Palace of Japan's warrior queen discovered (JB should do a show on this!!!)

Archaeologists believe they have discovered the palace of Japan's "Boadicea" – the warrior Queen Himiko.

The building covering nearly 300 square metres was located close to the city of Sakurai and the former Japanese capital of Nara, 300 miles south-west of Tokyo.

Built on stilts, the structure was found beside three other aligned buildings, leading archaeologists to believe it is the site of Himiko's Yamatai palace.

"A building cluster that is placed in such a well-planned manner is unprecedented in Japan at that period in time," Hironobu Ishino, director of the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Archaeology, told Kyodo News.

The discovery coincided with celebrations today to mark the 20th anniversary of the enthronement of the present emperor.

Queen Himiko is a popular character in Japanese history. She was apparently able to wield great power in the Yamatai Kingdom from around the end of the second century. Legends handed down from the time describe her as "being skilled with magic".

Japanese revere her as a heroic Boadicea-type figure who unified the kingdom after years of fighting with rival tribes, before her death around 248AD.

The precise location of Yamatai has been one of the most bitterly disputed issues in Japanese archaeology, with some claiming the kingdom was in present-day Kyushu. The latest finding supports the claim of central Japan to the queen's lands.

The researchers' conclusions on the palace are supported by a huge traditional keyhole-shape tomb which is nearby and may be the last resting place of the third-century relative of Emperor Akihito.

Excavation of the tomb could settle that debate once and for all, although the Imperial Household Agency appear to have ruled that out.

Security in Tokyo has been stepped up ahead of official celebrations to mark the 20th anniversary of the emperor's accession to the Chrysanthemum Throne, the longest royal dynasty in the world.

Akihito took over the throne after the death of his father, Emperor Hirohito, in 1989.

Ceremonies are to be held at the Royal National Theatre and 30,000 people are expected to attend a public ceremony later in the day.

More than 16,000 police have been mobilised to provide security and demonstrations by extreme left-wing groups opposed to the imperial system are planned just outside the grounds of the palace in central Tokyo. Clashes with nationalist groups are expected.

Roman ruins found under theatre

An ancient Roman ruin has been discovered by builders working on the 25.6m redevelopment of the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury.

The townhouse, thought to date from between the late second and early third Centuries, is believed to have belonged to a wealthy citizen.

Archaeologists found the remains of the building's under-floor heating, leather shoes, seeds and a plate.

Experts will examine the remains before the redevelopment work resumes.

'High quality'

Archaeologist James Holman said: "It's quite unexpected.

"It's very unusual to find buildings of this type in this area of Canterbury, this side of the River Stour.

"It is a very high quality building, it would have had heated floors."

But he added: "A lot of it has been disturbed by earlier buildings, when they built this theatre in the 30s and when it was redeveloped in the 80s.

"A lot of the archaeology has been removed so there isn't enough of it left to preserve it in situ."

In March the owners of the Marlowe Theatre were given permission to build a 1,200-seat auditorium and a second 150-seat performance space on the current site.

The 25.6m redevelopment of the venue has been backed by host of stars from stage, screen and television.

In June Sonia Copeland-Bloom, the mother of actor Orlando Bloom, announced she was selling some of his possessions to raise money for the scheme.

Bloom appeared at the Marlowe Theatre early in his acting career and is now one of its patrons.

More than 16,000 police have been mobilised to provide security and demonstrations by extreme left-wing groups opposed to the imperial system are planned just outside the grounds of the palace in central Tokyo. Clashes with nationalist groups are expected.

