomas again? Dean's mom, I mean). Storm was nicely
scary and violent but after Oklahoma and Kansas this past week, the
thought is terrifying.
Sman seems to be taking a big chance with the making his own tornado,
since people seem to be hurt by it. Another newsstand bites the dust
in an Sman Movie II-like scene. Sman is successful gets applause from
everyone except JC, who calls him a freak, healthy as a horse. LL
kicks the lever and the bells ring out, summoning Sman ("you rang?")
Dean really enjoyed being Sman sometimes:)
DP: LL cleared, Klein cleared too. LL at home, there is a knock, it is
CK with roses and champagne, arranging to carry LL over the threshold
for their first quiet evening at home together. Clark was in high
gear all during this ep and I loved him written that way. Now they are
yearning for the calm and the peace. Was there a cut in the threshold
scene? CK super-chills the bubbly, toasts being that "old married
couple", joking about bonding over the wallpaper. LL finally get it
that there ARE more important ways to bond. They race upstairs but
despite LL yelling "no cheating" we know CK has by the squeal of
delight LL emits as he gets there ahead of her. (hmm...nfic in here?)
We cheer...or sigh contentedly.

<fontfamily><param>Times</param><bigger>I was going to include the
following with my next ET which I hope to publish tomorrow but it might
have made it too long so here are:
Non-Ep thoughts:
The Patty Duke Show Movie was on this past week and I had forgotten
that her dad had been a reporter. In the movie, her son had also
become a reporter. The interesting part is that on the show, Patty's
last name is supposed to be "Lane"!
Early Edition, Saturday Evening: Gary's hometown depicted and it
seemed Smallville-esque to me, complete with local gathering and a
past, though different kind of history with the sheriff. Gary's
mother's name is Lois!
"Super Ego Corp." is actually on an awning over a small convenience
shop on my block!
"Mighty Mutts" is the name of a local private organization that rescues
stray animals. They are sometimes confused with "Super Dogs"!
Star Trek Communicator Magazine #121 features interveiw with Roxanne
Dawson, who I understand is friendly with Teri Hatcher, and who's baby
daughter is named Emma Rose!
Dialogue on "Designing Woman" rerun: referring to the character of
Julia Sugarbaker (Dixie Carter), another character refers to Julia as
"The Terminator", known as the person who tells men off on a regular
basis: "able to eliminate jerks in a single bound"!
Bindertek Business Systems Catalog '99: Cover says "Organizes Your
office in a Single Bound" and features a royal blue binder sporting a
red cape and a big yellow "B"!

