Seems like there are 3 different firm ware versions. The original had
very few memories. The next increased memory capacity without BCL, and
the current has BCL. I suspect the beep is coming from a too sensitive
vswr detector in the radio - try a different antenna, or different part
of the band. Even a change in coaxial cable length may remedy the
