Shan ... I was just gonna let it go. I think most of us were just
hoping to let it pass. I think sometimes people just want an
audiance. That post had almost nothing to do with the show.
I'll tell you what did and does bother me about the show, here's a
case where political correctness has robbed us of quality. There are
at least 4 comics that made it into the house based on race or
gender. There is no way Eddie Pepitone should have lost out to Tere,
Geoff, Dat, or Cory.
I was also glad to see sean go. How he thought he could beat Dave
with joke book humor is beyond me. He was also a complete prick in
the house. Somebody is gonna take Ralphie out soon. He can't win
because he can't carry a show. Mordal is gonna crush who ever he
takes on in show downs, it would be wise to avoid picking him.

I don't know how many people read this email and just didn't want to reply, or what. See... your story. It's perfect for a movie, and I am sorry that it happened, and it's great that you love comedy so much. That's how it is for me- I used to be extremely suicidal, and most comics have a hard background that makes them want to make people laugh. It's an escape, and it's like a redeeming thing... if you make someone laugh, you feel better about yourself, because your helping them not do what you were going to.
But this doesn't really tell us why you were disappointed in the show... it just felt really off-topic. If you didn't like the comedy in the show... lol, that's all you had do tell us about. It doesn't make us upset, comedy tastes vary from person to person. I like to hear people's opinions, but if all they're going to do is bash the show, then I'm not going to be very happy, because I would just like to talk about it, not listen to people bitch and moan about how it's so not funny.
So, when I first started reading this... I was really happy, because I was thinking you were going to really explain why you don't like it. As in... if your comedy tastes are different. But you shared your life story, which doesn't explain it- it just makes people feel bad for you (as horrible as that is) and it doesn't seem like you're one for pity. So... good luck in your future endeavors, comedy career, etc... just no more depressing stories. Please!

Have you been to Dave's website?

I can't tell if it's a really bad website or just an inspired extension of
his comedy, but I think it's hilarious.
Anyone know the odds on the winner? I'm going with Dave, too.

I have figured out the winner. Dave Mordal is going to take the whole thing. The only two people that could possibly beat him are Rich Vos and Ralphie May, but either of them would have to be in the zone and Mordal would have to have an off night. Dave is probably the only one strong enough to carry a sitcom. I can already see the episode about the power outage done with nightvision. I could also see a sitcom with Vos, Ralphie is a club comic and can't do a series. The rest of them are generic at best and completely boring at worst.

Could it be that, due to her "immunity"(realityTVspeak for "can't get
voted off...GOD I hate television!)she voted for Ralphie to avoid
affecting the vote at all? Even if she believed it, he's OBVIOUSLY a
player and wasn't gonna get chumped in the first WEEK! She KNEW
voting for Ralphie was like not voting at all! G.

