So, tomorrow night the rape is supposed to be
resolved? We know that supposedly Logan supplied the
drugs. Do you think they're going to wimp out and
have it be that she was under the influence but
consented and just doesn't remember? And who do you
think the other person(s) involved were?
My money's on Duncan. They've been setting it up with
him having the blackouts and such to the fact it makes
me believe he's done something while out of it!

It looks to me that GHB is a party drug that can *also* be used as a date rape drug. Gives potential for some wiggle room to Logan.
http://www.projectghb.org/what_is_ghb.htm
*GHB: *Gamma hydroxy butyrate or Gamma hydroxybutyric acid, Sodium Oxybate
*Made From:* *gamma butyrolactone* (GBL) and *Sodium Hydroxide* or *Potassium Hydroxide *- basically it is /*degreasing solvent*/ or /*floor stripper*/ mixed with /*drain cleaner*/. When GBL or BD or products containing them are ingested, GHB is produced in the body, that is why we refer extensively to GBL and BD products on these pages.
*GHB Precursors* (analogs): /*(They turn into GHB in your body)*/ GBL , BD, Blue Nitro,
Revivarant, Renewtrient, GAMMA-BUTYROLACTONE, Revitalize Plus, Serenity, Enliven, GHRE, SomatoPro, NRG3, Thunder Nectar and Weight Belt Cleaner, Invigorate, Firewater, Verv, and more
*Description:* A clear liquid. Looks just like water. Can be mistaken for water because it is usually found in a small (30ml) clear plastic bottle, a water bottle, or even Gatorade bottles, which contains several doses. One quick taste, and you'll know it's not water. Not as common, but also found as a white powder. Infact powder use is on the rise!
*Effects:* Intoxication, increased energy, happiness, talking, desire to socialize, feeling affectionate and playful, mild disinhibition, sensuality, enhanced sexual experience, muscle relaxation, loss of coordination due to loss of muscle tone, possible nausea, difficulty concentrating, loss of gag reflex.
*Many people have bad reactions*. These can include* *nausea, headaches, drowsiness,
dizziness, amnesia, vomiting, loss of muscle control, respiratory problems, loss of consciousness, being conscious but unable to move, and death- */Especially when combined with alcohol or other drugs./*
*Effects of large doses:* Disinhibition, sedation, desire to sleep, rambling incoherent speech, giddiness, silliness, difficulty thinking, slurred speech, passing out, and death. Here's one scenario: While You Were Sleeping - Online Presentation of GHB Dangers <../while_sleeping/sld001.htm> ****WARNING - if your friend passes out, always seek medical attention immediately, no matter what anyone else tells you.*
*Effects of overdose:* Sleep or deep sedation from which you cannot be awakened by any means for about three hours, and in many cases, death. *Passing out while on GHB is sometimes called carpeting out, scooping out, or throwing down.*
*Center for Disease Control : *"GBL is an industrial and household solvent of acrylate polymers, and unintentional poisonings have been reported ... It also is marketed as a dietary supplement at health food stores and on the World-Wide Web under several trade names. Although labeled as dietary supplements, /GBL-containing products are illegally marketed, unapproved new drugs/ that have been involved in .... reports of adverse events..." *EMEDICINE* : "GHB is readily manufactured from its precursor, gamma-butyrolactone (also known as 2(3h)-furanone dihydro or GBL). GBL is a solvent found in floor cleaning products, nail polish and super glue removers. Saponification of the lactone with sodium hydroxide in the form of lye results in nearly quantitative conversion. This method is not without its drawbacks however; there are several case reports of caustic alkali ingestion from undissolved lye. GBL
also undergoes conversion into GBH in vivo (by an unknown mechanism) and, accordingly, is associated with many of the same symptoms." *click their link for more.*
*The University of Florida lists these effects*:
Coma Somnolence Confusion Unconsciousness Seizures Dizziness Agitation Respiratory Arrest Insomnia Nausea Hallucinations Anxiety Vomiting Bradycardia (slow heart rate) Tremor Weakness Decreased respiratory effort (decreased number of breaths per minute)
Your body manufactures GHB for its normal metabolism. The only reason people take GHB at a party is to get high, not for their health. People are kidding themselves if they imagine they're taking a vitamin supplement or amino acid, even though GHB has been marketed as such. /*Just because trace, minute amounts of GHB are found in a human body doesn't make the lab-created form of it safe to consume!*/
It has even been dubbed "liquid ecstasy." Its highly
concentrated street form is available as a liquid in small plastic bottles, about the size and shape of a hotel shampoo bottle. One dosage is usually a capful. There are approximately 9 hits per bottle, but this, too varies depending on the concentration of the mix. It's very cheap as well. (as taken from Vaults of Erowid, an Internet site mostly claiming benefits of GHB. They do, however, mention some negative effects, but these are downplayed and then blamed on the "establishment," which according to their view has forced GHB underground and is to blame for these overdoses!)
This is GHB in a nutshell. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE THINGS PEOPLE ARE CLAIMING , THAT GHB IS GOOD FOR YOU, AND THAT IT IS NOT ADDICTIVE????? And what about narcolepsy ????? What about the law ?
There are many cases of overdose involving GHB or its analogs. We will post these or provide links for them on our links
page. For now, read the comments we've received. Also, read the links for current news and medical information
*One Internet Recipe Website says:* "Safety: /*Wear gloves and safety glasses*/ at all times. If any of the reagents or intermediates contacts the skin, wash well with cold water." AND: "The author is not responsible for /*any consequences arising from the synthesis and use of GHB*/" AND "To store it I use a mason glass jar with a plastic cover. /*I draw the poison logo on it*/ " - [bold and italics added for emphasis]. Now, *why* would you want to drink this?

