(these are from http://realitynewsonline.com)

1 – The Friendship, Big Brother 6 (C. Brian Devinney)

You either loved them or you hated them. Most people hated them. I,
for one, alternated between the two depending upon the current mood
in the house. After Janelle pranced through the house singing, "Bye,
bye bitches," upon winning Head of Household, I firmly moved into
their camp just for their game play alone.

Yes, as a group they twice decided to break their promise with
Kaysar within the same week when he finally gave in on the Head of
Household challenge. Quite frankly, I would have as well. It would
have been bad game play for Jennifer to put two of her own alliance
members at risk for elimination when there were other people that
were keeping them from making it to the final two. There was no
guarantee that if someone other than a member of the Friendship won
the Power of Veto that it would be used to take one of them off the
chopping block. Nor was there any guarantee that the vote would
swing the intended way. There were too many potential pitfalls that
it made sense for Jennifer and the Friendship to use the power that
best suited their purposes. In doing so, they eliminated Kaysar from
the game a second time and incurred the wrath of their fellow
houseguests and his cadre of fans.

Why is The Friendship at the top of this year's list (and the only
nominee to be mentioned by all five writers)? Quite frankly, they
became the focus of the game. Their deliberate disregard for
promises made during the Head of Household competition turned the
entire Big Brother game on its head. No one was safe and no promise
was sacred. It was their actions that led one website to attempt to
raise $2 million to give to Kaysar, Rachel, and Howie. It was their
actions that led thousands of people in an unsuccessful boycott of
the show following Kaysar's second nomination and ousting. It was
their actions that ultimately led them to victory, whether it was
palatable to the viewer or not.

Many people have claimed to be the "star" of Big Brother, but in
this situation, the star was the group of people that everyone loved
to hate and no one wanted to see win. That's why The Friendship tops
our list this year.

So that's all she wrote, folks. The Friendship was the overwhelming
winner of this year's inaugural list of the 25 Most Fascinating,
Flabbergasting, and Frightening People of the Year. However, I'm
sure that you're wondering who else was nominated but didn't make
the final cut. Next you will find out how each writer voted in their
Top 15 list so you can see who else we thought was worthy of being
mentioned.

#2 – Stephenie LaGrossa & Bobby Jon Drinkard, Survivor: Palau and
Survivor: Guatamala (Gil Sery)

Stephenie LaGrossa, a pharmaceutical sales rep from Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, captured the attention of the American public the way
few other Survivors have. She first appeared on the Ulong Tribe in
Survivor: Palau and immediately started winning the hearts of
millions of Americans. Why? The reason can be summed up in one word:
pluck.

Stephenie had a "never-say die" attitude and a mental and physical
toughness that surprised even her on occasion. Her Ulong tribe lost
immunity challenge after immunity challenge, and yet she always
remained positive. She never whined or complained; she just resolved
to work harder and hoped for the best.

Her biggest problem was her inability to win immunity. In fact, the
first time she ever won an individual immunity challenge in either
the Palau or Guatemala seasons was the one she won to secure her
place in Guatemala's Final Four. In the end, this inability and a
unanimous vote eliminated Stephenie from Survivor: Palau. This
inability also cost her the opportunity to choose her Final Two
partner in Survivor: Guatemala.

On the other hand, Bobby Jon Drinkard, a waiter from Troy, Alabama,
proved himself to be an extremely hard worker on the show's Palau
edition, especially in comparison to some of his fellow tribemates
who preferred to lay about and do nothing. He was constantly
gathering food or building fire or helping out his tribe in other
ways.

His demise on Survivor: Palau was almost poetic. Instead of a final
Tribal Council between the two of them, the outcome was determined
by a competition to see who could build a fire the quickest. The
winner would move on in the game, while the loser would be
eliminated. Bobby Jon was the one who had previously shown Stephenie
how to build a fire, so it came as somewhat of a surprise, both to
viewers and Stephenie herself, when the student eclipsed the teacher
to build her fire the quickest, thereby sending Bobby Jon home.

Yet this was not the end of Stephenie, nor Bobby Jon. As the final
two members of the ill-fated Ulong Tribe, they were invited back to
compete again in Survivor: Guatemala. This time around, the two
veterans were placed on separate teams and actually got to compete
in tribes and even a few immunity challenges with their respective
tribes.

Stephenie made a friend in Judd Sergeant, a hotel doorman from New
Jersey who kept sharing reward after reward with Stephenie in the
vain hope that she would take him to the Final Two. They also shared
something in common in that Stephenie moved from Pennsylvania to New
Jersey, where Judd also lives. Unfortunately for Judd, his plan
backfired as he was the thirteenth castaway voted out.

Bobby Jon, meanwhile, started out Survivor: Guatemala in pretty bad
shape, along with several other male tribe members. A grueling 11-
mile jungle hike left him completely dehydrated, and in the care of
Margaret Bobonich, a nurse from New York who took care of him and
nursed him back to health.

