Okay, as long as they aren't *smelly* socks!

I filter my mail into folders and read each list one at a time.
Sometimes I put myself on nomail on a list, especially if the reigning
subject is one that I'm not interested in at the moment. (One of my organ
lists right now is in the middle of a mammoth political threads, for
example, and I loathe politics. So I put myself on nomail until it peeters
out. Another list is dominated by immature-acting people who get all giggly
and stupid from time to time. So I put myself on nomail there, too.
Self-defense <g>) I'll monitor via the Yahoo site, and go back to regular
mail when the subject interests me more.
Another thing I do is keep my email program running whenever I'm online,
and set to gather mail every 2-3 minutes. When I have a break in a story,
or whatever, I'll go read the mail that's accumulated, so it doesn't build
up too much. Also, I suppose it helps that I don't have a life outside of
the 'net at the moment, so I'm online nearly all day...
And, it is soon to be 45 lists, as a friend and I are setting up a list for
people who are both Harm and Mac (JAG) shippers and Riker and Troi, AKA
Imzadi (Star Trek TNG) shippers. BTW, if any of you are in that category,
please feel free to email me privately and I'll see to it that you get an
invite once we have the thing up and running...

When my mom was pregnant with my sister (due on my mom's b-day, born 4 days
later), my dad took her (my mom) for lots of rides on bumpy roads on her
b-day... Other than that, sorry, but despite my appearance I ain't never
been pregnant, nor prolly am gonna be!

Who me? Impatient? Does walking over 2 miles a day (even though it is in
excruciating pain) just because the doc says that is my only hope of
having this baby anytime in the near future make me impatient? Hubby and
I have both told this baby that it is time to come out and play and to
listen to mommy and daddy, but so far no luck... Maybe my muse will kick
back in once the house is clean (only the LR left and that's
tomorrow!!!!) and I can get some writing done in the meantime.

Welcome everyone to our new list home :-)
Speaking as one of Santa Kathy's elves ;) I'm hoping that you'll enjoy the
new digs, and that it's not too frustrating to get accustomed to new ways of
doing things. Ask all the questions you've got, and take advantage of
Yahoo's help screens.
I'm also working on an updated FAQ file for posting in various places, so if
you've a burning question that you'd like to see included, now's your chance
:-)

Hi All
Just a big thank you to all involved with setting up the list at it's new

to it? Another of those steep learning curves offered by the

You can change the email address that yahoo groups sends its mail to you
at. The instructions are on the website. This can be useful if you
move ISPs and need to change your email address for a number of lists at
once.

Well, you just used it, Ann ... the downside to using this listserver is
that Yahoo tacks on ads to everyone's emails, but with a little practice you
can learn to ignore them.

I think the quoteback option depends on your own email program. Also, if you go
into "Edit My Membership" (on the mid-upper right of the home screen), you can
specify "No HTML conversion" which at least should screen out the graphic ads.
You're set as a moderater now, Kathy :-)

One thing that could be a pain was that when I hit "reply", the ad
popped up in the quoted text. Now *that* could be a problem.
