Re: [Kid_Nation] "Old" book

Yeah. I've heard reports of some schools getting rid of recess altogether. Nowdays it's work work work, you don't need to "relax". Things have changed ALOT since I was in school.

lol, yeah. Unless one of them was somebody like Nostradamus(sp?). Do those writers REALLY think people are THAT dumb? Maybe we should ask them "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" lol, My answer to that is "No" they are not.

Yeah, it should. I know for a fact that some of the kids either like or play guitar. One kid had a guitar or something that shape slung over his back on the first episode when they're all standing around waiting for the council to arrive. I KNOW that it's not that old. How would people 100 years ago know that these KIDS have been here for 11, 14, 19, whatever amount of days? I mean, really.

True. And I don't think the "Journal" is as old as they're making it out to be. It looks to be in too good of shape for it to be over 100 years old. That's about how each ep goes(The way you have it listed). I wonder what talents the kids have. Should be interesting to see.

On 11/6/07, Elizabeth none <redeemedbyhim@... > wrote:

Maybe so. They don't show everything, after all. I don't get it, though.
Are you looking foward to next ep? I don't know if it'll be, but it looks as though it might be sort of boring. Maybe, maybe not :-) And even if the talent show is, there's other sections to the eps.
I think it goes:
Review
Title, some show
Kid Nation "song" & all
More ep
Showdown
(is there more ep after that, or just the Town Hall?)
Then more ep, and after that the previews for next week.

So there's still, like, 2 more 'storylines' available.
I wonder who'll win? DK looks like he's good at drama, from the preview.

Yeah. I'm curious though as to why Mike was voted off the council. He seemed to be doing a good job, IMO.

Yeah...I wonder how she'll be when she goes home? I've noticed huge improvement in Greg's behavior; DK probably learned that sticking it out has its rewards; Leila obviously isn't as...well...spoiled & tough-skinned as Taylor - she showed that by actually helping with the trash burying, realizing that if she didn't, consequences would happen.
Hm, I guess there IS a lot to learn in the show :-)

I thought that, too...but for some reason I feel different...like we shouldn't judge the heart of a person (okay, so she IS spoiled, no doubt at all about that, but everyone, excluding no one, has SOME potential in them...even if they /aren't/ using it).  I didn't say that she isn't spoiled, just that she has the ability to change if she would only take it! "Judge not, that ye be not judged," Matt. 7:1

But I know she has the ability to be a good kid, too. She just...doesn't use it often.

NOt yet sadly. Haven't had time, I thought I would but I don't, I'm trying to get ready for company this weekend. But you guys go ahead and discuss the new ep, just for my sake put a spoiler warning/tag in the subject line so I'll know to save the email(s) for later. :) What's your opinion of Taylor, BTW? I liked her at first then she seemed to be overcome with power of being a council member, which IMO, was her downfall in the election. She became addicted to power and became lazy.

WOW. Poor kids. Really, though, all of America has gotten extremely lazy (not saying that recess should be taken out!!) since the old days. Used to be a 12...

Yes, we as a nation ARE getting lazy, that's one reason so many are fat/overweight. Child labor? HA! Like you said before modern technology EVERYONE did...