Once healthy, Bobby Jon was once again able to contribute to his
team. However, there were two contestants that he seemed to clash
with most often: Stephenie and Jamie Newton, a water-ski instructor
from North Hollywood, California. At one point, after a particular
challenge, things got so heated between Jamie and Bobby Jon that the
two of them seemed to almost come to blows. As for Stephenie, Bobby
Jon has said that he considers her a friend, even though — as he put
it during the game — he can't stand to be with her for more than
five minutes at a time.

For her part, Stephenie proved she'd learned from her previous
experience and strategized on how to manipulate the game in her
favor. One example is the way she spearheaded an effort to evict a
paranoid Jamie without informing Judd, who had promised Jamie that
he wasn't going to be evicted before the Final Six, only to be
blindsided the very same night that Judd had made his promise.

After being voted off in Palau, Bobby Jon told RealityNewsOnline's
David Bloomberg that strategizing was not his style. However, he
changed his mind when he appeared on the Guatemala edition and
decided to pull out all the stops this time. This included trying
his hand at strategizing with his teammates. For example, he made a
deal with Stephenie to get him on the jury. The latter came true
when he became the tenth castaway to be voted off Survivor:
Guatemala. Stephenie, of course, made it all the way to second place.

Neither Stephenie nor Bobby Jon will easily be forgotten by Survivor
fans. They made history as the last two members of the only tribe
never to win an immunity challenge and made history once again by
being the only two castaways (in a non-All-Star edition) ever to be
invited back to see how they would fare under different
circumstances. It is these history-making events and the way they
took advantage of their second chances that make this pair two of
the most fascinating people of 2005.

#3 – The Weaver Family, The Amazing Race: Family Edition (Brian
Towers)

The eighth edition of The Amazing Race was supposed to be different,
a feel-good "Family Edition" with kids, dads, and sisters. The
travel route was less challenging and the focus was expected to be
more on the relationships within the teams. No one expected
irritating Guidos, an egocentric Flo, or a delusional Jonathan. Yet
that's what we got with the holier-than-thou Weaver family.

One thing became quickly apparent – almost every other team did not
like the Weavers, either during or after the race. Jeepers, wait
until they see footage shot while the Weavers were alone!

The Weavers behaved badly. They were very critical of others, and
often behind their backs. They assumed other teams would waste the
prize money on boob jobs and ridiculed The Paolos' garbage truck.
Comments that were made about the Godlewskis after they tried to
console the Weavers at the racetrack were unacceptable. So were the
comments about "ugly Utah." Not only did Linda not correct this
behavior, she contributed to it.

They sat alone in their trailer wondering why the others didn't talk
to them. However, when someone did acknowledge them, they were
deemed to be "snotty." Their own attempts at communication seemed
limited to aggressively confronting teams that yielded them.

There was more, but I'm limited by amount of space and weakness of
stomach.

Bottom line, although The Weavers professed to be living the
Christian life, their behavior raised doubts that The Golden Rule
("Do unto others as you would have them do unto you") was properly
exercised. The Weavers were pimples on the butt of the 2005 reality
world. Thank whomever that they didn't win!

#4 – Kaysar, Big Brother 6 (Sandy McFarland)

Who received millions of vote to get him returned to the Big Brother
house? It wasn't the NYC firefighter that I expect CBS would have
preferred us to love. It was Iraqi-born, Islam-practicing, King of
the Sovereigns, enemy of the "Friendship," Kaysar Ridha. Out of the
fourteen houseguests, Kaysar almost immediately captured the hearts
of the live feeders. Many of us were seeing one thing while CBS
shared a different story. In my livefeeder's eye, Kaysar was the
good guy, while firefighter Eric, a two-faced, egotistical bully and
buffoon, received the admiration. Slowly CBS turned things around
and realized the error of their ways. The Friendship and their hero-
worshipping of Eric were bad, and Kaysar and his Sovereign pals were
good.

In the end, Kaysar may have not won the money, but he certainly won
respect, love, and acceptance, along with a spot in America's heart.
In the beginning, Kaysar, Michael, and Eric set up a deal to stick
together. Eric broke the deal first. Repeatedly we heard how Kaysar
hadn't kept his word. No one seemed to get that Kaysar's first
alliance was with his friend and partner in this game, Michael. When
Michael left the Big Brother house, Kaysar remained firm in his
resolve to avenge his friend's demise. Kaysar decided to shake up
the house.

The viewers weren't shown and never heard some of the Friendship's
racist, filthy remarks directed at this humble, peaceful man. Kaysar
was accused of being the hypocrite among some of this same group for
even being on the show. Amidst even this, Kaysar remained respectful
and polite consistently throughout his stay in the Big Brother
house. His friendship with Janelle, Howie, and Rachel was always
honest, and always warm. This was the true friendship that was void
of the inside backbiting and nastiness of the group who boasted that
name.