I wrote last week, That I was VERY disapointed in Last Comic Standing, and made a few upset. So I would like to take a few minutes to explain why. My name is Nina. I moved from Six Flags, Georgia, to Clay County Alabama, in September 2000 in hopes to let 2 teen boys enjoy nature. We were having our DREAM HOUSE built on 6.5 acres by the BEST.....Jim Walters. We were promised that the house would be finished by the end of September, So family desied to move to land and watch house be finished. We loved camping and was more than ready for change. The house failed building inspection, because it was built in county with no building codes. We camped for 5 months, 3 weeks, 4 days, and 27 minutes with 2 teen boys, a dog, and ol man, while they played the fart game in the tent. Every week D.H.R. came to the land, and saw we had more food, than most people have in their house. As the mother of the 2 teens, I never wanted them to be hungry. I had the money for rent but was in danger of having lumber stolen. I was in all the news papers, and fox 6 news, pointing out all the mistakes in DREAM HOUSE, with doors so small, kids had to turn sideways, to pass threw. While some teens built the house, the tobacco spitting dad's would be sipping moonshine at the trucks. I took $1000.00 worth of picuters, and I made the whole county Very mad. Because Clay County is the home of NOW new Governor, Bob Riley. My boys finally went to grandmas, the dog ran away, and ol man started drinkin. I had 6 binding contracts with Jim Walters, 5 kidney stones, 4 broke bones in foot, 3 cold tents, 2 missing teens, and 1 dead tropical fish. Finally, all is right with the world, my youngest son Bo comes back home. Bo has A.D.H.D. but has played the guitar since the age of 2. He has been going to doctor and takes medication. He has always recieved special help in school, and always loved going and being center of attention. Bo started school and was denided special help. The coaches would paddle him 3-5 times a day, untill I noticed brushes, and called the school, and supperintendant for a meeting. All attended, including the probation officer for the court. They informed me not only would Bo NOT get special help, but if he got in trouble one more time, he would go to court. Which followed days later. We went to court were the judge took Bo out of my house for being sexully abused and/or herrassed. See, when my boys went to grandmas, I had a hugh hole in my heart. I went to Atlanta Georgia and started doing stand-up at Uptowns and J-Pauls on Tarra Blvd. by the name of Sleezy Weezy, sometimes talking about adult novelty toys. The Clay County people found this out, and took Bo quick. I went to court 4 times, went to doctors and finally judge ORDERED special help for Bo. And he was returned home after investgation. However two weeks after school started Bo was made to sign out of school or go to boot camp. Agian, NO SPECIAL HELP.Bo was found to have a GREY POWERAIDE in his locker, which he had bought on the school grounds, that had ferminted. Coke company had drinks off school grounds, before sun went down. In Alabama, today, the Governor Bob Riley screams,,,,,NO CHILD WILL BE LEFT BEHIND. Not only has Bo been left behind, he has been forgotten. I then wrote every news paper in the state of Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and counting. I am 38 years old. I was raped by my uncle from age 5-15, I finally told my anut and she called my dad, who raped me 4 times. I tried to kill my self by taking 4 bottles of pills and stayed in coma for 2 weeks. I grew up fast. I only wanted the VERY best for my boys as they grew into 6 foot bean poles. I have been disabled for almost 12 years. I had gastric bypass Feb. 20th and have lost 118 pounds. Being a comedian to me is making as many people as possible lauph. Not fighting about smoking, or wispering behind others back...I travel to Georgia and Birmingham to do stand-up free. Nothing matters but hearing the lauph. I like to see sides hurting, while they lauph, with tears rolling down checks. Then, just maybe they can forget their problems for a few minutes. And it seems to make my heart happy. So to all those who try, good luck......any comments,,,,,mismudpuppy@...

I do not find Ralphie funny at all. Tess either, for that matter. I think Sean was funnier the last couple weeks, and was not on his game at all last night. I would be interested to know the whole story and not just the snippets we saw to know if he was really as judgmental and critical as he came across. Criticizing Cory's cooking was not a good move. However, there may have been another comment before we were not allowed to see. It is amazing how quickly the house divided. Obviously comics have a lot of underlying anger and angst.

I like Tess. I think she's pretty funny. But not funnier than
Ralphie. I couldn't believe she said she was funnier than him.

Oh, Eddie Pepitone. He had me rolling. Quite a character, that guy...
But I thought Tess was pretty funny. The goddess/grapes thing I found amusing... but what about that lesbian girl? She was pretty funny too. And the first week... the girl that talked about the handjob? I forgot her name, but she made me laugh so hard. Yeah, there's definately some people that were funnier than some of the people in the house right now.
Tere needs too go.

What I couldn't believe was Tess thinking that she is funnier then
Ralphie. Give me a break, he is going all the way in this thing. What
really got me was here acting like a goddess lying on the couch and
eating her grapes.
I don't know what the judges were thinking in the first three weeks.
Some people there shouldn't even be on a stage and some good ones
were sent home. Tess should've gotten the boot and Eddie Pepitone
should be in.
Sean's "pity me" walk at the end really got me annoyed. Tere is not funny. I can not stand that girl! How did she make it to the top ten? There was funnier people out there.
I definately see either Rob or Dave with their own sitcom... but a lot of the other people, I just don't see it... I just see more flops for NBC. I love this show though... it's the first reality show that I'm not embarassed to say I love.
Sean didn't take on Ralphie because he knew he didn't stand a chance
against him. He's a coward. And Ralphie was ready and wanting to
take him on. Sean told some funny stories however it was pretty
clear that he is not a funny person. All I heard from him was how he
had cancer and was from Texas....no he was not funnier than Dave
Mordal.
Are they genuinely really funny or is this all just an act? We can
see that on the show. I think we'll see Tess is maybe more suited
for something other than standup. I think most of the guys there are
good but I think Tess is more an actress than a comedian. I wish her
well but I don't think she is going to be the funniest.
Rob, Dave and Rich are all funny people. Not sure about Dhat Phan.
He does funny stuff, is that enough? Ralphie is definitely the main
man on that show. I have seen him many times over the years, he's
no poseur and he is much funnier when spontaneous. The camera loves
him and he is very much at ease.