ARCHAEOLOGY: SPANIARDS DISCOVER FORGOTTEN EUPHRATES CITY

(by Paola Del Vecchio) (ANSAmed) - MADRID - They have renamed it the city recovered from the Euphrates and it is found in the Syrian enclave of Tall Qabr on the banks of the river that, with the Tigris, was the centre of the birth of civilisation in Mesopotamia. It is a circularly planned city, dating back to 2,600 years before Christ. Galician archaeologists from an expedition from the University of Coruna made the discovery, led by Jean Luis Montero, who identified two layers dating back to from the IV to first millennium before Christ. Since 2008 the multidisciplinary expedition, made up of 20 people, has been working in the area known as the Hill of the Tomb in the Euphrates Valley on an excavation campaign in collaboration with the Syrian government in which various universities are participating with Spain's Superior Centre for Scientific Research (CSIC) and the Syrian Ministry of Culture. The expedition, according to what Montero told the media, located the remains of the city, dated to 4,500 years ago, and that of a fortress dating back to 1,300 years before Christ. Among the artefacts uncovered, a collection of ceramics that will allow researchers to understand how life was in an epoch privy of information. There was also a stamp of enormous artistic beauty, corresponding to those used by dignitaries, Montero assured. It is a clue that indicates the high possibility of finding the cities archive, according to what the excavation supervisors say, which would help us understand the era's political and diplomatic structure. Regarding the city, its localisation was possible thanks to geo-radar, carried out in collaboration with the University of Vigo, in Galicia, a technique which allows for preliminary work without digging. The surprise is that it was built on a circular plan, Montero observed. It is the second city documented in the area of the Euphrates on this plan. The other is some 200 kilometres from these ruins, and it was thought that the circular plan was something out of the ordinary. The results of the expedition, defined as a historic find, will soon be presented in Madrid. According to Montero, the concepts that we take for granted in the history books could be rewritten. It is not Pompeii, but according to the archaeologist, it is comparable proportionately. The objective of the expedition is to determine what the concept of border was from the IV millennium to the Byzantine period. The city could represent the passage from the rural cycle to the urban cycle, in other words the first cities in history and show the border of the Mari kingdom, the ancient rivals of Babylonia. The Galician archaeologists will continue to work in the area next year. The director of the project hopes to bring the walls to the surface as well as its secrets as a dam threatens to flood this piece of history. For this reason the team of researchers is preparing a report to sent to UNESCO, with an international appeal to protect the archaeological area and to ask at the same time for more resources and people to uncover the buried city. (ANSAmed).

She's not into dating other women. Her answers on that site were all jokes to make her look "edgy".

We know Josh is into dating that kind of person because he dated Dylan Lauren, who is a socialite and the daughter of a fashion designer. If he could date her, he would have no problem dating a fashion bimbo who worked for Vogue.

That’s true Nancy, but in my opinion I like to think that people are smart, they know the difference between gossip and actual news. We really don’t know anything about Josh and his relationships and as far as honesty on a website, this is a fan site, there is going to be gossip, we’re not a news organization.

I do have to say that Dylan is a very beautiful woman and a woman of integrity to not gossip about her relationship with Josh.

Well, we all know that Josh takes pictures with a lot of women and like he said, he’s very private about his relationship, so I don’t expect to see pictures of his lady friend anytime soon. And I’m sure his mom is not going to let him date just anyone, also he’s a good guy, he’s going to date a respectable woman and if not… well, in the famous words of Bobby Brown, “That’s my (JB’s)  prerogative.” However, I hope he is not dating a fashion bimbo, because then I’ll have to eat my words. lol

It’s all a mystery to me! There are no postings on JB’s fan site about new ITU episodes. However this is posted on JB’s Discovery fan site.

CAN'T FIND Into the Unknown IN THE SCHEDULE? Don't fret! Josh Bernstein is currently on hiatus searching for more adventures.

It would be nice if Josh would let his fans know about what’s going on with his ITU show.

Well, we all know that Josh takes pictures with a lot of women and like he said, he’s very private about his relationship, so I don’t expect to see pictures of his lady friend anytime soon. And I’m sure his mom is not going to let him date just anyone, also he’s a good guy, he’s going to date a respectable woman and if not… well, in the famous words of Bobby Brown, “That’s my (JB’s)  prerogative.” However, I hope he is not dating a fashion bimbo, because then I’ll have to eat my words. lol

I think I found her...she looks like your typical fashion bimbo. Apparently she works for VOGUE. Yeah, I can picture this working out.

Someone should post a message on both his twitter and his official site.  Then we may get a response.

This probably an old subject and answered before, but does anyone know if Discovery Channel cancelled JB's TV show? what happened? Is Disc. Channel going to film and air some more episodes of Into Unknown ? what is status?

Reality is what we take to be true.
What we take to be true is what we believe.
What we believe is based upon our perceptions.
What we perceive depends upon what we look for.
What we look for depends upon what we think.
What we think depends upon what we perceive.
What we perceive determines what we believe.
What we believe determines what we take to be true.
What we take to be true is our reality.

I am the owner of this fan site and please, I would appreciate it if you would contact me first before posting FREE items, thank you so much for offering the fan stuff, however I have to say to our JB fans on this site that you deal at your own risk.

Sincerely, Rapa

I am passing on my Josh/DFT/ITU collection of stuff for free, really!! All I ask is shipping because I have massive amounts of magazine, DVDs and other goodies and I can't afford to pay for shipping but there is no mark-up, everything is pure post office shipping cost that can be paid either via PayPal or money order.

All of these items date from 2005 through Spring 2009. I know Josh has PDFs of some of the magazine articles on this site but this is your chance to have your favorite in your hot little hands. Plus, some were signed at the San Francisco signing event in Jan 2007, some of the magazines were very hard to find or not in major circulation, and some of the other items were not available to the general public or were limited edition promos.

Because I have so much to share, I am going to limit it to one item per person so everyone gets a chance to get something. I will keep the list as updated as possible but please list your top three selections just in case something you want has already been claimed. To request something, email me at jbfan34231@yahoo. com

On to the list!