<fontfamily><param>Times</param><bigger>Non-Ep thoughts:
On local news last night, the sports anchor was presenting his monthly
Spanning the World piece which is wacky sports related film from all
over. Last evening, the final piece of film showed a flying cat billed
as "Super-Cat". "Not a bird or a plane!" but the cat jumped from a
high pole, through a hoop and made it all the way to the ground where
it landed on all fours and then ran into the brush. The cat really did
appear to be flying. All it was missing was a little red flying
cape....
The new Celebration Fantastic mail order catalog has the Superman beach
towel and also the silk Sman robe. 1-800-Celebrate.
Ep thoughts:
A thought left over from IGACOY: CK is eating chicken at his desk and
uses a drumstick to poke fun at LL's chicken costume, which was
delivered from the cleaners to LL at the DP. CK would probably not
have seen it till she was performing in it if the cleaners had sent it
to her house. Did the cleaners goof or did LL by having it come to the
DP?
I decided to chance a longer post and put these two together because of
the logic of it. I can divide them up later if necessary. I have also
added back in the comments I made the first time around, (ET #2),
because most of them (not all), still seemed valid to me.
TNT opener (Erin): "You keep the world safe as long as you keep Lois
happy."
Ep: The People versus Lois Lane
L&C have two of everything (like Noah's Ark?) and LL insists they must
bond. CK struggles with the wallpaper at human speed but is not a
klutz at superspeed! LL hangs up the S-suits in the secret
compartment, and the suits appear to be one-piece affairs, though we
know they were two piece costumes. Otherwise they are a normal couple!
Sykes talks to the LA Law guy, Alan Rachins, as Dr. Jefferson Cole,
complete with toupee. CK wants to go along, since his instinct tells
him he should. L&C seemed to have been listening to her choice of
music on the radio, because the moment LL leaves, CK switches to the
football game (the Bills?) and super cheats with the wallpaper. He
scores like with the Sman kick near the end of Lucky Leon. LL's
instincts about guns are also good but she goes along, the gun goes
off, the act is recorded on video tape and LL is immediately arrested
off camera. We can presume that Cole had called the police but it is
not clear how CK hears about it since LL has not been given her one
phone call yet. LL is so high profile? I don't know the name of a
single print reporter in this town! (ok, so I'm ignorant!) Big crowd,
dumb DA, CK immediately suspects a campaign stunt, always has his eye
on the political ball.
I liked it when Clark says in response to the DA's "you don't know who
you're dealing with", "Yeah! Well neither do you!" and the reverse
take off on Man of Steel Bars was cute (except for the wedding ring, no
watch!). CK is barred from entering the police station? Cole and his
talented protege go from hallucination butterflies to LL FX: "Check
the frequency modulator" reminded me of the Dan Rather mugging
incident: "What's the frequency, Kenneth?" LL takes on the high
ground and the system, but the "social worker" guard doesn't care about
the human spirit. Sman shows up, proving that LL does have friends in
high places. The dialogue is hilarious. LL's cell mate thinks Sman is
the caped crusader (another Batman ref) and can't keep out of LL's
business, which effectively points out the lack of privacy in that
situation. The dialogue about being newlyweds and the lifting of
spirits was very compelling. Such a great scene and it is even funny
though they confess to miss each other. Dean as Sman AND CK looked
suitably heartbroken. I loved how smart CK plays it by calling in the
press as Sman and forcing Lois' release, volunteering to help, invoking
Truth, Justice and The American Way, personal favors and personal
guarantees: you can trust me, "I am, I am Superman and I know what's
happening!"
CK worried about LL, they try to re-create the incident, LL says she
was focused on getting the story, CK focuses on and finds the shell
casing, worried then that police saw his superfeat. LL struggles over
LaneKent, Lane or Kent, etc. The cop was obnoxious and CK gets to be
sarcastic about moving too fast for the police. He also instantly
understands that LL is upset. I didn't blame Lois for feeling harassed
by overbearing police. Back at the DP, LL thinks the DA is using her
as a stepping stone to the Governor's Mansion and CK says "over my dead
body" while kissing her hand. Both CK and PW wear red ties and blue
shirts. JO stumbles over the gun shooting rather than LL shooting
Sykes. Angela Winters is LL's lawyer, not Constance Hunter! LL at
home calls JO about computer upgrade files. Weren't Lois' old files
destroyed in BATP? Oh, right, JO had BCK and WCK files, somehow! LL
is driven. Cole turns everything to his advantage. The wallpaper
confession scene was neat as was CK seeing that J&M have arrived before
he opens the door. Martha has her one and only faux pas, accidentally
being overheard by LL and LL's parents are on safari. Twice CK doesn't
want to leave LL alone. Each time she convinces him its okay and each
time it's a disaster. Clark maybe should have known better? Audience
meant to believe it really is LL gunning for Danko until LL walks
through Sman, who fortunately heard what was happening from outside the
hotel. Cole knows Sman was not fooled and wants to get Sman out of the
way. Sman arrives back at the townhouse but does not speak to LL for
some reason. He changes to CK behind the boxes, saving a special
effect, and has no choice but to let the police in.
LL back to jail. CK and J&M show up (I thought visitors don't go to
the cells) as well as Angela Winters. Circumstantial evidence leads
grand jury to send LL to trial though LL is innocent. That should be
the most important thing but CK suspects manipulation and conspiracy.
Trial begins and CK sits near LL, which I thought unusual. Danko shows
her video and tells of LL's supposed attempt on her life. DA's
strategist gets Cole's call: "Fry Lois Lane" say the t-shirts. "Get
rid of the casing: lose it? Tamper with evidence? He does it anyway!
CK thinks of the firing pin and Angela imparts that the casing is
missing. She gets Perry, the potential character witness, talking
about Sykes, the sleezeball, making LL go ballistic but we know his
instinct is to be protective of LL.
The jail scene with the non-2500 sit-ups was really well written. Sman
shows up and tells LL she cheated while he cheats to get in by bending
the bars. LL says that Sman can't do something crazy and he has that
terrific line about "feeling" rather than "thinking" about breaking her
out. Can you imagine CK, who has waited his whole life to be married
to LL, to have her out of reach like that? CK loves LL and done not
just put up with her being unusual, he may secretly wish he could be
more like her. They have this wonderful dialogue about how Sman would
damage himself as the symbol of fairness and how she wants to leave by
the door, not the window. He leaves her there, (what? no hug?) LL
looks like she feels worse after he leaves. Extra pressure on LL
worrying about what CK might do in her defense. PW is menaced with a
needle and that was a scary scene. DA calls Sman to the stand (should
have yelled "help"!) CK coughs, leaves, returns as Sman (nice pan shot
up of him as he walks in but I thought Dean looked ticked, like he did
in the black suit pan! Full body scans bug him?).
Sman on the Stand: great scene where a great many things are defined:
Kal-El doesn't have to be sworn in (and does not hear Cole muttering in
the back of the room). Sman testifies about the hallucinations and how
he knows LL, his opinion carrying great weight. Friends? Wouldn't he
do anything for LL? Does he have a heart like humans? Sman engages in
a slight evasion but the truth is that Sman can't appear to love
anyone. He can, however, state that CK loves LL, out loud for the
world to hear and we all cheer:) He says he respects love, he respects
truth and that it is his "job" to uphold the truth and "That is what I
would do anything for!" And the FoLCs go wild!!!!!!!
PW gives unexpected testimony, another hallucination (Max Headroom?)
but Sman is in London stopping a fake missile and a real Piccadilly car
pile-up. The London set is also the magic club from IoG, the hotel in
SLaV, the orphanage in SG, etc. LL almost in contempt of court.
Perry's middle name is the same as CK's? LL back to jail, CK could not
find PW, knows London emergency was part hallucination. LL says she is
guilty of arrogance, listing all the qualities about herself, well, not
polite:) that make her expect that the system will be fair to her. CK
tells her to stop it and that they will get through this together.
Angela does not stand with LL when the verdict comes in? Mouthed "I
love you" was a terrific touch. It all goes into slo mo when she is
found guilty. Doesn't anyone smell a rat here? Everyone is so busy
reacting, that no one is thinking, until Clark finally breaks LL out.