You're just angry cause you forgot that you should only use one comma at a time. As a person said earlier, a comedian really is a comedian's worst critic.
Same here, Dave's the man! I didn't grow up in Minnesota but I did (and still am) growing up in a small town, so a lot of his jokes seemed to hit close to home. He's got a great delivery.
Did you SEE Sean when the votes were shown?!?! When Dave M came on,
Sean's right side of his mouth started twitching...but when Ralphie
came on, O MAN twitchtwitchtwitch...I know he has a condition, but
those guys must REALLY have gotten to him!!
Also, I agree with my man Brown when he tells Sean, "I'd challenge
the guy who called me a punk ass bitch!" HELL YEAH. Can't be scared
of Ralphie's skills like that, he challenged Dave cuz he thought he
could beat him, but you can tell Dave is funny by his quiet
demeanor...a thinker! G.
I was really excited about this show but figured it would fall flat
like some other reality shows so I prepared for the worst when
watching the first two episodes.
HOWEVER, each week it gets better and better! When it was over
last night, I didn't want to hit the Delete button on TiVo because I
wanted to see more!
Great show!
And I ADORE Ralphie May. I just hope the fat jokes don't bore me
by the end of the season. I think there is more to him than fat
jokes, though. I am sure he will be around awhile anyway for us
to wait and see.
Sean IS DEFINITELY a punk-ass bitch (or a bitch-ass punk) and
his chicken-egg joke came from the movie Fried Green
Tomatoes. And, dissin' on Corey's food? HELL NAAAW! I am
glad he is gone.
I started out hatin' on Rich Voss, but thanks to Sean, I like him a
little more now.
Dat Phan---OMG LOVE HIM!
Tere Joyce---her material needs work but she is so cute and
seems so sweet that I want her to stay. She is very likable.
Tess Drake, GO GIRL! (Though her act reminds me a little of
Monique's in Queens of Comedy)
Dave Mordal---definitely a Sleeping Giant. He may become my
new favorite if Ralphie's fat jokes start to get old.
Cory Kahaney--Umm, so far nothing real original but I will wait
and see. Maybe she will become more interesting as the show
progresses.
Geoff Brown--Kind of blah. Not too original. He's okay. I mean, I
wouldn't ask for my money back if he played my local comedy
club.
Rob Cantrell--I think he may be another sleeping giant but I can't
quite tell.
Anyway, from what I have seen so far, I don't think any of these
comics are doing comedy that is going to change the world. In
my opinion, the mark of a great comic is one who can make you
laugh while changing or affirming the way you look at life. (think
Bill Hicks). So far, I haven't seen that but a few of these comics
(Dave Mordal maybe) seem like they have it bubbling under the
surface.
Can't wait until the next show!!!!!
Hopefully there will be another show and they you can try to be on
it. I guess a comedian is prob a comedian's worst critic! :)
I think most of them are pretty funny. I loved Dave's act last night
in the challenge. Sean's chicken/egg joke was funny too, but not as
funny as Dave's routine.

I'm glad Sean is gone. He was irritating IMO. But Jersey guy is
clever in that he instigated Sean's downfall and actually came away
as not so much the bad guy as Dave and Ralphie. LOL!
I was surprised that Tess made so much money! The way the editing
went, I was expecting that Vietnam would win.
I really don't think Statue of Liberty girl is funny. It seems from
the previews that Dave tells her so! LOL!
I am loving this show. Can't wait until next week already.
Oh... and in regard to your 'fat people are funny' comment.... I have
to agree... but being a fat person is not funny.... really. It's
unhealthy, and unfortunate for most. (And I can speak to this
personally).

I agree that the voting booth did seem a bit brutal. I also got the feeling, from watching the comics while they were watching the voting, that they didn't expect it to be that brutal. They all looked so hurt.
I am a HUGE Dave Mordal fan, now. It may be because I am a native Minnesotan, so I get his jokes. Shucks, I even had a best friend who ended up homeless in one of the last big North Dakota floods. Or it could just be his delivery. I love his whole attitude. He seems very bright, to me, so I was surprised when Cory called him stupid.

Ditto on the Statue of Liberty girl. I'm glad the gay guy didn't make it through though, they were right about him needing to do more jokes other than just gay ones. But... he WAS better than the other girl.
I didn't think I would like the show as much as I do! It's great!
I think the fat guy is the funniest! I don't know how the 'statue of
liberty' girl made it to the final 10 though. I thought her jokes
were lame.

Cory, Dave, and Rob. Did anyone catch Late Friday... sometime last
year.. when Cory was up there? She was so good... I wonder if she's
going to use some of that material again, I hope so. Dave, I can
totally relate to, and Rob... kind of reminds me of Dane Cook.
Finally, a reality show that doesn't suck major ass.