Comments:
I was at the hospital the other night because my friend od'd on G there are street words for this also when ever the person passes out and drools on themselves and has poor muscle control it is said that person is in the "G
hold." After the person goes into a comma type thing and begins to throw up and have poor breathing then they are in the G hole most of the time you say this when they are near death.

Hits wrap up, specials heat up, favorites hang it up
By MIKE MCDANIEL Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle
Everybody says goodbye to Raymond, the Muppets pay a visit to the wizard of Oz, Britney Spears gets her own reality series, and Quentin Tarantino directs an episode of CSI.
American Idol and Survivor will crown new winners, as will America's Next Top Model, The Apprentice, The Contender and The Amazing Race. The Bachelor may or may not meet his match. And Rob and Amber's marriage vows will be sealed by a CBS kiss.
Elvis lives in the talented hands of young-Presley lookalike Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Bend It Like Beckham), Fox brings back Family Guy, Hercules flexes his muscles, and Dr. Phil makes two prime-time house calls.
Summer is more than a month away, but May looks like a scorcher for TV.
Need more evidence? Between April 28 and May 23, we'll face the finales of JAG, Third Watch and Enterprise; a movie that purports to take on Donald Trump; the 40th annual Academy of Country Music Awards; the 32nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards; and The West Wing's Janel Maloney portraying Amber Frey in a movie about the Scott Peterson case.
Oh, and did we mention the season finales that wrap up yearlong story lines on Lost, 24, Veronica Mars, Alias, Smallville and Desperate Housewives?
All this fuss is less about the enjoyment it gives viewers (however grateful we might be) and more about ratings, which can be translated into advertising rates. May is a "sweeps" month, when local stations use Nielsen Media Research's audience measurement to set future prices for commercials.
May is also the networks' backloaded way to win bragging rights for the 2004-2005 season. This year, CBS is running away in the total households and total viewers categories but is in a dogfight with Fox for age 18-49 supremacy. ABC is in position to finish in third place for the season, and NBC is in danger of finishing fourth in the 18-49 category for the first time ever.
With so much at stake, it's no wonder that the May sweeps, which starts Thursday, is looking like gangbusters. The most vicious confrontation comes May 25, last day of the sweeps, when the finale of Fox's wildly popular American Idol will compete with the finale of ABC's Lost and CBS' Amber Frey movie.
Or it could be "Fallen Idol," a May 4 Primetime Live report that ABC says will explore "explosive claims" about behind-the-scenes activities at American Idol.
Here's a network-by-network rundown:
ABC: Four fresh episodes of Desperate Housewives and Lost begin Sunday and May 2, respectively. Housewives' season finale is May 22. Lost concludes May 25 with a two-hour finale.
The Bachelor finale airs May 16.
Lena Olin returns for the season's final two episodes of Alias May 18 and 25.
