Hi, I have found this list while doing a Google search on "Law & Order"
which brought me here. I am looking for help.
I am working on the Italian translation of L&O and I have stumbled
across a couple of acronyms I can't understand in the episode
"Collision" (#E1116): do you have any idea what do TRO and ACLU mean?
Here's the lines:
TRO: The defendant is a schyzophrenic and he stopped taking his pills
after being arrested, so he's now totally incapable. McCoy wants to put
him back on his medication, so he can be processed and executed. The
defense attorney says: "Yeah, you do that and you'll be in contempt. I
am appllying for a TRO barring you from medicating my client against
his will".
ACLU: The defense attorney says: "It's Gulga justice, Your Honor. The
Supreme Court held that psychotropic drigs can not be compelled against
an individual's freely chosen preferences. Mills vs. Rogers. I have
here affidavits from the ACLU".
Thank you!