Actually the official "Opening Night" is always a few days into the
performance - the first few days are "previews". So, while this will be a
HUGE inconvenience for those that had tickets for June 9th - it isn't the
"Opening Night" where the press usually attends and the "big name" people.
Based on that article - everything will resume on July 10th and I doubt that
the official "Opening Night" will be affected at all.
Either way, I hope that those that have tickets are able to get the word soon
and get their tickets exchanged for another night.

I am not sure what kind of announcements they are making in the Chicago area
about this but thought I would let you all know.....I am posting this to both

tickets for Wednesday, June 9th....be sure to contact the Box Office asap to

Copley News Service, May 25, 1999
'CABARET' DELAYED Life is a cabaret, except for patrons who expected to see
Cabaret opening night June 9 at the Shubert Theater. Due to logistics, the
Broadway revival will open one day late, on June 10, producers said. The road
company closes late June 6 in Boston, and the crew needs the extra 24-hour
window to truck the set into Chicago and rebuild it here, sources said.
First-nighters may return their tickets at the point of purchase for an
exchange or refund. The musical, starring Teri Hatcher as chorus girl Sally
Bowles, runs through July 11.

I've heard good reports of it from New Zealand, but hadn't seen it anywhere
here, Hayley. Is it out for rent, or to buy? Do you have a serial number
and distributor, if it's a purchase?
Cheers,

Well, it's what I'd call a "non news" interview <g> I was surprised Teri
didn't mention her anniversary since the Rosie show date was so close and she
didn't mention that Jon Tenney got a new series with FOX network that will be
debuting this fall. It was mainly talk about how great the theater is, how
great the people *in* the theater are, how great the people who attend the
theater are, and so on <g> She mentioned Emmy, and touring with Emmy, and
changing Emmy's diaper, and breast feeding Emmy, etc. Teri did mention that
her closet was locked because it had valuables in it and couldn't remember
where the key was so had to call a locksmith to open it. And there you have
just about the whole interview....such as it was ;)

Now, down to business. I saw Futuresport for the first time last week
(it has just come out on video here in the UK). Wow - I didn't realise
I had Dean Withdrawal! All the posts from about 6 months ago when you
guys were discussing this, make sense now. Definte chemistry between
Dean and Vanessa Williams, but not as good as with Teri.
Talking of Teri, we don't get Rosie show here. What did Teri have to
say?