Ashanti is Dorothy, Queen Latifah is Auntie Em, and Jeffrey Tambor is the wizard in The Muppets' Wizard of Oz May 20. Playing to her strengths, Miss Piggy fills four roles: the Wicked Witch of the East, West, North and South. Kermit stretches as the Scarecrow, Gonzo is the Tin Thing and Fozzie Bear plays the Lion.
Justin Louis stars in Trump Unauthorized, based on Gwenda Blair's Donald Trump biographies, on May 24.
CBS: The finale of JAG airs Friday.
Rosie O'Donnell plays a mentally challenged woman and Andie MacDowell is her sister in Riding the Bus With My Sister. The movie, directed by Anjelica Huston, airs Sunday.
The last episode of Everybody Loves Raymond airs May 16, preceded by a one-hour retrospective.
Dr. Phil McGraw hosts two prime-time specials, May 4 and 20.
Elvis, a two-parter, airs May 8 and 11. Randy Quaid is the King's manager, Colonel Tom Parker; Camryn Manheim is his mother, Gladys Presley; and Antonia Bernath plays wife Priscilla Presley. Elvis by the Presleys, an entertainment special promising never-before-seen performances, airs May 13.
The finale of Survivor: Palau airs May 15.
Academy of Country Music awards are handed out May 17, and the Daytime Emmys are awarded May 20.
CSI concludes its season May 19 with a two-hour episode in which one of the CSI team is buried alive. Quentin Tarantino directs, and Tony Curtis and Frank Gorshin make cameos.
On the May 23 season finale of CSI: Miami, Dean Winters (Oz) appears as Horatio's brother Ray.
Rob and Amber Get Married, including video of the Survivor and Amazing Race couple's recent wedding, is set for May 24, two weeks after the May 10 finale of Amazing Race. (Go, Uchenna! Go, Joyce!)
Fox: Family Guy bows Sunday along with another animated series, American Dad. The Simpsons' 350th episode, featuring guest voice Ray Romano, also runs Sunday.
24 concludes with a two-hour finale May 23.
Brace yourself: Four more episodes of The Simple Life will air beginning Thursday.
In addition to the last episodes leading up to the May 25 finale of American Idol, a special, American Idol: International Best of the Worst, is set for May 19.
Tate Donovan returns for the May 19 season finale of The O.C.
NBC: Third Watch comes to an end May 6.
Noah Wylie exits ER May 19. Danny Glover guest-stars.
Sean Astin, Leelee Sobieski, Elizabeth Perkins and Timothy Dalton star in the three-hour movie Hercules. Paul Telfer plays the lead in this latest Robert Halmi Sr. production.
Dr. Richard Massey (Bill Pullman) tries to stop the birth of the anti-Christ in the finale of Revelations, May 18.
The penultimate episode of The Contender, May 22, will determine who will fight in the million-dollar live finale May 24.
UPN: Britney Spears and husband Kevin Federline share their lives in a series premiering May 17.
Another new series, The Bad Girls' Guide, starring Jenny McCarthy, premieres May 24.
Veronica Mars solves who killed Lilly Kane in the May 10 season finale.
Star Trek: Enterprise goes into mothballs with a two-hour finale May 13.
America's Next Top Model crowns a winner May 18.
WB: Blue Collar funnyman Ron White gets his own comedy special, airing Thursday.
Comedian Bill Engvall leads an extreme makeover of a mobile home on Mobile Home Disaster, also on Thursday.
The May 11 season finale of Jack & Bobby reveals why Bobby, not Jack, embarked on a road to the presidency.
Clark begins to understand the reason for his being on a 90-minute season finale of Smallville, airing May 18. An eight-minute preview of the movie Batman Begins will be part of the telecast.

