as I recall Luda Kruitor was also Jason's
dancing partner
Kat leaves it to Luda
Lincoln is the fox-trotting sly fox
Lincoln Lewis finds his groove
ON paper it would seem Lincoln Lewis is the
sly fox among the crop of fox-trotting
celebrities for this year's Dancing With
The Stars.
The Home and Away actor not only has one of
the best dance partners for the show, with
Luda Kroitor, but he's dating So You Think
You Can Dance top 5 dancer Kat Risteska and
he's been spied having a quiet word with
SYTYCD judge Jason Coleman.
But Lewis swears he's not trying to get a
step-up on the competition for the ninth
series of the popular show which premieres
this week.
"Oh, mate, I wish I could get tips from him
(Coleman)," Lewis says during a break between
filming for Home and Away and then rehearsing
for Dancing With The Stars.
"I met 'Jaso' about a year-and-a-half ago.
We just cross paths now and again and he always
takes time to stop and say g'day. I'd love to get
some advice from some of those guys."
It's advice Lewis, 21, seems to think he
desperately needs. The avid sportsman and son
of rugby league legend Wally Lewis admits his
introduction to the world of dancing only began
two weeks ago when rehearsals started.
"I've never really done dancing in my life apart
from one or two hip-hop lessons," he says.
Not at school formals?
"Nope, never had to learn any special dance for
our formal - it was pretty cool and cas."
Not even in clubs?
"Nope. I was never one to be in the middle of
the circle busting up big breakdance moves. I
was the sort of guy who just crossed his arms
and sort of looked like he was part of one of
the dance crews, but really I was just trying
to keep out of the action."
What about your parents?
"I honestly don't know whether they would have
been groovin' on the dance floor when they were
younger. I've never seen them bust a move
personally - but that's not to say there couldn't
be a secret weapon hiding in the closet."
Has Kat has been giving Lincoln Lewis some
dancing tips?
"No, you see Kat never learned Latin dancing or
ballroom dancing until she did SYTYCD. She's tried
to school me a bit in her hip-hop moves on the
side, that's all," Lewis says. "I brought her to
one of my rehearsals to have a watch ... but she
leaves everything to Luda because Luda's a pro."

Seeking success
HOME And Away's Jason Smith has joined fellow countrymen Bruce
Spence and Craig Horner as well as Jay Laga'aia in New Zealand for
the cast of new US syndicated series Legend Of The Seeker.
The fantasy show (based on The Sword Of Truth novels about a missing
wizard) is from Sam Raimi, who also directed all three Spider-Man
flicks.
Raimi must love filming in New Zealand because he also made
Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess there.