Ladies and gents, I give you "Mom's Sledgehammer" post of rules and regs on
the list:
Please note that with most mailers, when you hit reply to a list message your
mail will go to the entire list, rather than the original poster.
Please keep in mind that you can post mail to the list only from the account
you subscribed from, and so if subscribed from Superman@..., it
will not accept postings from Superman@..., unless that variation is
added. Likewise, if you subscribed from Lois@..., you cannot post
from Lois@...
First off, I'll introduce myself :) Hi, I'm Zoom aka the list 'Mom'. What I
say goes :)
We have but a few rules and regs.
1) No flames, EVER. I will hurt you.
2) Read this massive post carefully as it talks about Signal/Noise and Volume
control, netiquette, etc.
3) No chain letters. This means don't post anything that says "Pass it on."
at the end, so no cookie recipes, no get rich quick, nada.
4) No spamming. This means anything completely off the topic the list was
designed for, i.e., 'a boy with <insert disease> needs your help', no
advertising of products, no 'I know this is off topic but thought it was
cute' posts (I'll kill ya for this one ;) And don't subscribe us to other
mailing lists, because @oneline.com will prosecute your little fanny ;)
Mom's Sledgehammer Post, aka Signal:Noise/Volume Control:
In the interests of not spamming people's mailers, here's the rules:
1) Always think before hitting reply "Do all the people subscribed to the
list really need to hear this, or should I reply only to the author?" (like
someone mentioning they're from Texas, you don't have to tell everyone on the
list that you're from Texas too, but the author of the post might like to
hear from a fellow Texan) This is very important when threads reach the point
where they bear only the slightest relation to L&C, and you would still like
to discuss them with interested parties. If it gets too far off topic, then
I'll simply retire the thread to private e-mail.
2) Always look over your reply before sending to make certain you have
edited out the previous message's .sig, and any portions you are not
*directly* replying to. The people on digest will thank you. This is VERY
important. I do NOT like seeing an entire post copied. ONLY copy the
portion of the post you are replying to.
3) If possible, read all your mail before replying, as someone may well have
already supplied the information asked for, or have said exactly the same
thing you have.
4) Never, ever send a "me too." or "I agree" post to the list, unless you
are going to elaborate and add something to the conversation. Your listowner
will thank you :) This simply means don't just reply to a post with a little
line like 'me too' and nothing else, I'm not saying you can't agree with
people<g>
5) If you are having problems with the sheer number of posts, consider
setting yourself to Digest. This way, you get one to three large messages
digesting all the posts of the day, instead of each individual message. This
is especially useful for replying to many posts at once.
6) If at all possible, combine your posts. This is a tough one, I admit I
find it easier to respond to individual posts because it's fresh in my mind.
But it does help cut traffic.
7) Be considerate of your fellow listmembers. Everyone has off days, makes
typos, and isn't as clear as they wanted to be. Before interpreting posts as
flames, or making judgments, give it 12 hours and see what develops, or write
the poster privately and *ask* them. Just ignoring some things avoid
flamewars (not that we ever, ever have flamewars, because I kick people off
who blatently flame).
8) It's up to you to make this list a fun place to post and read. Yes, we
are a little looser with Signal:Noise than most lists, but I think this
atmosphere fosters involved discussions, as more people who would normally
lurk are less wary of expressing their opinions in an a more open, friendly
forum.
9) Always keep .sigs under 5 lines (those are the messages that end up at
the end of someone's post, usually glued there automatically when an e-mail
program offers the option of a sig file). A .signature file should contain
your full email address. If you do not have a .sig, please remember to sign
all your posts with your name/nick and your e-mail address so that if
someone wants to reply to you directly, they can.
10) If you want to run a poll or survey (L&C related or fan info related
only please) then ask listmembers to respond to you PRIVATELY at your
personal e-mail address. This doesn't necessarily include posts that ask for
favorite episodes, quotes, moments from episodes, etc. That type of post is
simply a good way for a lot of fans to participate and is allowed on the list
and always has been. However, if you state that it is a survey, ask for
private e-mail responses.
11) Never ask for a listmember's home address on this list, and likewise
don't post your home address to this list. This is for your protection.
12) Never FLAME anyone. A flame is a deliberate attack on a fellow list
member and it will not be tolerated. Examples of flames would be "Did your
mother have any children who lived?" "How can you be so stupid?" "Any idiot
knows this answer, oops, I forgot who I was talking to" etc. You can get
away with flames on USENET and even AOL, but NOT HERE.
13) If you have a message from someone off the list, then simply post that
this person or persons would like to share an opinion and give their e-mail
address. Don't post their opinion to the list. If they have neither the time
nor the inclination to be subscribed to this list, then fans shouldn't have
to read a post that they can't respond to directly.
14) Profanity is not allowed on this list or in sig files.
15) NEVER attach a file to this list.
16) Don't put HTML junk on the list. If you want to share a website, then
type it out, don't make a hot link and post it to the list.
Why We're all Here:
The list was created as a place to discuss Lois&Clark, as well as provide a
place for people with like interests to meet. However, I would remind you
all that when I say 'discuss', I mean it in the true sense of the word. We do
not make BLANKET statements, and if we do, please, (I'm on my knees here),
BACK THEM UP with examples and persuasive evidence. People will pay more
attention to you if you say *why* you like or dislike something, as opposed
to just stating you love or hate something about the show, episodes, actors,
the writing, etc
If you are having a problem with the list, please write to me and I'll see
what I can do.
Zoomway@...
Hi, everyone!
Thanks to a kind bit of relay-messaging by Rowan Fuller (because I've been
too wrapped up in my own messes to contact Zoom directly myself) I've found
you all!
I hope you're all doing well?
I'm going through a bit of a sticky patch at the moment - but found a
lovely new black and yellow S mug in Warner Bros to cheer me up - as well
as a not so hot 'complete history of Superman' with the old nonsense about
the marriage killing L&C buried near the end. We can do better than that,
can't we?
Cheers,
Colin.