Of the things that Rob Thomas has been up to lately - welcoming his first child into the world, launching a highly detailed and well deserved Web site/shrine to himself, www.slaverats.com, and overseeing one of television's best shows, UPN's detective series "Veronica Mars" - shaking his pelvis on VH1 is not one of them.
And though a similarly monikered Matchbox 20 frontman has been keeping up appearances in that arena lately, it's the UT grad Thomas who has been stealing the spotlight of late.
Armed with the crafty and cute-as-a-button Kristen Bell as Veronica, in addition to a pitch-perfect supporting cast, Thomas has pulled off a show with "Veronica Mars" that is an anomaly for any network, let alone UPN, with its unique blend of pop culture ephemera and surprising lack of preciousness.
It's no surprise then that Thomas's favorite description of the show is a film analogy from The Village Voice's Joy Press, who called
"Veronica Mars" "a fusion of Chinatown and Heathers" and with its blonde heroine and flair for genre reinvention, a certain vampire slayer has also been ripe for comparison. In fact, following the debut of the show this past fall, Thomas has heard every positive adjective imaginable for the show.
But the one that has probably pleased him most has been "renewed," since his first show, the well-received, but short-lived Jeremy Piven-Paula Marshall romantic dramedy "Cupid," didn't see a second season.
And while it's a small but devoted fanbase that has watched the show's heroine Veronica go from a roofied and raped Valley girl to serving the thankless position of confident caretaker of the surreal, caste-like Neptune High (a school Thomas says he modeled loosely on Austin's own Westlake High School), the show's creator has undergone a metamorphosis of his own.
However, Thomas is no stranger to change.
After graduating from UT in 1987, Thomas killed time
in central Texas as a journalism adviser for Reagan High and subsequently, UT's now-defunct news magazine UTmost. At the same time, he was a bassist for the band Hey Zeus and a burgeoning young adult author.
"Once I quit the band and quit teaching, and I had all this time on my hands, and suddenly, I had no creative outlet," said Thomas. "I had moved to L.A. at that point and in a town where everyone is writing a screenplay, I was one of the few people who was writing a novel."
That novel, "Rats Saw God," established Thomas as a sharper, more literate throwback to the high school-set drama of John Hughes and also served as the calling card he needed to break into television.
"My biggest break came in a way that you could try it a million times, and it would not work," said Thomas. "I sent a copy of my first novel to [Jeff Sagansky] the then-president of CBS and said, 'I'd like to write for one of your teen shows, what do you think?' "
From there, as gifted as Thomas is, he probably couldn't have written a better script for his career. Sagansky thought Thomas' book was great but didn't have any work for him until he left CBS to run Sony's television division, which afforded Thomas the opportunity to write a couple episodes for the first season of "Dawson's Creek" and, more importantly, gave wings to Thomas' offbeat "Cupid."
Sadly, "Cupid's" quick wit was matched by a relatively quick demise, due in no
small part to its Saturday night time slot. Although it might've seemed like a blessing when David E. Kelley subsequently tapped Thomas to executive produce his detective show "Snoops," it was actually the first in a series of creative disappointments for Thomas that culminated with "The Sins," a show Thomas was set to run with the late Ted Demme ("Blow") until Demme passed away unexpectedly.
"It's the only time I've ever been not able to write, " recalled Thomas. "I would sit in front of my computer for three months and just kind of stare at it. It was one bad spell."
Thomas wound up writing nearly a dozen pilot scripts, two of which went in front of the camera, but it wasn't until he teamed with "The Matrix" producer Joel Silver, one of the unlikeliest of partners, on a noirish teen detective series that Thomas was able to get back on the air, on his own terms. As he says, slightly tongue in cheek, ""Veronica Mars" really was a way to combine my desire to do a high
school show with my desire to get a show on the air. "
With the show's renewal, perhaps at least now Thomas' prediction of "critical darling, commercial failure" being etched at the epitaph on his tombstone will be replaced by the more appropriate one of "televisionary."
Still, the only tombstone Thomas is concerned with presently is that of Lily Kane, Veronica's best friend whose murder has become the show's central mystery. After years of much more mystifiying situations, like the case of the missing ratings for "Cupid" and the often shadowy world of network TV, Thomas seems content to crack one conundrum at a time.
"The funny thing about "Cupid" is it came so easily and quickly to me that I don't know that I appreciated how difficult it is to get a show on the air," said Thomas. "I don't know if I sort of savored it as much as I should've. This time [with "Veronica Mars"], having had four years of misery and heartbreak, I'm really digging
this."