Once Kaysar received Head of Household, he truly started becoming
the mastermind leading the Sovereigns. He brilliantly keeps his
cards close to his chest and worked the "Friendship" to his
advantage. He kept his word to Eric by putting Maggie up for
eviction. Kaysar received his revenge when Eric was backdoored. Yes,
Kaysar left soon after, but he wasn't gone for long. America got to
choose a person to return to the house and we wanted Kaysar back!
Between Eric, Michael, and he, Kaysar received 82% of the vote. He
once again joined the houseguests to finish out the game.

Unfortunately his return didn't last long. I wish he had listened to
me as I shouted to my television, "Do NOT take your finger off of
the button!" Alas, he didn't hear me and for the second time, Kaysar
walked out of the Big Brother house. He left the house this final
time with the same dignity and pride as before. This time I expect
it was harder, maybe he felt he had let us down. He knew that
millions of people had voted for him and was overcome with emotion
when he learned of this. He knew we had his back! Kaysar was and is
a gentleman, a good person, and an outstanding game player. I only
wish he had kept his finger on the button.

#5 – Latricia – I Want to Be a Hilton (Phil Kural)

Where do I even begin? Our queen. Our beloved, sarcastic, eye-
rolling queen. Latricia was a piece of work. A piece of work that I
wanted to take a picture of, frame, and have stare down on me as I
take a bubble bath each night. Well, not exactly to that extent, but
C. Brian and I made it quite clear that we worshipped the ground
that she walked on. Latricia was from the wrong side of the tracks
and wanted nothing more than to bask in Kathy Hilton's glow with her
son and have a better life. Alas, she didn't win I Want to Be a
Hilton, but she did last for a pretty long time, and even got to see
the ouster of her arch-nemesis, Yvette. Ugh, just the though of
Yvette brings vomit to my mouth.

It's a no-brainer that Latricia made I Want to Be a Hilton. I had no
other reason to watch. She made me laugh just by raising an eyebrow
or rolling her eyes. The best thing about Latricia was that she was
there to compete. She truly wasn't there to make friends, and she
made that well known. Of course, she was as sweet as apple pie, but
Latricia never wavered when it came to challenges, to which she
always gave everything she had. Latricia was not the type of girl
who was just going to give up. That was clear because she was almost
eliminated five times and not once did she ever just throw in the
towel and say, "Miss Kathy, send me home." Nope – not our Latricia.
She fought tooth and nail to stay in the competition and never once
complained that she was being targeted.

I'll never forget in the second episode, when Kathy took the gang up
to the Hamptons and Latricia wondered if the Hamptons were really
friends with the Hiltons. Classic Latricia, ladies and gentlemen.
Then there was the time that Latricia had to work with Teeka, or as
she referred to her, "the damn retarded dog," and took it personally
when she wouldn't eat the treats that Latricia offered her,
saying, "Why she so scared? I'm not going to eat you!" That would
only come out of the wonder mouth of our Latricia. Where is she now?
Oh, I have no clue, however, I'm sure she's back at the DMV, making
people wait longer than they should in line, all while doing it with
a silly grin on her face that only myself or C. Brian could
appreciate. Here's to Latricia, number five on our hot list.

The eighth edition of The Amazing Race was supposed to be different,
a feel-good "Family Edition" with kids, dads, and sisters. The
travel route was less challenging and the focus was expected to be

irritating Guidos, an egocentric Flo, or a delusional Jonathan. Yet

deemed to be "snotty." Their own attempts at communication seemed
limited to aggressively confronting teams that yielded them.

There was more, but I'm limited by amount of space and weakness of
stomach.

Bottom line, although The Weavers professed to be living the
Christian life, their behavior raised doubts that The Golden Rule
("Do unto others as you would have them do unto you") was properly
exercised. The Weavers were pimples on the butt of the 2005 reality
world. Thank whomever that they didn't win!

toughness that surprised even her on occasion.

Brian could
appreciate. Here's to Latricia, number five on our hot list.

it is too bad that she was judged by them. I could tell last season
that even if Ivette did not see it at the time, the people she was
aligned with were only using Ivette as well. She had far more
character in and out of the house.
I really wanted her to have a second chance. She seemed so sad when
she was not allowed in.

Hi Ivette and others,
I just wanted to let you know, I voted over and over for you to be on
the BB7 All-stars. I loved your spirit last year and your courage and
grace you exhibited upon leaving the house last year. The season will
not be the same without you.
May your life be filled with joy.

but secretly I am still hoping for a Big Brother Twist that will bring
you back into the house. You deserved a chance to shine on your own
merits, with out someone playing you like a puppet.

With love and luck,
Sherry