Interesting. We are told that the murderer will be a shock. Do you
ever get the feeling the murder isn't a suspect. I say that because
everyone with the folder is someone that Veronica has checked out or
suspected previously. The following people have a folder:
Logan
Duncan
Weevil
Celeste Kane
Jake Kane
I don't think I am missing anyone. These are the people the audience
suspected at one time or another. Logan was my first suspect based
on the pilot. Duncan was next, and he is still not off my list.
Weevil had light shone on him this past episode. Celeste/Jake had it
at previous times. We may revisit Logan, just to make us sweat. But
you know what, we haven't answered other questions:
Lynn's disappearance, and the fact that she had enough time to
correct her will. Was it really suicide? No body was found. She
could have disappeared just like Lianne.
Aaron Echolls-This is a nutcase will violent abusive behavior.
Lianne Mars-Wouldn't be a bittersweet victory knowing that V found
the killer, but it was her mother. V would be right back to square
one. It's a stretch but, you are absolutely correct. The Kanes have
something on Lianne.
Clarence Weidman-He has dirt on everyone because of the position he
has. He kept tabs on Lianne, he helped cover up Lily's murder, and
he knows all about the pay off to Abel. He knows enough to tell
everyone's dirty secrets to the police. Long shot, but he could have
murdered Lily for someone else.
I am just trying to figure out if the really shocker is someone that
is not a current suspect.

Great to see more fans here. I actually think it is Logan. Veronica
is relentless in her pursuit of the killer, and I think she may
throw some suspicion Logan's way. She may even start to suspect him,
herself. This will allow the real killer to rest easy if she used
Logan as bait. I would not be shocked if half the finale is devoted,
to making the viewer feel that Logan did kill Lily just to reveal
towards the end that it is not him.
Another spoiler indicates that Veronica's life will be in danger.
Betraying Logan will put a wrench in Love for Season 2. We also have
the spoiler that her love life is left cliff-hanging. I also think
this deals with Logan/Veronica. It may deal with Duncan, but for
some reason I think it will deal with Logan/Veronica. He will be
hurt, and may think Veronica used him. Especially if one of my
suspects turn out to be the killer. Logan and Veronica both have
trust issues, and this will definitely be a hurdle to face.

<<Veronica's rapist turns up dead, and Logan is the prime suspect

This is just speculation but if Logans kills someone im gunna cry!

I think that the person Veronica has to betray is her mother. It is
someone she cares about deeply, but she is going to have to betray her -
I can't help thinking this is well-deserved, her mother is a bit of a
selfish cow - okay, she says that she was protecting her daughter by
staying away...but curious as to what Jake/Celeste had to hold over her!

After last week's scary-Duncan-threatens-Veronica-then-splits cliffhanger, I
know you
guys can't wait to see what happens next. In preparation for "The Return of the
Killer
Donut," marsinvestigations.net would like to present our interview with Teddy

I thought the whole show was excellent and actually his reaction to her kissing him was priceless. Her reaction to the kiss was great, too. And I was glad they showed us that Deputy Leo kiss at the beginning, because she wasn't like that after Leo's kiss. Nice way to show that while Leo is a nice guy the chemistry just isn't there.
So, who does everyone think killed Lilly? Who does everyone think raped Veronica?

Yeah I know it's dead. We chat on a message board so.. and I know. It
was so amazing. So much chemestry.. maybe Rob Thomas is finally getting
the point ;)
You know "Veronica Mars" is the best thing on TV, right? Do your
friends know? Does your family? Are you struggling to find a way to
describe the show that doesn't sound a) cheesy, b) too teenagery or c)
just like Buffy or Nancy Drew? Have you managed to persuade them to
watch only to have them go "Huh?" because they've missed the last
[insert number] episodes and the show's intricately woven mysteries
and multi-layered characters are too perplexing?
Well we were in the same boat and did something about it. Welcome to
Mars Investigations.net (http://www.marsinvestigations.net), a
beginner's guide to "Veronica Mars". We have as much or as little as
the newbie needs to catch up. Want a detailed episode description? You
got it. Need to get a character sketch? It's there. Want to know who
killed Lilly Kane? So do we all, but how about a summary of the
investigation to date or a list of all the clues, episode by episode?
Come and spend five minutes or five hours and you'll be as sharp as
Veronica with what's going on.
Between us, we will show the clueless what they're missing. They will
thank us. There will be chocolate.
Most of you probably know that Veronica Mars is well liked by the UPN executives but it is not doing that stellar ratings wise. I'm passing along the following information for anyone who might like to drop UPN an email or a snail mail letter showing your support for this show. If you don't wish to, that's fine, but the show could use the support I think. Unlike other shows that have been cancelled that don't seem to have the support of the network, this one does. So let's give it a try. ~Susan

I'm not sure what the policy is on posting fics to this site, sooo I'll just post a link to the story. I just wrote it last night. I was on the fence as far as Veronica & Logan until this past week's episode.
Also, to any of you fan fiction writers, fanfiction.net finally has given VM its own category.
